Similar thing here. When it works it is dead on and I trust the accuracy with my life. Factory battery lasted almost a year first replacement went out after about 3 months. And I don't have a mini torque wrench to measure out 9 inch pounds and they say to put forward pressure as you're tightening the screws I guess so ridge in the pistol slide holds it in place and it doesn't shift side to side. But sometimes when I'm shooting or I send the slide forward empty or I put it to a certain tightness it goes out. Again accurate dot and when it works it works and I know at least my first shot will certainly be accurate if I do my part but I don't have a warm fuzzy with the possibility of the dot going out in the middle of a fight. I think dots are strictly better than iron sights, my opinion, but I'm going to be looking into something more reliable soon. It just feels finicky at times. It has something to do with the battery contact I'm pretty sure. The p365 xl itself is an excellent little piece that I trust my life with it is exceptionally reliable. But 75-85 percent reliability generally speaking from my experience is not satisfactory for long term personal defense. It'll hold the line until I get a trijicon or holosun
Same here. It’s supposed to turn off after 2 minutes of no movement. And mine doesn’t turn on with movement. And I seem to be having trouble with the button. I find it best to use the little Allen wrench to better press it. I use my finger and it doesn’t turn off. But it will work with the Allen wrench. I can feel me pressing it with my finger but it just doesn’t do anything.

Tip.....you can shut the dot off by holding the brightness button for about two seconds. Same process to turn it back on. This seems to override the motion activation. I thought my battery was dead so I turned it off and waited a few minutes and picked it up....motion did not activate the dot. I then turned it on manually and set it down. The dot went off after 2 minutes of inactivity then immediately turned on after I picked it up. Sig's instructions tell you that you can turn it on and off manually but they fail to state that this feature overrides the motion activation. Hope this helps. I even tried a new battery and same results.

I just got my P365 XL with Romeo Zero Elite. The first day I went to zero in the dot and started with the elevation. Once that was adjusted the dot went all the way to the upper far right and would not move. Three Instructors at the range tried to move it. Nothing. I backed off the elevation and found I could then adjust the windage. Once that was adjusted I then could do the elevation and that seemed to work. So my advice is do the windage first. The thing is now it’s fine, I had to move it away from where I was sitting because it must be pretty darned sensitive. I moved far enough that I still see the Red Dot then after Two Minutes it went Off. But I am honestly try out the Other ones out there.
Yeah same here man I take it off and hold the battery it turns on put it on the gun and nothing. The only way that I found it to work was shimming it with a little bit of the packaging from the battery which isn’t a valid way because of it throwing it off and lifting the sight
The 365 is my EDC and I was very pleased at first with the Romeo 0. Battery life on this thing is horrible. Granted, I'm constantly on the go and not sitting around, but yeah, have to change the battery once a month at the minimum if I want it to be there when I need it. Quite disappointed in the battery life / electrical constraints of this unit.
Same problem. I even had to send the original back because after third time of replacing the battery the red dot just quit working with two different brand new batteries and they sent me a brand new one that takes a new battery every 45-60 days
Ya it should work just fine. A new battery got mine going again. I now have the Holosun 507C and prefer that, but thats a bit bigger and over twice the price.

Well my Holosun 507c has the same technology but has lasted for 20k+ hours already. Different quality I think. Thanks for the encouraging words. What pistols do you prefer?
This is invalid I just had my first issue with mine today I've had it since last Saturday I went to look through the red. And it wasn't there I took the two screws out, took the red. Off looked at it for a second temperature right back down on the battery to see if anything happened and sure enough the lasers on working fine
I like the red dot when shooting it functions great. however it is probably one of the most unreliable red dots on the market. Even if the battery doesn't run out, it will malfunction periodically requiring the battery to be removed and reinstalled. I would usually turn off the red dot manually after shooting and turn it on when I was shooting and I was using the old battery. I have just put in a new Duracell battery and left the red dot on, using the motion activated function and i will see if this makes it more reliable. There is no indicator on the battery but the red dot still had full brightness. I will update this when the battery dies and let you know how long it lasted
Buyers beware the polymer lens sucks and scratches so easy. I'm really satisfied with the swampfox sentinel I changed too. Just bumped about two C notes I dropped on the RZ
I just experienced this same issue with my 365X. After just 2 months of use (not carried everyday) on the range one day after shooting for about an Hour it just quit working. Took it home and replaced the battery and back up working again. Will probably replace it with something else.
I think a lot of people were thinking I was crapping on it. But it’s a fine range dot. Not something I would trust. Furthermore it’s made of plastic and I never felt comfortable using it to rack the slide. I have since gone to the Holosun 507c and prefer that.
I had exact same problem today with it. 365x factory installed and it appears battery died after only 1.5-2 months. I’ll try installing new battery tonight and see if comes back to life. Not very impressed…
The Sig Romeo Zero / Elite is defective. I had the same battery issue, so I sent it back to Sig and they confirmed it is defective. They have agreed to replace it, however it has been on back order for months!
I have the p365x with the Romeo zero red dot Today I had my first issue with it I've carried this gun every day since I got it this past Saturday but I was taking it off to put in the case for the night and as per usual I gave the red dot One good look through and was like okay that's weird I can usually find the dot Very fast but then I started to move it around and I couldn't see the f****** red dot Anywhere because there wasn't one so I took the two screws out looked at it put it back on with the same battery and I've been sitting here for about 30 minutes with it in the lasers doing everything it needs to but in a self-defense situation the last thing I need is to be looking for a dot That's not even f****** there👊
Ya thats the same conclusion I had reached. Its plastic, even the lens is plastic. Sig probably makes a ton on profit margins for this one. The Holosun 507k might be a much better option. I went with the 507C, it has a bit of a bigger footprint.
I have the same issue with this exact same red dot as well. I currently have it on my Sig P322, bought it in February and began having issues 2 weeks ago. I swapped out the battery, the red dot came on and worked fine. When I went to the range 2 days later it wouldn’t come back on. It’s frustrating
I had mine for about 4 months before I started having the same issues.. i was using it on my sig p365xl. it was my carry for 3/4 of those months, but then one random range trip the dot stop coming on. These Issues started out of nowhere I just stopped carrying it... I believe it was the battery I changed it out, but I just switched guns completely to my p320 with Romeo 1 pro which I like better
I did have the same issue with the one that I have the battery that came with it was just bad. After a month or every day carry the battery died. Luck for me it takes the same battery as my vortex venom so I just grabbed one of the 20 batteries I accidentally ordered and I haven’t had a problem out of it after that but it has only been 3 weeks since that happened. My problem is I can’t find a replacement adhesive cover for the battery.
I just got mine out and shot it yday, adjusted elevation and windage at home and got to the range and it was sighted perfect lol. How lucky I was like heck yea. Then my problems started The red dot was gone all of a sudden, check tightness of the screws and they were barely loose. So I said ok I’ll blue loctite it and hopefully that’ll fix my problem Now the brightness won’t adjust either, when I take the optic off it adjusts fine. When it’s on the gun it won’t adjust hardly at all
So I don’t know, I’m old school and love iron sights and I really wanted to try a red dot but this one is having some issues it seems. I love this setup and I want it to work but we’ll see what happens The film is supposed to go on the slide for sure, but even though it’s on there to keep the optic clean I wonder if it’s part of the issue with the battery
Picked mine up yesterday. Red dot didn’t work so I thought ok I’ll put in a new battery. Worked for about 5 minutes. Tried another battery. Worked until I tightened down the optic then nothing. Thinking maybe some sort of problem with the contacts. Still trying to figure it out
The issue I have with an optic not working once, is that it could happen again. If you are using this optic for any kind of self defense, I recommend at the very least incorporating backup iron sights. An even better solution would be the Holosun 507k or 407k.
@@GatCat I haven't yet, because I haven't been able to get down to the range to make sure it'll still be sighted in after a battery change. I'm just running with the irons right now.
I thought mine was dead battery but I push down in the sight and it come on if I pull up slightly or shoot it goes off like loose but screws are completely tight
It can be many different factors when it comes to this model. Sig makes some decent higher end red dots. But for this size, I’d recommend the Holosun 507k or 407k.
My battery has only lasted a few months. It pissed me off because the gun is nearly brand new and I asked my wife to do some dry fire practice and she couldn't find the dot. Motion sensor was fine and tried turning it on and off. The born date of the gun was less than 6 months to now.
It is common for the battery to sit for years before distribution. As companies will buy thousands of the batteries at a time, then include it with the newly built red dot or gun. I suggest getting some Energizer lithium’s and trying it again. If it should fail again, the Holosun 507k or 407k is amazing. Mine has last me for over 20k hours.
The 20k hr battery life is advertised at the medium brightness setting. Brighter, then the battery life goes way down. Also heard Duracell batteries are better for optics
@@nelhead4807 agreed...my 365xl came with the clear tape set on the slide, not the sight. The design is "shake awake". I wonder if that feature isnt tuned to when's person is moving around. The motion detection should be able to tell the difference.
I'm having the same issue with a romeo 1, on a p229... But I also have two other p320's with a romeo 1 on them-- with no issues at all. So it doesn't seem to happen to all of them. But for whatever reason, my p229 drains batteries, even when I manually turn it off? Maybe I just have another dud battery, but IDK at this point.
@@GatCat Yeah.. I have a 509t and 508t.. But my sigs are already cut for the romeo 1, so you can't really change it. I guess I'm going to buy an expensive battery and try one more time.. then try to warranty it.
The batteries in my Sig Romeo sight that came with my P320 RX doesn’t last 22K hours. If you carry that gun or rely on it for defense, you better use quality and change batteries every 12 months.
I run the Holosun 507c on my other handguns & have had no issues. They have the shake awake which I really like. I’m going to run the Holosun 407k on my sig P365xl if this happens again.
Yeah.. I have the 508t and 509t and they work great- no issues. I have 3 romeo 1's.. 2 are fine, but the third one keeps draining batteries; even when I "manually turn it off and put it in the case for several weeks.. I'm not sure what to do, I guess I can see if Sig will warranty it.
It’s going great. I sold it and got a Holosun 507c. The Sig unit being plastic, and built cheap is what made me switch. It could be a fine product, I just moved on.
My battery just ran out and I had the gun for 3 weeks. Who knows how long it has been moved around before I bought so we'll see how long it lasts on a fresh battery. Do you have to sight the red dot back in with every battery change or does it hold zero once reinstalled?
Just picked mine up this morning already installed on a Sig P365 XL. No dot/power. Put in the extra battery that came with the pistol. NOTHING!!! what a joke
Well I’m on my second site I haven’t been able to shot the gun long enough to ware out the battery I couldn’t zero it up or side to side sig is sending me another one and they are setting it up for 12.5 yards so we will see also the do is very unclear they tell me because I wear glasses And have a stigmatism that’s why it’s not round I don’t know but I’ll try another one and if it doesn’t work I’ll get iron sites or a holosun 507 K
I went with the 507C on my Glock 19 and prefer it much more. This sight just isn’t robust enough for me to have confidence in it. Especially on a carry gun.
I got one on a 365 XL I shot 100 rounds and it wouldn’t hold zero the next day and the dot was blurred so I sent it back to sig I know this a old video I hope you have good luck with the battery I don’t think 🤔 to carry it that the battery will last very much longer
Anyone have the issue of it not turning off automatically? Mine will turn off if I hold the brightness button but the auto on/off doesn't work for some reason anyone have any idea I would appreciate it
@@backlash00 ya I see your point. However with their claim of 20,000 of runtime? I’ve had a much better experience with the 507C. I’ll never by a romeo 0 again. Not only for the battery. I had various issues. To each their own. Do you have a channel?
Do you have any idea how irritating it is when you waste our time watching you clear your weapon online? Oops, I forgot the red dot laser can project the bullet through the internet and potentially hit a viewer..! Sig is new to optics and there battery life doesn’t compare to other companies. Sig will make every excuse possible (see video below) but bottom line their optics have SHORT BATTERY LIFE. My Romeo 1 battery will last 6 months, my Holosun 2 years, my RMR 3-4 years (haven’t owned the Romeo Zero long yet). I'm having a similar problem. I just installed mine, shot it today, brand new. Motion activated, shot a couple rounds and it turned itself off. This kept happening the whole range day. I'm wondering if somehow I didn't seat the battery perfect. *UPDATE*. I noticed that the slot that holds the battery seemed a bit TOO recessed. I shimmed it by adding a little piece of tagboard material between it and it works perfectly now. I've shot it on multiple occasions and no problems whatsoever. These seem to just have the battery cavity slightly too recessed.
The battery shouldn’t need to be seated perfectly however they did provide adhesive to keep the battery in. Also, what gun are you using this with? If its the hellcat, you need to use different screws (or cut the ones you’ve got). Otherwise, the red dot will most certainly turn off from height of the screws.
@@GatCat I am running it on a brand new SIG P365XL. The gun has been amazing. I used the adhesive strip to seat the battery. I used the appropriate screw set for the XL.

I had exact same problem today with it. 365x factory installed and it appears battery died after only 1.5-2 months. I’ll try installing new battery tonight and see if comes back to life. Not very impressed…
Similar thing happened to me on the factory battery. I'm on the first replacement we will see how it goes
My Romeo zero worked flawlessly for 2 years, then it stopped. I changed the battery, and it worked for 3 months.
And then....?
Wait....the R0 hasn't been OUT for 2 years.
I have the same issue with this exact same red dot as well. I currently have it on my Sig P322, bought it in February and began having issues 2 weeks ago. I swapped out the battery, the red dot came on and worked fine. When I went to the range 2 days later it wouldn’t come back on. It’s frustrating
The clear sticker goes on the gun, not the optic, its to keep blow back from getting into the optic.
Thanks for tip. In that regard, would it not work the same way?
Same issue. Mine was rarely carried and left in a drawer so I assume it was off most of the time. Died in under 2 months. The battery was brand new.
Mine only 3 weeks, then died. No solution yet. Will reach out to Sig when I have time.
Just put a new battery in there. Sig will tell you the same.
Mine does not have the plastic piece. Wonder if I should contact them.
8 months, died just now.
Then my problems started
The red dot was gone all of a sudden, check tightness of the screws and they were barely loose. So I said ok I’ll blue loctite it and hopefully that’ll fix my problem
Now the brightness won’t adjust either, when I take the optic off it adjusts fine. When it’s on the gun it won’t adjust hardly at all
So I don’t know, I’m old school and love iron sights and I really wanted to try a red dot but this one is having some issues it seems. I love this setup and I want it to work but we’ll see what happens
The film is supposed to go on the slide for sure, but even though it’s on there to keep the optic clean I wonder if it’s part of the issue with the battery
Mine also stopped three months in! It just turned off one day out of nowhere!
Did you replace the battery?
My battery was set to 2 below that. No biggie. I probably had a bad battery. That’s all.
According to sig that clear tape is supposed to go on your slide not the red dot itself just an fyi.
No I don’t think so. That wouldn’t make send.
GatCat if you buy a new p365xl with a Romeo zero on it that’s how it’s installed from the factory.
@@nelhead4807 ok, thanks for tip :) I don’t think it applies to my issue but I’ll look into it.
@@nelhead4807 agreed...my 365xl came with the clear tape set on the slide, not the sight.
The design is "shake awake". I wonder if that feature isnt tuned to when's person is moving around. The motion detection should be able to tell the difference.
Marcelo Lopez it’s always on if your in motion even in a car.
It is odd. check out Holosun.
12 months would be great. I had planned on changing every 6 months.
I run the Holosun 507c on my other handguns & have had no issues. They have the shake awake which I really like.
I’m going to run the Holosun 407k on my sig P365xl if this happens again.
Good call.
How’s it going? Any updates?
It’s going great. I sold it and got a Holosun 507c. The Sig unit being plastic, and built cheap is what made me switch. It could be a fine product, I just moved on.
My battery just ran out and I had the gun for 3 weeks. Who knows how long it has been moved around before I bought so we'll see how long it lasts on a fresh battery.
Do you have to sight the red dot back in with every battery change or does it hold zero once reinstalled?
Maybe they came across a bad batch of batteries from Sig.
3 months and same battery this far.
Just picked mine up this morning already installed on a Sig P365 XL. No dot/power. Put in the extra battery that came with the pistol. NOTHING!!! what a joke
I actual found out that it DOES have a power button. Works great now. Haha
I have since sold it and got a Holosun 507. I like that much more. I will probably not get another Romeo 0 again.
Well I sent it back to sig I hope they will fix it or send me a new one
Anyone have the issue of it not turning off automatically? Mine will turn off if I hold the brightness button but the auto on/off doesn't work for some reason anyone have any idea I would appreciate it
They are all like this.
My battery died too!
Ya its frustrating, I recently saw a Holosun 407k for $220, I wish I had gone with that.
My battery only lasted 4 months
Thanks for sharing, it’s hard to trust something with such a short battery life. I just have to remember to turn it off when I’m not using it.
Gone through 4 batteries in 6 1/2 months
Wow. Ya that’s not going to cut it for a defensive sight. Not a chance.
It’s also on EDC P320. The issue resides in the fact a slight bump activates sight.
Video was premature, should have chamgetvthe battery first. Mine came with two batteries.
I made no definitive statements, it was an observation from the factory.
@@GatCat OH, my flashlight quit. I think I'll make a video saying this brand has battery issues before changing the fucking battery.
@@backlash00 ya I see your point. However with their claim of 20,000 of runtime? I’ve had a much better experience with the 507C. I’ll never by a romeo 0 again. Not only for the battery. I had various issues. To each their own. Do you have a channel?
I put my battery in last week it's already dead
Do you have any idea how irritating it is when you waste our time watching you clear your weapon online? Oops, I forgot the red dot laser can project the bullet through the internet and potentially hit a viewer..!
Sig is new to optics and there battery life doesn’t compare to other companies. Sig will make every excuse possible (see video below) but bottom line their optics have SHORT BATTERY LIFE. My Romeo 1 battery will last 6 months, my Holosun 2 years, my RMR 3-4 years (haven’t owned the Romeo Zero long yet). That doesn’t mean I don’t love my Romeo 1 & Romeo Zero but I do have to remember to change out the batteries.

20,000 hours of runtime. Advertised by sig. Thats what I was speaking to. I have since sold the gun and the red dot. Not because I didn’t like it. Have a good one buddy. Don’t get so worked up over nothing. I didn’t force you to watch anything. I didn’t waste your time. Don’t be rude.
@@Blindsyde5762 ya that is strange. This red dot was designed specifically for the XL. You can contact sig, but they will just want you to send them the red dot.
@@GatCat I'll be contacting them Monday. Funny, today I also had the front bead sight fall out of my new Colt King Cobra revolver. Everything ran beautiful today except the optics on both guns lol.
@@Blindsyde5762 it sucks when things don’t work right. I had a smith and Wesson shield that I had to send back. Then I sold it because I couldn’t trust it. Guns aren’t like cars where we can just fix em until the next time they break. At least I can’t do that with defensive guns I trust my life to. I hope Colt takes care of you too. That is a really nice gun. What barrel length?
