Thank you very much brother, the day I struggled with my claim, waiting for legal advisers for months to assess my claims I knew I have to start taking responsibility of my life and stop outsourcing it to someone else. Three years later, I managed to save enough to cover all of my immediate family should all of them depart this world at once. Interest that money is collecting monthly far exceeds premiums I used to pay. These financial institutions buy Treasury bonds and invest our money for their benefits, we need to remind each other of these facts cause we making other people wealthy by outsourcing what we suppose to do ourselves, which is to ensure Family is financially secure and kids education is funded 18 years even before they reach university cause education plan ain't gonna cover all of it, some of these entities even liquidate lately.
Please give me more information on what you are doing/did that changed your fortunes. I’m curious to know as I’m looking to find another way of letting my money cover any challenges that I may be confronted with. I’m very weary of being let down in a time of need by these companies... And by you sharing your experience let it be known that you are not giving financial advice
@@lexxluda1874 Hi I cancelled my medical aid, funeral policy and insurance I had. My medical aid alone I was paying R3K, you know how Discovery charge it's users according to their networth not just by their earnings. Well due to work policy, I still needed to be insured ( Health wise), so I took a cheaper life insurance, this is for compliance purpose. So all the cost cutting I made, they amounted to almost R7K per month, that money had to be channeled somewhere, somewhere I could access it easily in case I needed it ASAP, so I shopped around for interest bearing accounts without fixed period, pre- covid Tyme bank was top but limited to R100K you could save, so I capitalized on it, from there I took Treasury bonds. This was just money being saved and I did calculations as to how much I need to cover all my immediate Family members should anything happen to them, so I worked towards that much. As I saved and start making interest of around R15K per annum, you soon start to realise how tax ineffective this will be once you exceed your primary tax rebate, so I convinced my Family to also open accounts with South African Retail bonds, stop paying avbob etc and channel those premiums monthly there. Our next phase is now to invest our premiums, in projects that we ( Family) will administer ourselves, my unemployed aunt now has a spaza shop, sell clothes imported from Lesotho etc. Benefit to this is that we are closer than ever as Family, we view money differently as almost everyone is involved and most importantly, we took financial matters to ourselves by insourcing back that responsibility to Family household. Exactly, I do believe in saving money for yourself in order for it to work your emergencies etc. tomorrow. car insurances, car bought on credits which simply means you cant afford but forcing things, clothing accounts( Hate those with my last nerve) not sure about medical aid but nje we are talking about employed people here, getting paid at least R10000 and more monthly. so why cant you save your own R500 or something in relation to what you get paid versus your means. these expenses are unnecessary and more and more people are getting into it. there is nothing solid that will be given to you as an alternative than insurance which I believe it was a money making scheme since the start.
One alternative is to cancel insurance and save money on your own. Just make sure if you have a car worth say 500k , you are able to have the 500k on standby as soon as you drive it out of the Dealership . And also have another 5 million on standby Incase you crash into someone’s lambo, and you have to pay for it . If you can do that , then you can give any insurance company the middle finger. The truth is that buying a car on credit itself means that you can’t afford it. On top of that, you can’t even afford to replace it yourself in case you theft or loss… that’s why you NEED insurance. That’s why banks won’t allow you to buy a car on credit and not have it insured because they know that you can’t afford to replace it in case of loss or theft. Insurance companies are not charity organisations that should be there to bail you out. Why would anyone in their right mind open a business to rescue everyone without benefiting anything. We must get rid of entitlement mentality of people expecting other people to bail them out when Ish hits the fan . No one in this world owes us anything! Insurance companies are businesses that have to make profit. Yes,they have to abide by certain rules but at their core, they are just a business like any other business, trying to make as much profit as possible. Insurers aren't in the business of towing cars, providing courtesy cars, tracking your car, etc. All of those services are value added services that they package with your insurance to provide you with a more holistic protection product. If you were to pay for all those things separately then you would be seeing bills in the 10s of thousands of rands. The premiums you pay for your insurance are extremely low if you compare it to the alternative (putting away your own money in case anything happens to your health/property/life). It is also important to consider that the only reason insurance exists is that the insurer wants to profit off of your risk aversion.
Insurance companies first responsiblility is to be solvent. Hence the investing. It wouldn't make sense if your premiums for your million Rand car, but come claims stage the insurance company can't pay your claims because they haven't got the funds to pay out. They are mandated to keep portions invested, in cash, etc. In years when they make big profits, it's boosts their solvency margins because every few years there's a major disaster that will impact those solvency margins without that cushion. I would love to chat at length about it

Can we assume that all insurance companies are like this?
Of course all of them I like that,The ones that are not go bankrupt.Actually the good ones don't exist. Its a mafia type of a thing. If u know u know.
Iqiniso nami ngiwakhansele wonke ngendaba yokuthi ngathola ukuthi ngibhadalela bona ukuthi benze imali, abakhohlwe safa ilamaqola okubuhlungu bona abakulandeleli uma udinga usizo kubo 🤷🏾♀️
So wenzani manje for insurance?
@@sheribukes3649 angenzi lutho ngikhathele ukufaka imali emqonyeni ongagcwali.

Educational 👏👏🔥
I will disagree witht this statement, my insurer has honored all my claims from car accident to house breakins all covered never paid access fee also, maybe it's been luck or something but I haven't been out of pocket for anything that went wrong with my car
That's not what Pen is arguing. He is arguing their business model and he is right. They will pay, but not everyone is lucky.
Which insurance is that?!
How many accidents and break in's did you have now? Your statements yohh
you clearly dont understand what P said. he says their model is to try their best not to pay, and in most cases they do find a way not to way because if they paid everyone they would go bankrupt. but they do pay some people
