- There might not be a storyline in World of Warcraft Classic more iconic than that of Mankrik's Wife... a small quest from the Crossroads in the Barrens that every Horde player probably encountered while leveling up. There was only one problem though... the quest did nothing to tell you how to actually complete it, leading Mankrik and his wife Olgra to grow in infamy every time a new player asked, "Where is Mankrik's Wife?" Blizzard Entertainment took this in stride, however, incorporating Mankrik and Olgra into other parts of Warcraft's lore and storyline, and even in other games like Hearthstone! So, what is the story of the Tragedy of Mankrik's Wife?

I'd love the life story of Prophet Velen for example! I dont know much more than Argus questline and that dood is OLD so he must have quite the life story I'd imagine!

There's a quest chain in Duskwood where you run around and get stuff for an old hermit. That's a good one. There are a few like that in Duskwood. Stalvan Mistmantle was one, but you may have done that one already.
And now in the 10.0.5 ptr, Mankrik is back! And he is at the trading post buying a bracelet for Mahka! What a story arc!

Man, I've enjoyed a couple of your videos now and I just gotta say, this is some top notch stuff. The voice work alone is straight up amazing, and the way you've recorded the game itself really captures the feeling I have as a player immersed in the story so much better than more straightforwards Let's play-style photage. I've honestly thought a couple of times that I could probably show one of your videos to someone who doesn't even play the game and it would work as just a story all on its own. So yea, hat's off and hope to see more of your stuff!
Despite Mankrik’s meme status, he has at least moved on and from what I saw when I did the quest in the southern barrens. The shaman it seems she has feelings for him and hopefully Mankrik is willing to love again. Hopefully they expand upon that, how popular he is.
I thought his name was mankirk until today. I played vanilla/tbc/wotlk.....I've read all quest texts in those because you to.

This is such a great format for lore videos. Telling the lore of a quest line in world of Warcraft through the point of view of simply a player completing the quest line. I hope we get more of these down the line

This was an amazing video.
I was watching 2 other videos of yours and thinking at the time all the lore i just know from 12 years ago (pre cata). One was Mor'Ladim and one was Stalvin Mistmantle. While watching the Mor'ladim vid I was wondering what Horde Lore i remember since I pretty much knew almost everything alliance and didn't play much horde. The first think I thought of was a quest where the body is just laying off the side of the road in the Barrens. Fast forward an hour and here it is

If you interessted in doing more stories, one of my favorit is the story of a little griffin in the hinterlands. I think it's ful story is in classic, dont know if its still there after the cataclysm

Thank you so much, this is a huge compliment!! Yes, all of the voice acting was my own. Blizzard has added some voice lines for bigger characters in main quests, but those are main story lines in much more recent expansions.

Masterpiece.
The game follows the cinematic, where alliance and horde have run aground the new continent (think Australia on Earth. In a mad rush to "Conquer" the land they run into its inhabitants, the long lost Pandarians, who each faction, then try to sweet talk into being allies. Mists Of Pandaria (MOP) in my opinion has the most beautiful art style, and music in the game.
The Panadarians are suppose to rep Chinese in the game, I think they do a good job of it and try to be inclusive etc but like alot of fantasy genre-starting with JR Tolkin, non white cultures are represented by nonhuman, almost monster like races. ie Trolls-Jamaican.

Althoguh cata questing made the base game more fun, I think we should have been able to set a switch to play the vanilla world. Since the timeline is confusing otherwise.
Agreed. I think something similar to the phasing they do now with the different zones set at different times, at least for the story/quests.
If there any expansion I have a disdain for would be *Cataclysm* besides Goblins and Worgens being the only good thing , Vanilla was beautiful , Cata Ruined the based world , there probably so many Azeroth quest I haven't even done yet , classic is in Cata in 2024 dumb move by Blizzard, "WoW ,TBC ,WotLK" is a Trilogy adding cata was just a horrible idea ..

I have a special relationship with this quest. Like a lot of people, I started playing on a free server where the quests were far from perfect and in order to complete this one, I had to kill his wife and THEN collect her body because it was bugged :D More than 17 years and I still have to laugh :D
HA! That sounds hilarious! I never had the experience of playing on a Private Server for an extended period (I think I got to Westfall in one before Classic was announced way back when), but that sounds like a great story that you're gonna have and remember forever haha

Sorry the video wasn't as entertaining for you as I would have hoped. Most of my content is similar to this in terms of pacing and content, so you may wish to find something else more your speed. :)

Ah, in that case, I do recommend finding another channel to watch. I see no issue with content having a feminine bent.
