  • This is the beginning part and the ending part of track two on the Field of Dreams (The Decision to Build the Field). The end of this track one of my favorite parts of the score, so I tried my best to replicate it! Enjoy!

So amazing. Gave me goosebumps! Very good work.
Many people don't know that this film's original score was nominated for an Oscar. I love how Horner established all the main themes early in the film with piano and keyboards, then amplified them with a full orchestral rendition at the movie's climax. It really makes the final act all the more moving. I absolutely love this film and its original score. Horner is a genius.

I remember one of my last trips into the old Comiskey Park. We we're just hanging around after most of the fans had filtered out of the ballpark. Nancy Faust played a similar arrangement. It caught the small group's attention and you could have heard a pin drop. Now every time I hear this when re-watching the movie, I think of that moment and all the good times I had at the old park.

The melody that is played at 1:08 and again at the very end is without a doubt the most beautiful piece of music I have ever heard.

the first cue, is exact inversion starting a 5th away. The way he mixes dissonant intervals with consonant intervals is so colourful. This is absolutely beautiful music. James Horner is a genius.

it is exact inversion starting a perfect 5th away. it is sooo brilliant, the use of dissonant intervals resolving to consonant ones. James Horner is a genius, this cue has changed my life.

i saw the movie more than 20 years ago, in london. since then, i seldom spend a week without this music in my mind. why? i don't know. just like some words put together can open minds and spirits. some musics can open space that lays inside everyone and take us to another dimension, where our dreams and hopes and memories at last reborn before our eyes, so close that you can almost touch them. that looks like Eden... no?
    thanks mister horner, thanks jeremy

FoD music score would of worked great for the Ghost Player movie coming out in July but legal issues and getting the rights is tough and expensive. Ghost Player is a documentary about the extras from the movie Field of Dreams. There is a lot more at the ghost player web site.

    Dear Jeremy,
I was wondering if you had written music for this either from music you own or music learned by ear. I was wondering if you could help me learn how to play this or have the chord changes. I have been trying to find this music through libraries and have not much success. One of my favorite movie themes and movies in general.
    Thank you,
    Mike Kasper
