The diamond extender solutions are nothing more than Dimethyl silicone oil often used to shine and condition latex and other rubber products for example; latex clothing, sex toys, neoprene wet suits and dry suits for deep sea diving, surfing, wellington boots, waders for anglers and rubber washers for water taps and it's cheaper too, get the one that is water insoluble. Don't use water as a coolant put Dimethyl silicone oil in a spray bottle and use that as the coolant! Water is only used with 60-1200 grit whether aluminum oxide, diamond or silicon carbide. The Dimethyl silicone oil is used as both lubricant and a coolant for pre-polish grades of 3000-14,000 and polish grades of 17,500-200,000, regardless whether using diamond or an metal oxide polish!
I don't know if you know this, but the exact process is used on a faceting. machine. To create diamonds. But instead of canvas, they use metal disks to carry the paste.
What grit do you normally polish your cabs to? Say Picasso Jasper or Malachite or Moonstone. I would like to get that “wet” look. I was browsing in a crystal shop recently and her cabs were so brilliant they almost appeared to have a clear coating. She swore they were “all natural “ and were premium stones. Her prices certainly reflected that.
will both the Diamond Extending fluid and the Diamond past work on Wool buffing wheel. I see you are using a canvas type, just curious if it will work on a wool one.
Awesome video..My first mistake was not watching this video before i charged my pad with 17,000 grit diamond paste. So can i use any silicon spray or does it have to be diamond extender.? look forward to your reply.
Gregorio Rafael Fernandez Muñoz Go to riogrande.com and search “Diamond Abrasive Compound” she is using 14,000 grit which give a nice polish. Rio Grande is out of New Mexico and has great prices.
Thanks much for the video. I'm a total newbie, having just received my Cab-King last week. I'll be a follower forever.

Great info
Try making a mineral oil/diamond paste slurry it lets you get thin coats that sit much deeper in the canvas without buildup
Hi Wong Elfski how can I make this mineral oil with diamond paste
Thank you for sharing, if you can, can you tell me it was Cowhide or canvas?

Do you free hand when you cab or use dopping wax/glue on a post? I like to free hand but find the pad extremely difficult to hold the stone.
How do you not cross contaminate your lap when you use the same crystal lub on the next finer grit. Do you have separate bottles for each grit?
Do you have to use the crystal lube or can u just use the paste
Gidday, ty. Can u tell me the rate of water u have flowing on the wheel. Cheers
Do you spray your pad with water before polishing or do you polish dry?
I'm wondering the same thing. Did you ever find an answer to this?
Great stuff , how do we get ahold of you ? I want some slabs :)
If you would like to purchase slabs contact me at psalms89.34@gmail.com Thanks so much :)
