When we represent 14% of the entire population and 63% of our children come from homes without fathers, that's not okay. We have to be honest about that and leave the whataboutisms at the door.

JR has typical New Orleans man trauma. I understood why he carries himself the way he does as soon as I found out he was from the city. It doesn’t matter the color when you are growing up in that struggle but he’s intelligent and that’s how he got out but it’s still in him. At least he recognizes and acknowledges his privilege. I can’t judge his situation with Tamar because she also has some toxicity and Trauma. He seems like a solid dude outside of his relationships… A lot of them are. Love them as a friend but not a mate.

💯 he also reminds me of many brothers here in New York City too. That trauma comes from the intersectional negative impacts of the environment, i.e. the streets, and socioeconomics. Especially my handsome suited-up BM from the Bronx. Yes, they make cool ass friends, but don't sleep with them or fall in love. Phew. Starts with love bombing and can end all sorts of ways. Peace.

It’s very different here and growing up we were just friends with everybody. It’s honestly not something that you thought about if somebody was black or white, or at least that’s how I was raised and the majority of the people I know. I’m paraphrasing but CK asked him to respond to being called a culture vulture and he says he had two gold teeth at 14, been to jail, etc. So that’s the culture to him? Seems to me, he’s primarily aligning negative attributes to Blackness.
Say it slowly for the black Women who did not comprehend.
I hope he’s only coming to talk about being a lawyer but gets caught driving drunk, and not say one negative word about my girl Tamar

I am very interested in what he has to say, two people were about to speak freely and he should have his day. When we listen we hear something new. When we judge while listening we don’t grow.
I wonder how many young black men in the same situation were given the same leniency and opportunity as him from the same community.

I watched one of those dateline 2020 shows where a young man went into somebody’s house and killed them, got out of the penitentiary and went on to become a doctor. He was white.
Creating children being reckless....then they'll blame the woman for being a single mother....smh.
We have to take part in the responsibility. Kids are not made alone.
