I used to play fishingplanet, but I got to a point where it was impossible to level up without getting premium, or fishing for white stergen many multiple hours each day. Then I got this game, and I only played for a couple hours a day and I still could go anywhere I wanted (exempt for the dlc maps.) I could fish for mostly anything I wanted The only thing I like about fishingplanet more then fishing simulator is that fishingplanet has a lot more species of fish.
Yep! The Sturgeon grind is a breaking point for a lot of people. The game improves after that for sure- with Weeping Willows, Blue Crab, and eventually the other South American maps
I love the new intro! You can move the rod right to left when casting. I cannot remember the keybindings for that, but it is easily done on a controller with the stick. The little crowns on your score indicate that that particular fish is your personal best for the species. I love FSW; no, it is not Fishing Planet, but it is great if you just want to chill with a drink and play some games for awhile.

Oh yeah, its got a similar, theHunter Classic vs. theHunter Call of the Wild vibe going on in comparison to Fishing Planet. At this moment, though- I still think Fishing Planet is a better game... even if this game may be truer to life.
Yes this game has really good graphics, so does Fishing Planet. But one thing I love about this game over Fishing Planet is how much detail they put into the fish graphics. Notice how every bass that he caught looked different, as it would in real life, unlike Fishing Planet where every fish has the same graphics.
