This album, "Dark Side Of The Moon," was on the Billboard Top 100 charts for 990 weeks! In my opinion, Pink Floyd's "Dark Side Of The Moon" is possibly the greatest piece of recorded music in human history. You MUST listen to this album in its entirety from beginning to end. Whether you do it on your own time or for a video, it's a MUST listen. Keep crushing, Stax!
There's only 2 albums that have outsold this one MJ's Thriller and AC/DC Back in Black but the fact that Pink Floyd knocked off Elvis and the Beatles for most sold and held that title for around 30yrs. is quite the major accomplishment.

You had to. Back in your day, you had to walk uphill to school. Both ways. In the snow. With no shoes. 😏 Though it's odd...I have heard the same sentiment from GenX, Millennials and Alpha. Maybe everyone has had the "BEST music", for them, as they made their way through adolescence and young adulthood. Or, maybe only the things Boomers like are objectively "the BEST" and everyone else is just wrong. I'm sure 4 out of 5 Boomers would agree with that observation.
I'm happy, as Gen X, to say we share this song with the boomers. They played it and we listened. Then we put it on when they weren't around, copied it to cassettes, and vibed on it all over the place. It's a perennial song, by its very nature, intent and message. It's speaking of a whole life, looking forward and backwards. It's a warning for some, a lament for others. At 14 when I first heard this, I couldn't really appreciate "then one day you find ten years have got behind you", but I could tell the impact of the sentiment on older people and it gave me pause about wasting time, which is so natural for people to do. But it's not just about that. It's also a very deep message about how striving is ultimately futile in the big picture too. We run and we run to catch up with sun, but it's sinking. Time gets us all in the end. Which is part of what makes it a great song. It can be inspirational, or it can be a bum out. That's up to you. But whatever it is, you feel it when they sing it. Maybe those feelings lead to useful change or wallowing in self pity, or even smug satisfaction. You choose your ending, but your song will end and there is always more to say that you missed. Does it matter? Up to you.

Wonderful reaction young man ! I remember the first time I heard Pink Floyd. Was about the mid 70,s. Another brick in the wall.....great song off of that album, great album, any way. perked up pretty quick..Cause I still remember that experience, vividly. In a parking lot in beverly hills, waiting for my husband to get out of the Drs. office. With my 10 year old son, listening to fm radio, and it hits me,total ear candy, and way deeper than that. Went out and got me some Pink Floyd😃
After my father passed and it was time to go pick up his ashes I got the sudden impulse to put on Pink Floyd's "Dark Side of the Moon" album for his drive home. It was one of his favorites and he played it all the time I was growing up. You should consider doing a full album reaction. Much of Pink Floyd's work is best appreciated by listening to the album as a whole.

What a beautiful and genuine reaction Stax. Thank you for sharing it with us. Its so good to see that the music I listened to in my teens is STILL appreciated by young people like yourself. This really is a wonderful validation of how good it is. Thank you once again.
Thank you for the support💙🙏
Reminds of chilling in the dorm room and taking some "vitamins. Mind blown...

Truth !!!
It's been around 50 years since I first listened to this album and I still remember it vividly. I can't say that about any other piece of music.

The Grateful Dead - Box of Rain
Welcome to the best band in the world! This album is a Masterpiece!!! On the Billboard top100 longer than any album in history. 990 weeks. They are my favorite band, along with Tool and Black Sabbath. Thank you. Please do more.

Hey Staxx. As one who first heard this decades ago, I can tell you there is so much truth in this song.

Try "Keep Talking" from the live "Pulse" concert - outstanding.
