As someone who used to live “off Melrose” (about 20 yrs ago) I love the concept ... just not the color story. I love your version better! Melrose is funky & off beat - def not neutral. This is more suited for Santa Monica. 😂 Why they don’t hire you to assist with color stories is beyond me! Love the eye look tho.
Everyone feels like this is just the most basic palette, and I DO get it.... and yet I love it? haha. It's been the first CP palette to catch my eye in AGES, and I think it's because it actually has a variety of shades in the cool-neutral scheme I crave. I've been waiting for this review so THANK you, Amanda!
I agree with you! I actually think it's kind of a brilliant one palette to rule them all--it has gold, duochrome, taupes, mauves, mattes and glitters, nice balance of shadow and brightness -- I guess the "complaint" is more that if you have several palettes because you've tried to cobble together a cool-neutral color scheme when it wasn't so popular, basically the position I'm in, you probably can build this palette from within your collection (minus that beautiful duochrome :( ). But I still think it's worth the launch, I'd be all over it otherwise!

The swatch comparisons bring to light that they haven’t been as innovative as they could be. I’m glad you take the time out to do it and it’s why I subscribed.
Wow. Your eyes and makeup REALLY looked STUNNING in the intro. Like WOW! BEAUTIFUL! I wish CP would work on restocking "older" products before releasing new ones tho! 🥰👍😁 Cool/Neutral tones are definitely your compliment. You always look beautiful but today it was a stand out! That duo chrome is so pretty! We need more of those types of shades from CP!
It would have been more interesting palette if they had two duochromes instead of one and a pressed glitter which no-one asked for. Like don't they hear all the complaints all the people have about those blasted glitter shades? Or they should've really pulled some inspiration from the packaging and put some matte blue or green shades in it, it would've enlivened the palette up so much it would've felt like you're at a beach, under the warm sun trying to dodge the attacking seagulls. People in the CP HQ really seem to be in a colour slump, everything is way too beige and brown - are they in need of a extremely strong coffee or something, because the palettes start to look various shades of coffee, lattes and americanos, few espresso's sprinkled in to make it "exiting".
Out of all the palettes you compared this too I only own Making Mauves so I think I can justify buying it because I love the color story and the packaging 😍😍

Except for the glitter, I think this is the cutest nude collection they've done lately. Given they've been years on a nude and monochrome kick, that's saying something. The coolest things they have color story wise are all collabs

I only have a few CP palettes and I always get hyped for a duo chrome, but it seems to me that CP's duo chromes are all very identical? Maybe it's just the palettes I have but I feel like I get excited and then disappointed every time. This one looks very similar to the one in my Baroque palette, which is near identical to the one in Grandeur, which is just slightly different from the one in It's My Pleasure😂. Is it just me? My lighting? lmao
Just watched a recent video for this palette & was told Fairfax was same as Glass Bull. I’ve been trying to buy Glass Bull for years so I was glad to find out I actually had it in the Off Melrose palette :]
I really appreciate your videos and I love love love this format of them! It's enjoyable and informative and I'll always watch them when something new comes out. They also are great to rewatch for something peaceful in spare time. You are my go to RUclipsr. Just thought you should know :))
I bought just the pallette and I really like it. It's a neutral palette yes for sure but very pretty very wearable. I am glad I bought it. I will get use out of it. I wish I had gotten the blush also.
I think your ideas of additions to the pallet sounded great, blue and green. I think I'm going to take a break from Colourpop pallets for awhile because I have so many pallets and aside from the mono color pallets, you can pretty much get the same looks from just a few of them. I hope they will come out with interesting duo or multi chrome colors and do a small 4 or 6 pan pallet of them.

The look you created with this palette is so pretty! I do agree with you, I am growing tired of the incessant neutral releases from Colourpop. Their pricing is amazing which makes me want to grab so many of their palettes but I don't need this many neutral staple palettes. I am really hoping that change things up this year with more unique color stories.

It's not a monochrome or a monochrome with a pop. That's mainly what theyve been doing lately
