Welp, just like Eaton Canyon expect it to be trashed now that the word is out. Growing up in Pasadena I went to Eaton Canyon as a kid all the time. People and kids respected its beauty. A few years ago I went back to see the falls after about 30 years and was heartbroken to see one of the mountainsides trashed with graffiti and litter.
You had ONE thing to get right, and you got it WRONG. It’s called Eagle Rock because it’s shaped like the head of an eagle, not because of some tiny, inconspicuous and questionable marking of an eagle “about to take flight.” Is the editor at CBS LA on vacation or does poor content like this piece get published routinely?
Nope... grew up there and it's you who made a simple mistake. The flying eagle is right there on the high school Totem, if you want to see what it resembles when the light hits the rock from a certain angle, by the way. Maine says hello.
@@willoughby1888 Exactly , i grew up there and this comment was wrong, it was never said to be a head of a eagle but a eagle flying or taking off or if you might even landing. Also it never looked like a head to me from all the years I lived there.
Not knowing about this is a reflection of the ignorance current Angelenos have about their own city. People nowadays are only concerned with self promotion.
I'm a Scot, i was in Eagle Rock way back in 1980. The rock was badly photographed, google it, there are better photos of the eagle than this lot managed.
I never knew that Eagle Rock was actually based on an actual rock that looks like an eagle. Cool 😎
You not a native

Glacial cast off from the ice age.
I can see the Eagle in this Video...Pretty cool...
When I was little, I thought it resembled an elephant's head. Now I stand corrected.

Hey aerofart! Your snark didn't age well. You should have come back and owned your mistake when you were corrected by commenters who know.

@@68blues Thanks, but my father went to Eagle Rock High, and my church is in Eagle Rock, so I kinda know first hand.
