She is 100% colombian, born and raise in Barranquilla city. Her lebanese roots are from his father who also is colombian but Lebanon heritage. Her moves are not only come from her middle east heritage, but also from African and caribean colombia, where people of this part of Colombia dance before learning to walk since at very young age.

The part of Colombia she was born there is a high population of Lebaneses and Turkeys, so there is a whole mixture between people from Spain, middle eastern, afro and latinos.

Actually, Shakira's father is Lebanese and her mother is Columbian. Shakira was born and raised in Barranqilla, Colombia. She started belly dancing at age 5. She wrote her first song at 8 years old. In school she was rejected in the choir because her vibrato was too strong; the teacher said she sounded like a goat. Shakira debut album was in 1990 at the age of 13. Shakira starred in Oasis, a Colombian soap opera. In 1995 she had her first international hit Dónde estás corazón?...at the age of 19. Until then, she only had local hits. In 2001she crossed over to the English market with "Wherever, whenever". She recorded it in Spanish and English ( she did this with several of her albums). Shakira plays the Harmonica, drums, guitar, keyboard, and Cajon. And, she speaks 7 languages. Shakira has two children with her partner of 10 years, Spanish soccer player ⚽️ Girad Piqué. Shakira is one 43 years old. Her most recent single is "Girl like me", with the Black Eye Peas.

Shakira was born and raised in Barranquilla Colombia. Her father was born in New York but with Lebanese background. Then he moved to Colombia where he met Shakira's mother (also Colombian) got married to her, and Shakira came to the world. Of course Shakira has that Lebanese heritage and love for the culture of her Dad. She actually started doing the belly dance when she was only 8 years old, and learned some of the Arabic language. Shakira's native tongue is spanish, but she also speaks 5 more languages. She's very intelligent. And one of the reason she's so sucessfull it's due to she sings in spanish-english and her fans and market are massive. She also combines very well different rhytms from all over the world. she can sing rock, pop, dance, latin music, basically any genre. Shot-out guys n great reaction!
