- with 2.2 on the horizon, i figured id finally finish the only thing i could really do in the remaining time frame, which was to make a memory layout. ive been trying countless times to make one, but i never followed through because i didnt have any ideas. today, however, i can finally say it is done and that i am ready for 2.2 to drop.
for this level, i tried to take a simpler approach with the gimmicks, relying on structuring alone for most of the parts to help me make every part unique. i think that in a way makes it more memorable because it kind of takes classic memory levels and puts a little 2.1 spin on it, or at least i feel it does for some of the parts. regardless, i had a lot of fun making this until the end when i started to run dry on ideas (you might see the effects of this in a couple of the parts).
its also worth mentioning that the key maze """breaks""" on the bot because of how practice mode and count triggers work. i believe it is set up similar to how limbos randomization works, but with 7 sets of numbers that count from 0-3 (16384 possibilities), so because of that, the randomization resets to 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 on the counters at every checkpoint. only """breaks""" on practice mode so if this was released (lol) there would be no real problem.
i'm really proud of this and i can confidently say that it is one of, if not my best layout and i'm really glad that this is my last project of the update. this isnt the end though, because i have big plans for 2.2 barring i have enough motivation, which with how hyped i am, probably wont be an issue
