Scuba Diver Rescues Whale Friend with Ropes Tied Tightly Around Lower Jaw || Dogtooth Media

- A brave diver saved a 'frightened' giant sperm whale that he has 'known' for a decade - by slashing through ropes that had become wrapped around its lower jaw and anchored to the bottom of the ocean.
After Hugues Vitry heard about a tired whale dragging a line of buoys eight miles off Mauritius on May 15, he knew he had to help the stranded animal, which he had been following since it was born in 2011.
Hugues jumped into the water alongside the 10 metre long giant and quickly spotted its jaw was entangled with rope that disappeared more than 2,000 metres to the Indian Ocean floor - dragging the poor creature's mouth wide open.

you watched the video to the end because he never managed to save the whale, he eventually sank to the bottom with a rope tied
@@Pomorchik the captions in the video say the rope floated to the surface after he dived
Agreed! Thank you so much!
@@stickmanblubbles4489 The fact is that you are very trusting of everything they say... tell me how a rope can float up if in the video it was clearly visible that a hundred trawls were pulling down the poor animal’s lower jaw with its weight. if you really look at things, the diver was not able to save the whale, but everything is possible because some of the trawl parts were made of iron and they did not succumb to the knife.
This is just heartbreaking. Thank you for working so hard to free this majestic creature.
Well done to that diver sadly the seas are full of our rubbish

The world needs more human beings like this man
The world could do without any humans
we need to BE more like this man.
Humans caused this, polluting the ocean and everything else
The world needs less human beings.
Well it would certainly help a lot if less people were of afraid of diving into deep water. Let alone brave enough to even swim up to a giant marine creature in distress.
I'm quite sure that whale will recognize you in the future and show its appreciation. Thank you so much for helping.
Thank you for being decent human beings. It seems strange thanking someone for that, but in today's world, I don't think we see enough of it.
I'm sure if you search for it you will find plenty
The amount of gullible people in this comment section is unbelievable... The whale dives deeper, the rope magically untangles itself minutes later and floated the top. None of it caught on film though.. Even though one diver had to video so bad, he'd rather do that than help. Doesn't make any sense
Man I am so sick of the shit humans throw out.
Did he cut the rope? I see the end. Its till with rope

Hello 👋how are you doing?
Your deity doesn't have the monopoly on moral compass. Leave it be.
@@crystaladmin2632Oh but he does. No worries though. Jesus came to save the world and He did just that. Jesus Saves “All”!
Let'st stop dealing with silly fables and myths and deal in reality...heaven and hell are right here on Earth and it's up to all of us to make this place a heaven for us and the creatures who live here too.
There's a special place in heaven for people like this. And those who called for help.
Humans claim to be the most intelligent species , however , we do the most damage to animals and each other. Kudos for what you did,
I am sure this animal was grateful for that kindness.
Thank you for keeping the original, naturally recorded audio and not blasting "inspirational" music the whole time....also, thank you for including text explanations, instead of playing some rando's narration over it. I'd much rather read text while listening to the underwater sounds! (And if I have to listen to people speak over the video, it at least better be the individuals actually involved, the ones currently on screen.) ❤
Quick edit: I didn't mean to sound angry in this comment, I was actually just trying to be positive, but failed to communicate my tone! I am not actually this negative in real life don't worry lol. I like lots of videos that do fall under my "shitty" description.
For example, I think The Dodo usually does a good job at balancing the perfect level of background music over their videos, they're expertly mixed, and when there is a narrator, they always have the narration done by the people actually involved in the scene they're narrating over.
But, you know why The Dodo manages to pull this off while other channels fail? The Dodo has a sizable production team that they can afford to pay...full of talented hardworking people, who spend the time, money, and labor required to edit and mix the audio...and to track down the individuals involved with the video, then film & record Skype interviews with them, and then carefully incorporate it into their videos. You know how much time and work that takes to coordinate and schedule and then complete?? It's a lot!
The Dodo has a group of talented individuals who put a lot of time & hard work into their videos. A small channel cannot pull this off. That's why we get so many videos with loud free "inspirational" music blasted over it, with a random guy loudly narrating over the whole thing. (And I put "Inspirational" in quotes because that's the name of the category used by libraries of free music. The quotations weren't there to say I dislike the music used.)
I appreciate this video, because I don't think this channel could have pulled off what The Dodo could pull off with these same clips. So instead of trying to incorporate music, they just let the real audio play. And instead of putting in poorly recorded audio of narration that's not well mixed, they just stuck with large text explaining everything.
And I appreciate that!
Un evento fantastico, più unico che raro. Il sub un eroe. Eccezionale anche il video
Thanks y'all who saved this wonderful whale. who or what could of done this to this beautiful whale.

no shit... The Lord sure as Hell won't... never has, never will..
The Lord work is not with animals. The Bible plainly tells us what God expects from His people and that relates totally to humans. Loving one another, giving the Word unto salvation, and the number one thing Christ told us is to love Him and obey His commandments. It is a compassionate heart that goes out to help a animal in trouble but blessings come from doing for fellow man.

Props to the guy who was actually trying to help the whale. Face palm to the diving partner who just decided to film for internet recognition instead of lending a hand and making the process twice as fast.
He could be filming for just internet points, or it could be that he didn't have scissors to help. Also, with the water jostling them around, it's not a guarantee that they wouldn't stab each other. Two people don't always make a job go twice as fast.
This kind of stuff should never happened, we need to be more responsible when using those enormous nets, anchors, ropes, markings and throwing trash in to the ocean.... marine life is suffering our own actions.
Yes we take to much for granted. We need to grow up and take responsibility for our own actions. And pray to God for forgiveness because your going to need it. Same as me .so there.
The damage they do by dragging huge nets along the sea floor is permanent. Eith coming food crisis worldwide we eill see much more abuse and destruction.

But naturally it's all due to dumping
Nice to see that there's still simple kindness and humanity in the world. Thanks for posting.
Thank you to the divers. Whales are beautiful.
May God bless the courageous divers and all authorities who participated in this rescue operation!
Sadly Michael it’s only getting worse. I believe all the companies selling plastics and the companies using plastics to sell their products in should be mainly responsible for worldwide clean up. Add a deposit on all plastic containers that people can get back like they used to do with soda bottles and watch the plastic problem disappear. So far all most people do is complain. Sad.
@@lindajackson618 real recycling is a solution too. We recycle every single piece of plastic, metal and cardboard that comes into our house and if the recycle bin gets full plastic takes priority. But I’ve read that even though plastic bottles are turned in for recycling few recyclers have the capability of recycling them, so they end up in a landfill anyway. I have no idea what happens to the ones we turn in. Also, many places don’t offer recycling. We live outside city limits in a rural area, but the garbage people we contract with do recycling. But the nearby town we did live in and that my mother and my daughter live in used to do recycling with their trash pick up, but discontinued it a couple of years ago. So that’s 50,000 people who can no longer recycle anything at all. That’s a lot of bottles going to the landfill.
But again, the bigger problem is the issue of recyclers not being able to recycle bottles. Every single recycler needs to have that capability. Perhaps as the government is pushing and subsidizing the development of other green initiatives, they should subsidize getting that capability up and running.

they are VERY careful when swimming close to us though. For example often Dr Ingrid Visser swims with Orca's off her native New Zealand and they are VERY careful around her because for one thing she's free diving not SCUBA. They all know her though! Yeah whole pod shows up. Amazing.
Yes because we don't need to be oversized as shit to survive, and destroy anything we need to

Thanks for taking care of animals.
How did the rope get TIED to the sea floor?? Did someone do this intentionally?? Thank you to all who rescue animals ♥️♥️♥️ Edit: did he successfully free the whale?
A human did it. They showed and said there were also metal shackles on the jaw. Like a Saw style serial killer but the victims are whales? Seems unlikely.
Given that it was set up to hold the whale just under the surface to allow it to breathe, I'm guessing this was a staged rescue. Like the 'rescue' channels out of India setting dogs on fire and drowning cats just to film a profitable rescue video. How on earth anyone could catch this whale to do this is beyond me.
The whale dived as soon as he could to get away from the man. I don't buy that this man just happened to be friends with this exact whale and just coincidentally got called to save him. Don't buy he got spooked by a boat either.
Sadly, I think the whale had broken its jaw trying to escape. This video never shows the whale resurfacing without the ropes, and another comment claimed the whale died, which seems likely.
If they staged this, I hope they get eaten by something next time they dare to enter the ocean.
