      Excuse me, it is the best Pink Floyd album IN MY OPINION!
      Three very important words a cause it truly is only my opinion, not a matter of fact!!
      As a matter of fact it is only a 1? Because there are only 26 letters in the English language. Off the top of my stroke ravaged head/brain I can think of more than a few 1’s by other artists, ie Relayer by YES, Madman Across the Water/Elton John, Are You Experienced/Hendrix, Bridge Over Troubled Water/SnG, Sgt Peppers/Beatles, Pet Sounds/Beach boys, Deja Vu/CSNY.
      Going forward please please please use the three words, In My Opinion!!

    In my opinion, Pink Floyd's "Dark Side Of The Moon" is possibly the greatest piece of recorded music in human history. You MUST listen to this album in its entirety from beginning to end. Whether you do it on your own time or for a video, it's a MUST listen.

      You had to. Back in your day, you had to walk uphill to school. Both ways. In the snow. With no shoes. 😏
      Though it's odd...I have heard the same sentiment from GenX, Millennials and Alpha.
      Maybe everyone has had the "BEST music", for them, as they made their way through adolescence and young adulthood.
      Or, maybe only the things Boomers like are objectively "the BEST" and everyone else is just wrong. I'm sure 4 out of 5 Boomers would agree with that observation.

    • @shelbys6572
      @shelbys6572 3 месяца назад

      Fact

    • @phuzzo1
      @phuzzo1 2 месяца назад

      I'm happy, as Gen X, to say we share this song with the boomers. They played it and we listened. Then we put it on when they weren't around, copied it to cassettes, and vibed on it all over the place. It's a perennial song, by its very nature, intent and message. It's speaking of a whole life, looking forward and backwards. It's a warning for some, a lament for others. At 14 when I first heard this, I couldn't really appreciate "then one day you find ten years have got behind you", but I could tell the impact of the sentiment on older people and it gave me pause about wasting time, which is so natural for people to do. But it's not just about that. It's also a very deep message about how striving is ultimately futile in the big picture too. We run and we run to catch up with sun, but it's sinking. Time gets us all in the end.
      Which is part of what makes it a great song. It can be inspirational, or it can be a bum out. That's up to you. But whatever it is, you feel it when they sing it. Maybe those feelings lead to useful change or wallowing in self pity, or even smug satisfaction. You choose your ending, but your song will end and there is always more to say that you missed. Does it matter? Up to you.

    At 45 I had a conversation with my father, he asked me, he says, "Now that you're a little older, doesn't it seem like the years go by faster with each passing year?" My reply was that I miss my 20's, my 30's are nowhere in the records, and somehow I'm over halfway through my 40's... of course the years go by faster!! lol and we both brought up this song at the same time. This is a joy to vibe to... most of Pink Floyd is. Great reaction!! Tx!!

    "Then one day you'll find, ten years have got behind you"... that lyric has never left me. Amazing track on one of the greatest concept albums... Pink Floyd close to their peak. Thanks for reminding me to unpack the record player and have another listen to the LP. The quiet meditation and ceremony behind having to flip the album from A to B is something missing from modern playlists. :)

    Time by Pink Floyd is probably my favorite song of all time, and probably the first song i recall ever hearing. I was born a 2 years before the album was released, and it was my dads (rip) favorite. Me and my sister, when were 2 and 3, would be sitting around when my dad and uncles would sit around getting high, and play the entire album. Good times.

    And as an older man I can tell you there's so much truth in the Lyrics ... you have time to rest when your old , if you dont wasted time in your life before . Believe in yourself and work for what you like to reach , Love will be on your side till the end .

    Wonderful reaction young man ! I remember the first time I heard Pink Floyd. Was about the mid 70,s. Another brick in the wall.....great song off of that album, great album,any way. perked up pretty quick..Cause I still remember that experience,vividly. In a parking lot in beverly hills,waiting for my husband to get out of the Drs. office. With my 10 year old son, listening to fm radio,and it hits me,total ear candy,and way deeper than that. Went out and got me some Pink Floyd😃

    After my father passed and it was time to go pick up his ashes I got the sudden impulse to put on Pink Floyd's "Dark Side of the Moon" album for his drive home. It was one of his favorites and he played it all the time I was growing up. You should consider doing a full album reaction. Much of Pink Floyd's work is best appreciated by listening to the album as a whole.
