Scout DARK WEB LORD CONFIRMED
@@slidenaway wtf is a TOR password?
@@vancetuber7305 en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tor_(network)
@@slidenaway ok but where does a password come into play?
@@vancetuber7305 I mean Tor itself doesn't require a password, so either Scout is NOT actually a dark web lord and doesn't know that, or he's just using it as shorthand because "dark web password" sounds pretty dumb?
I don't care if the games are old, I haven't seen them! These recaps are great at any time you want to do them.
I can't keep up or ever watch at all on Twitch now, so I love these recaps even if they are late. It's how I know what is going on with classic Tetris.
Yes
Alex Thach did well in this tournament. Very proud of him. Hopefully in the months to come he will keep up this high level of gameplay and be able to keep winning like this. Alex Thach has unlocked a new level with his beyond human hypertapping speed and we will be very excited to see his progress!
Thank you! I will continue beating these rollers!

It’s great to see Sharky in the spotlight again. Thanks for your quality content Scout!
Sharky is my favourite underwater host 💛
Tetris is the only game I know of that has different high score ranks based on HOW YOU HOLD THE CONTROLLER??? Wait, WHAT? But indeed, somehow it seems totally justified to make that seperation!
Man, the best das performance to date still got 3-0ed. Rolling really has changed the game completely.
7:21 hahah, looks like Cheez just guitar solos into the Mullen realm
I play modern but what Myles said about everything just suddenly clicking after not improving for a while rings so true honestly. I don’t really see much gradual improvement but one day I’ll just wake up like a totally different player observing myself making better decisions and quicker decisions
I'm honored to be the only player to take a game off of Alex T in that masters tournament!
Heh heh heh heh
Congrats on the sponsor man! You deserve it. These videos seem to be very intensive to create and it's much appreciated. Keep it going man!
"I can actually make graphs showing the progression of several key metrics over the past year and make projections on what is going to happen next." Spoken with extreme excitement not about evolution of AI, forecasting sales data, or COVID infection rates. No, this was spoken about 1989 Nintendo Tetris in the year 2022. And I shared the speaker's excitement.
Late but great recap! Those highlights of crazy digs are the best. Really shows the insane skill levels of the top players. Amazing to see this development in such an old game..
It's crazy to see how the Tetris scene has changed so immensely since you started the documentaries. At that time, it was mainly older people who had played the game earlier on in their lives, and now the competing audience is so young. Also, it's very wholesome to see that the Tetris community is so accepting of newer and younger players, I hope it stays that way and we can reach greater heights together!
I don't think the community has much of a choice... the game is now largely dominated by teens and tweens. If anything, it'll be interesting to see if the kids today are still accepting of the older generation in years to come. Or if the trend even continues.
Screw actually paying attention to the party, I’m watching this
So happy you're posting multiple videos again! Seeing all the great length of effort the Tetris community put into 2022 with the rolling style, I'm enjoying your point of view on this matter!
0:35 kinda crazy how Alex’s score today would not even get you into the masters event
you can see potential CTWC contenders last year duking it out in...... Futures bracket, things have been very cracked lately
Absolutely loved the rhubarb cameo
Thanks for making these videos. As someone new to the CTM scene this summarized commentary is very helpful. I don’t think I have the speed or coordination to be a great player, but I enjoy seeing how others are pushing the limits of this game.
Thank you so much for all the great content my guy!! You never miss!!
Wow, great stuff! Really looking forward to that line cap video and seeing your statistics.
All your videos are amazing! Whenever your video pops up in my notification i get excited because I know it's going to be amazing
i keep forgetting how good the intro sounds
ngl it was pretty nostalgic pulling out all the graphics sounds and templates while editing after not doing it for 8 months
The line cap video sounds very interesting! I look forwards to it already :D
Super smooth Ad advertisement you did there lol. Keep up the good work sir

Love this channel. Hoping one day I can find one about Pac Man Championship and learn everything I’m doing wrong.

I don't even play NES tetris, but I still always watch your videoes since 2018
THEY ARE BACK
NEW VIDEO! YESS
How is line capping even a discussion? Kill screen play is some of the most exciting tetris you can watch, assuming it's head to head and not just one person mullening it out.
with the reintroduction of live irl tournaments it's eventually going to become a big issue since we cant have games potentially going to level 50+ in ctwc for example where the convention runs on a limited time
That shirt is a work of Art.
sharky seems to like unique headsets and i love it

As a wrestling and classic Tetris fan I need to know where you got the TWO tshirt
oh my god thats a D on the screen
The main reason we need DAS only tournaments is, that we would see more Sharky
Jonas... Legend
I haven't followed the CTWC since 2019, sadly. So many new things! Especially rolling!
Are there already different leagues for DAS, hypertapping and rolling in the CTWC or are all styles competing in the same tournament?
No, CTWC has all 3 playstyles go head to head. There are some separate tournaments that have popped up outside of the CTWC exclusively for das players. Not sure about tap.
@@aGameScout I really have to check out the 2020 and 2021 CTWCs on RUclips!
From what I have heard about rolling so far, it sounded like it was a whole new level. Kinda like having a heavyweight against a featherweight in boxing. I remember in 2019 it was pretty balanced with DAS against hypertapping, even though Joseph was pretty far ahead against the competition in max scores.
You have the X factor, Scout.
YOOOO RECAP
Henlo
The sharp peak that goes down and goes up slowly? You mean the Dunning Kruger effect?
I can only endorse the use of password managers. Give it a shot, you won't regret it. You can also add family members or friends for a small additional fee, and have them be your backup if you would lose your master password or be hospitalized or something.
Password managers really makes your online presence so much more comfortable and gives you a new level of peace of mind.

Nice!
Hey will you be attending the tetris world championship in portland this year?
yeah
@@aGameScout DUDE IM GOING ASWELL I HOPE TO SEE YOU THERE I LOVE YOUR VIDEOS!!!!!!
Ah yeah!!!😊
As for the line cap debate, why not talk about gradually increasing the frame rate at the (no longer deadly) kill screen? Or is that option part of the debate?
Is that something they can do on console, though? I ask both out of genuine curiosity and because tournaments are held on console versions of the game so that would have to be considered, possibly.
No, it's not doable on the original console. But holding on to that old hardware is eventually going to run into problems anyway. So if you realistically think about what this could look like in, say, 20 years, then it's gonna be emulators on some form. And accepting that opens the door for solving the problem of a nonlethal kill screen. To be clear, I'm talking about keeping EVERYTHING ELSE as is in the original game, and just add a "hypermode" that basically prohibits endless staying-alive playstyle. In my opinion that's so much better than adding a timer or a line cap.
Oh my god that's a me on the screen
“Oh my god that’s a d, that’s a d on the screen”
This is huge! @aGameScout improvement of the players is so much faster than when most people were das
Randomly stumbled across this video. Just a casual Tetris guy. Can anyone tell me why the NES version is the tournament standard? Compared to arcade or Sega version or whatever.
A 2011 documentary "Ecstasy of Order" about the quest to find the world's best NES Tetris player is what kick-started the scene. It was a success, and the NES Tetris world championships became an annual event so it was what all the tournaments in the classic scene became modeled off of.

Thanks!
Line cap fix = official tournament lvl 19 start for all rounds
That doesn't fix the problem, it just gets there faster
Does Joseph not play anymore?
what happened to Joseph? It seems not active since April 2021
I would rather level 19 or 28 starts and going to a best of 3 than line cap. That is a different game.
This thumb nail is truly neck and neck
13:33 "I didn't play my *best* , but I still got a max out" . . . THIS fucking guy 🤦
wait what's the line cap thing
Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but it would be having games decided after a set number of lines (for example 100 or whatever lines after killscreen) , instead of having players "just" surviving indefinitely post level-29.

Dang that Asian kid is on a different level.
All of these guys are so humble, such a great community!
Only thing I noticed is that the new Tetris generation didn't bring around any women/girls whatsoever. Might be a topic to investigate, but probably just some gender study nobody really needs 😅
It's probable that women either don't care about it, or any women who do aren't nearly good enough to play at this level. Certainly they'd enjoy watching it, but can't cut it as players.

Aha 420.69 lol
Wait, where did my previous comment go?

Moja is better than me in scoring high
Hey, I found your videos a while ago when I got into Tetris effect and I’ve got to say, your videos are really entertaining and informational, but I just have one critique. Between of clips of Tetris and you voicing over the clips, there’s these transition clips where you are in front of the camera saying someone beat the record or something like that and it makes sense why you do it, it’s just how you do it worries me. You look into the camera, staring into our souls, your smile cheek to cheek and you look from side to side like your being held hostage and a gun to your head, after what you say what you need to say, the tone changes when your voicing the clips, more passive and chilled out than the transition clips. Now, it’s not bad, at all, it just kind of takes away from the value of the video, but I have to ask, are you okay? Its fine, I just want to know, because really, I’m scared for you. Anyways much love, rushing2game.
We definitely need a line cap of some sort, watching players line out on killscreen is sooo boring
@@Haeherfeder_ yes. L + ratio
Not yet. Killscreen is still at a point where it's exciting, and it's nowhere near consistent enough to pose a problem for competition.
agree
First 250?! Nice
RIP technoblade
New to watching tester is but I have a question about the first clip. Why was it more impressive that sharky maxed out 3 times in a row if he lost 0-3 doesn’t that mean Tristaps also got 3 max outs in a row? I don’t know what DAS is so I’m assuming it makes it more difficult to compete?
Oh wow as I continue watching the video you say exactly that 🤣 but still what is DAS?
DAS is using the built in piece movement of the game when you hold down the buttons to move the pieces to the side rather than tapping for each movement. Tristop was tapping and rolling in his games which means he had faster piece movement than Sharky. It’s much harder to get maxouts in competition with just DAS.
I think instead of a line cap, they should do something like: You need to disable the next box once you get to a ceirtan level
I would love a tournament based on line cap where you start on 18 and just stop playing entering 29 that would be so awesome #CTPT Classic Tetris Pace Tournament :P
No one’s gonna talk about how the prize was 1,420.69 cents
