I think it would be great if you brought your camera and your commentary to a coin show to share with your RUclips audience! I can’t get around anymore and I miss going to them. Thanks again for all you do for the numismatic community.
Great information! Many dealers are willing to spend time and share information with you if you are passionate and hungry to learn. At the Long Beach show one dealer in particular, the main buyer for a large coin company, would share amazing inside information with me that greatly moved my grading skills forward. Another dealer found that I was planning to set up at a show in the future and coached me through, allowed me to call him and pick his brain. He saved me from a lot of mistakes! There are always lulls in a coin show so wait for a slow time to approach the dealer you want to speak with, if a buying customer shows up give way and come back at another lull. Also, It is very, VERY good form to buy from a dealer that is sharing knowledge with you.
Totally agreed! It's a lot about timing... dealers can be so busy and sometimes the timing is just really bad so they come across as cold. While there are a few true bad apples, most are really willing to share and help you out a ton if they are at a lull in a show. It's all about making a few close connections with kind, knowledgeable dealers who can grow you in the hobby if you're willing to give the effort back on your end in terms of learning and taking advantage (in a positive way) of what they are talking about.

I agree you have too join..membership fees...then they want you..the owner of coins to give a grade..with how much you think it's worth....i sent five coins...expecting a grade..not..they just them back....no explanation...I purchased a way over priced coin from eye dot ..on t.v...DONT DO IT.............coin came with 5 FREE coin grading's...it was just scam...so buyer beware...go to coin show or just stuff your mattress with federal reserve notes...LEGAL tender.currency..thanks Christian. Great video...
The next coin show that I'm returning to again is in October 2019. Last October was my first one. Hopefully they still have Buffalo nickels for 25 cents each and Indian Head pennies for 50 cents each. I missed out on the pennies because they tore down right when I got there. I'm gonna buy a full 50 cents roll of them if the Indian Head pennies are there again. They literally had a one gallon bowl filled with Indians and another with buffalos.

Great reasoning. I enjoy coin shows for many of your reasons, but never buy very much. They're just fun.
Agreed! I don't spend a ton (sometimes a piece here or there) but just enjoy the coins and company of collectors.
Can you tell me where are the best places to try to get the most current info on shows in my area or at least within my state I would appreciate anything you can offer thank you
John Larson google is what I use, if there is a local coin club near you their website will probably have some info on local shows are
Hunter is right on! I would do google searches with "coin shows (state you live in)" as well.

Yeah! Thats the same thing i read! They want me to tell them what to do! Crazy!
Would not buy from TV! A lot of scams there. Thanks for the comment Frank.
For sure.. makes sense that it worked out. A bit pricy but cuts out a lot of the annoying parts.

That's really cool! Hope it goes well.. always fun to save up some money ahead of a show.
