    •  3 месяца назад +1

It’s pretty easy to understand inflation my dude. He probably understands it better than you. Inflation is when too many dollars are chasing too few goods. Tax cuts and spending increase inflation, spending cuts and tax increases decrease it. Low interest rates increase lending and borrowing which increases inflation and vice versa. Buying bonds on the open market can also increase inflation. Inflation is a byproduct of an economy being overheated which is entirely different from an economy suffering from recession. It’s not terribly complicated to figure out.
All Inflation is is a gradual increase in the cost of goods or services. Inflation in and of itself isn’t necessarily bad. Any good economy should have some level of price inflation. It only becomes bad when wages aren’t able to keep up with it

It wasn't even 1 Trillion...it was 800 Billion, right? But regardless, I always love it when Libs use the "economy saving" spending during the last year of a Presidential Administration as a way to criticize the entirety of that Administration, and then doubling or tripling down on that over spending while they are in power.
For example, this discussion brought up the 2008 Crash...and George Bush spent a lot of money those last few months while in office to try to save the economy, if memory serves. I might be wrong on that, but forgive me it's been 16 years ago...but then Obama comes in and spends even more, launches the campaign to create ObamaCare which was the absolute WORST thing he could have done to save crashing economy. Passes the legislation, with provisions in it that made it even harder to get a job, like putting a 50 employee cap on businesses having to comply with ObamaCare, making the fine for not getting ObamaCare less than the actual insurance policy costs, thus making the entire program insoluble, because it required people to buy into the program to make it work. The 50 employee limit was the worst thing though as companies that were either below or slightly above that number would either do a hiring freeze or lay off enough people to get under 50. I was laid off in 2008 and when ObamaCare passed I basically gave up looking for work.

There's another thing that has changed - I grew up in the "baby boomer" generation and one of the biggest things that has changed is the expectations of the young people reaching adulthood. My parents in post war America bought their first home in a "cookie cutter" neighborhood. About 700 Sq. Ft. 2 bedroom, 1 bath, with an unfinished basement. Now young adults want a 2100 Sq. Ft. home, two nice (if not new) cars in the garage for a starter home. Kids don't realize that you have to start small and build up as your income and resources grow. The philosophy of the time was "pay yourself first" by saving 10% of your income, untouchable until disaster might strike. Nobody looked for, and certainly wouldn't expect, a "handout" or "loan forgiveness" because they accrued more debt then they could afford.
