I love the idea but would like a simpler version of the doily glued onto a painted canvas. I'd like the doily to stand out instead of the paint and mini beads. Thanks for the idea. I hope Modge Podge will work.

Hi! Good question, Mod Podge should work for soaking the doily (this would be instead of the gloss gel) as for adhering it to the canvas I am not sure. I used the heavy gel to make sure the doily was secure to the canvas but you might not need to. I would try it out on a sample canvas and see if that is enough. Great question, I will have to play around as well and see if that works.
I have been collecting doilies to do this on a big canvas. The picture I’m using as a guide is about 4’ x 6’ and painted gray.
