JTP was low on the bank, multiple corrections, puts 2 tires off in outside zone, gets 36/40 for line and total 90 points....wtf FD judging at its finest.
Show me one screenshot where he is ever low on the bank. He is on a mid-high to high line on the bank. You are not watching the same run we are. He had one barely noticeable correction with the front wheels at IC2 and he dropped two tires for a very short period of time and was right back at the edge of the line, perfectly on the second bank.

Judging is a kinda weird and off again lol. May not be a bad idea to get another set of judges, and average the scores of the 2 to be more consistent.

I'm not one to complain usually but wow these scores were all over the place and the judging didn't seem consistent at all throughout the whole qualifying

Adam is in a brand new car in his 3rd round ever. All things considered, he’s doing well. And he’s a content creator that drives right hand drive cars as well.

2:02:28 And this ladies and gentlemen is why Formula Drift have the reputation of having fixed scores. Even they were both speechless at how low the score was but knew they couldn't say anything about it. Such a shame seeing sports sell out, especially when you've literally watched it gradually get worse and worse. Nothing stays good forever.
I think it was how on and off throttle he was, and he was basically 2 tires over the line the entire last outside section. But his score should have been more than a 79.
I think it was fine tho. Bank run was pretty good, but first inside clip he missed with his front tire barely reaching the first line, second inside clip he was off a bit then on outside zone 2 it looked like he had both tires off.
The scoring on this sure does favor alot of og drivers 🤦🏽♂️

Wow. Adam almost failed to qualify. Dude needs to get it together. He's completely screwed for tomorrow. He has to go against Freddy so its looking like another top 32 knock out for our boy.
The thing is is they were throwing some huge scores out for run that shouldent have big scores fd judging is such a joke it’s nothing but give scores to people they want in

Judging is suspicious. To much talk on certain drivers and it feels bias. Just my thoughts

You guys need to put the cones that flap around on outside zone 2 or paint it double line With the hash marks because this single line nonsense is silly

When does judging ever seem constant ??? Can’t believe some of these scores!?
It's always the first three runs get the biggest scores lol, love the drift comp but judging need a tweak. Look at the last two years the first runs alway get the top scores
i believe they go by last years championship on who goes first to qualify, but usually the first drivers are really good veterans and they can throw some good lines
Ya, exactly. And when we ran it in reverse order it wasn’t typically the last three. The best people score the highest. Why is that hard to understand?
The last outside line is almost completely gone aren't we able to repaint it?
First guy that hits it, takes the paint with it. How long to do want qualifying to be?
1:41:07 it is a different engine... he had kinda of a stock engine in the first year... got some help and so on... this year he had a 1200 HP engine, and running 1000 wheel was kinda at the absolute limit of the engine, so his mechanics/team told him to get a 1800hp engine... and i think they are running 1000-1200 whp... so yeah it is a beast, in therms of power at the same level of any other car now, with no problem... he had still some supercharger issues and so on... but the car is another beast... plus after the work drifthq also did... the car is very competitive, he just needs to settle in and learn more about the car, some practice too... but yes it isnt the same anymore xD (i know because im portuguese and i follow his videos...)

I wish the judges didn’t base their scores off of the drivers name sponsors etc… I wonder how the field would end up if every driver had to qualify in the same car wearing a black helmet and not revealing the name of the driver to the judges till after they’re all scored.

The scoring is all over the place, it’s inconsistent and seems to heavily favor the drivers deemed most popular.
I don't know about that. They gave beechum an 88 after that bobble and coming off throttle and almost straightening after the jump... And they scored LZ, whos croud favorite a 87 who had a better line and no bobble. So not sure it's a favorites game.
@@rickrussell579 they might use some other criteria than crowd fav. Maybe it’s just the scoring system that favours certain types of drivers/driving styles. Anyway, something is creating that inconsistency and unpredictable outcome.
The judging is pretty atrocious, and I do NOT like hearing the judging as part of the commentary. Making it too clinical ruins it for me.

Formula drift should take note of how drift masters judge. The judging is way more consistent, too many questionable decisions for me
Lmfao how is Denofas run a 93 with hitting the wall, straightening on the bank, then going too far outside on the 2nd outside zones? It doesn't make sense. Every FD qualifying it's new BS.
Denofa last race shouldn't have bin a omt tho either...so he got fucked last race

TL;DR; Cheating the line needs to be penalised more.
I saw some comments about the scoring before watching and thought it was going to be unfair on the judges but there might be something there.
It is not easy being a judge and you are going to get scrutinised a lot but these people are professionals and are very experienced. I don't think they should be replaced. I really like having Ryan commentating. As a layperson it's great to get that feedback to know why they are seeing that I might not be and how to think like a judge.
The one thing that I think messed up the scores here is that bad line wasn't getting enough points deducted. Drivers who were clearly cheating the line but getting bigger angle and/or style were still scoring 35+ on line and scoring 27+ on angle and style and getting 90+ in total. Driver who had better line but less angle and/or style were getting 37+ on line but only getting at most 25 on angle and style putting them

Now you know why Vaughn won’t let Adam have his phone during practice, qualifying and that! He may need to quit driving all his right hand drive cars and start getting serious about the mustang. Already been established that Vaughn wants him in attack mode during these entire weekends and to have a “pro” driver and the team owner has to tell him he can’t have his phone at times throughout the weekend makes you wonder if he’s more worried about the race or content. Just my opinion
That’s Vaughn’s rule for any driver. Himself, Chelsea, and Adam? Lol. So how can you say his phone is why he botched his first run 🤔. It’s a new chassis. And his 3rd round. Go back to Chelsea and Vaughn’s first few seasons in the rtr’s. Just saying. 🤷🏼

No, all the drivers do one qualifying run and then the 8 drivers with the lowest score get a chance to do a second run to avoid getting knocked out.

they should just use computer generated scoring which D1 and Euro do for qualifying which is alot more fair, Euro comp is all marked out every sections and clip point. stop talking about a jump thats just a bump in the road so cut it out

He flip flops and praises one driver for left foot braking, then next run calling someone out because they are left foot braking... Judging hasn't changed much always been 💩

Yes ppl will interpret things differently doesn't change the fact he is biased in his decisions and that comment proves it. As left foot braking for others is seen as detrimental to their run.
