I got mine for free out of the trash at work, lol. I'm a school custodian, and I love using the datavac for picking up spiderwebs and crumbs and other light debris. The watts are low enough that you can pair it with a milwaukee power inverter, so you're not limited to the power outlet.
When blowing a PC fan you should put stopper on it, it will damage your fan in the long run. better dusting a PC outside your house otherwise the dust and dirt will circulate in your house.

how often do you have to replace the filter?
I haven't had to yet. If you just use the blower mode you shouldn't have to change it as long as you keep it clean.
