Well after leaving an abusive job, disconnecting from abusive family members as so called friends I am finally in a healthy work situation and have a few close caring supporting friends, however in the beginning of the changes I was still feeling hurt and pain from the past. It's been a year now and I can stand to hear derogatory comments without being defensive. So I think it's nice to know I'm in control of how I'm receiving, but I also have to heal from abuse first. Now, I'm noticing when someone throws shade at me it's kind of funny. But I'm in control of life now and I really don't care how they feel about me.
Thank you for taking the time and trouble to watch and comment on our videos and work; we appreciate your interest. Sounds as though you're doing an amazing job, well done! Since a couple of videos I have the impression seeing Davids eyes that something bad is happening with his health. I hope I am wrong and I wish you all the best, because you both are amazing people doing amazing jop for benefit of the humanity🍀
I'm so determined at this point. Been on this carousel for way too long. The last few were hard bc i really thought i had finally gotten off but was told i was too ccj to myself still and that it's not enjoyable to be around. It's like idk how to have fun bc im creating defense mechanisms even when I'm not thinking i am. I need to sharpen my awareness.
When in a ‘dispute’ with someone, I think to myself, ‘I have nothing to defend’, and that is _so_ relieving! When I throw away the black and the white extremities and invite the ‘middle grey’, I feel that ‘safe zone’ in a good way. It’s non-committal to the black or the white for sure, but it’s non-committal in a healthy way where I don’t think to myself, ‘It _must_ be white’, or ‘It _must_ be black’, that it must be the extreme. The ‘middle grey’ _is_ my Shen! It invites the natural flow of the calm in the middle zone. Presumably, that is what the ‘S’ shaped line in the Wu Wei symbol is all about. Thank you so much for your enlightened insight.
Hi David and Alex, if we are to be grounded in our Shen, with reference to your answer should we aim to be more Yin than Yang ( the ego/ inner child) as I thought we need to have a balance ie somewhere in the middle?
@daveyas6903 as a general guide, the Shen should lead, but the appropriate 'sweetspot' balance between the two in any moment depends on the situation/ context. Wu wei is not a static state, it is fluid, responsive and adaptable. This video will help: ruclips.net/video/7hY-nn5vDn0/видео.html
Thank you Alex and David for clarifying and the video which was also helpful to my learning. And Thank you for creating such informative videos and wishing you great light feelings ❤
Thanks David and Alex. interesting that you mentioned comparing parents. I did that, my parents were so much older and I believed I envied my friends having younger parents. I believed they were not as strict as my parents.🙏❤️
I have a situation where my sister and brother are in charge of our mother's health care and quality of life. When visiting my mom, I noticed she'd not received the recent bivalent Covid vaccinations, nor even the recommended third vaccination. When I brought this up to my sister, she said that our mom didn't need the boosters since she received the basic initial series of vaccinations. She mentioned that our mom's doctor didn't mention the need for further vaccinations. I'm not in the geographic area to be able to practically assist with my mom's health care so I feel I'm limited in what I can do to advocate for our mom, and uncertain about how much to push, and how far to go, in ensuring our mom gets the right care. Same thing happened when I mentioned that there are medications that have been found effective in the treatment of dementia/Alzheimer's Disease. Do I just sit back and let things go, or fight? How much do I fight; be defensive for our mom's sake?

Thanks for taking time to respond! I've joined the Facebook community so I may pose this question/concern there. Thanks again and blessings on you both!
Yes, being defensive is all too common among us. It's the survival mode. And so anti spiritual growth. Every week i wait for a new video from you too :)

Hi David, Thank you for your teachings, I find them very helpful and apply them in my life. I do have a question regarding this video. When someone is escalating their emotions by becoming defensive and falsely accusing me of something..I'm not sure I would want to ask them why they believe what they are saying. I recently had an experience like that and I did not want to invite more criticism, intensity, and escalating anger by asking them why they believed what they were saying. I didn't think it was my responsibility to ask them why they believed what they were saying. I thought my responsibility was to remain calm. I did not want to be around this kind of behavior. It did not matter how calm I was that just made them angrier. I did not believe I was responsible to help them figure out why they were angry. I was not judging them but I was discerning their behavior and choosing not to be around that kind of behavior. Isn't making a discernment for myself different than judging someone else?

The wavy middle line is 'wu wei' - the harmonious balance between yin (shen) and yang (human centred mind : the inner child or ego). x
@@WuWeiWisdom I understand. Cheers! 🙏
