      its only music part, easy to tell loooong burn in time, but then much better staging, timbres, details and staging... lets say, for me very important, for others it depends on their rig quality..cheers Mike

    Great modification! Is there a reason you choose the none NCF for the schuko sockets?
    For me the NCF makes the rhodium more natural. :)

      Hi, I wanted to keep the modification inexpensive and remove the bottleneck. This worked out because everything I was missing is now there. The mixture makes it just like a good cuvee...cheers Mike

    Thank you Mike for this great tip! I own this product, and it's excellent, but i agree the stock plugs are cheap.
    I just wish there was a round Furutech plug in the USA.

      Is it a mistake, that the iec inlet is not Gold played?

    I have the PSM156 along with Puritan power cords.. I hear on forums some people with the Puritan power cords also replace the plastic connectors with Furutech connectors for improved sonic results.

    • @headquarteraudio5388
      @headquarteraudio5388  Год назад +1

      yes, but the cable itself is cheap stuff, not built with heart for music, Ultimate is much to expensive, for the price Tubulus Concentus is Audiophile Heaven... Furutech Plugs with big metall bar for fixing the cable are soundkiller. cheers Mike

      @connorduke4619 Год назад

      @@headquarteraudio5388 Thanks for the tips. I found Ultimate too expensive and went for Classic Plus, the silicon dielectric is scientifically better than most cables. If Tubulus power cords are even better, I will consider them in future. I earlier bought Tubulus Argentus to connect my CD transport (CD 9000CDT) to Dac (Teac NT-503) and that really improved the fullness of each note. For now the centrepiece of my system remains the Marantz PM-11S2, according to most experts the best integrated amplifiier Ken Ishiwata ever designed and very difficult to :"upgrade" from once you've had it in your system as the bass and mids are almost unbeatable (to my ears) and with good cabling the treble is more than satisfactory - natural with no "showroom" exaggeration.

    Cant you just skip the power inlet completely by soldering a power cable directly to the inside of the device. And what is the deal with all the rubber for the sound?

    • @headquarteraudio5388
      @headquarteraudio5388  Год назад

      You can do that, but you need a good fixing for the cord, because you will brake the Board if you give force by cable to it. Because of that normally it is a forbidden way... rubber to parts and case will kill musicality, timbres and speed/dynamics, music is boring. Cheers Mike

    Great mods thanks for sharing. I just got a 156 and the think I am not linking is the absence of bass weight. It really seems to thin the music out a bunch. Does this have a long break in time or has anyone else noticed this?

      Hi, break in 14 days, up and downs in SQ, sometimes more precise bass feels like abscence of bass. Maybe change plug position of devices in the 156

      @@headquarteraudio5388 Question - given the choice, would you go for FI-33 NCF (Rhodium as in video) or FI-33 (G) (Gold)?
      Gold has twice as good electrical conductivity as Rhodium (at least), so not sure what's the fuss with Rhodium plating these days (as on my Bowers & Wilkins signature terminals or my Audiomica cables). I understand it's only thin plating (so the copper conductor beneath counts as well), but still - is shiny and smooth, not having precision tight contact as soft gold has. So genuine question - if wear&tear and oxidation is not relevant (I plug once and forever stays, clean with Kontak), GOLD or RHODIUM please? Also, did you require any soldering with Furutech inlets?.
      I only have one PSM 156 - and currently experiencing substantial detail smear / aliasing (half year burning) in the music when my amp is connected (dual E-core transformers, non torroid). Weird, as it should not affect musical signal.
      When I also plug DAC as well to Puritan, detail smering is enormous, aliasing is so bad as watercolor sound so I keep it out. I am wondering if this mod will help. DAC is having SMP power supply with own filtering - might be why it doesn't play well.

      Thanks for video content, did you decided on gold or rhodium fi33?
      Do you use the puritan ground master and route master? Are you using a 20amp of 15 amp outlet and is you outlet an upgraded furutech?
