This is a trip watching this and seeing the Genesis compared to now
This vid convinced me to go ahead and get the o2 housing, sounds freaking mean. I know its going to be a pain in the ass to swap out every year with emissions though. I'm a little worried its going to be too loud. I'm hoping that skinny little resonator on the isr race will be enough to keep the exhaust from being too raspy/farty. I've heard guys who just run the car with no exhaust after the turbo and it sounds horrible.
hey man great video, i wondered i just bought my own o2 housing for my genesis before installing it you dont need a tune or anything , its a simplr bolt on right ?
Hey man. It's better to get a tune after installing an o2 because it will throw a check engine light. The CEL will make the car run lean. So get it installed and order a tune and you'll be good
what size are your tires? nice fitment!
That tire fittment is fugly ... way too stretched out
Would you say its too loud because I have the isr race exahaust and want to go full hatless
Nice! Would you be willing to upload a video on how you jack up your car and where you placed the Jack stands? Thad something I would watch
Sure thing man!
@@TylerCordura whats up bro. Did you get engine light on by installing the isr o2 housing??
Hey do you need to be tuned to take the old cat and put in the isr o2 sensor ? Or do you just take it off and slap in the the new one
the air filter pod, what size is it? because I want to put the filter pod on the factory hosing, basically want the same set up you have.
Hey brother love what you have accomplished with the car. Ive been wanting to get one, how has it treated you reliably wise??
it has been good
Its called a turbo DOWN PIPE because its down off the turbo. The 2nd pipe is the "mid pipe" because its the middle of the system.
O2 housing comes before the downpipe on the genesis.
@@bradylxix the O2 housing IS the downpipe ... the 1st pipe off the turbo is called the "down pipe" ... it just happens to have the O2 sensor on it. And its not an O2 housing because there is no such thing as an O2 housing, its a "down" pipe that contains the O2 sensor. Your terminology is wrong.
@@ACommenterOnRUclips the o2 housing is sold separately from the downpipe. Hyundai part diagrams label the part as a preconverter not as the downpipe. Not sure what to tell you other than that.
@@bradylxix let me REPEAT myself so maybe this time you can understand. The DOWNPIPE is the 1st pipe that connects to the turbo back housing. Do you understand what i just wrote ??
The DOWNPIPE also has the O2 sensor attached to it .... Did you understand that as well ??
The 2nd pipe AFTER the downpipe is the MID PIPE which contains the 2nd catalytic converter and sometimes on older vehicles contains the 2nd O2 sensor.
After the MID PIPE is the entire cat back system.
I dont know why its marked as pre converter because the converter is on that pipe. Pre converter means its BEFORE the converter which in this case that downpipe is not pre converter.
Anyways, call it what you want, its wrong terminology and you millennials think you know it all, and BTW come back at me with another term other than boomer because that would be stealing and its stupid and old and i am not a boomer FYI ...
@@ACommenterOnRUclips I wouldn’t consider that tiny piping to be a downpipe, i believe it’s 02housing into a downpipe connected to the mid pipe back
What’s up man, I’m looking at doing the same to my 2.0 I know it’ll get the CEL and that I’ll need a time to get rid of it. However is it possible to run it like that without a time for a while? Or will it hurt the car
I mean tune for both times I said time lmao
Yeah man, is should be fine. It should be fine, it just won’t use any of the advantages of actually being catless!
With this make my car louder ? I already have a cat ask muffler exhaust on it now ? I just don't know what to do to add power and sounds ?
Tyler Linebarger add a rock nut and a big exhaust, with and mp3 that makes blow off valve sounds. nah I'm kidding idk
Buen video desde puerto rico
Love your car dude. I have a 2011 but it is an auto :((( bout to to an o2 housing and downpipe with the stock exhaust for s litlecwhile
Did u have to tune the car?
What lip is that ??
Hey tayler , by any chance do you still have that lip of yes can you sell it to me ?
U get a Check engine light?
You didn't have any stripping or breaking of the turbo studs like most people seem to have the issue with? Installing mine tomorrow on my bk2 genny and I'm afraid of the studs snapping off
No, I didn't have any of those problems... Good luck!
did you have to get the car tune when you install the up pipe?
+freshdominican92 no you don't, but you will have a check engine light until you do
freshdominican92 you should! Do this and install a wideband gauge. I bet you you af ratio will not be in the safe 11's at wide open throttle like it should. 2.0T's run super rich from the factory as is but installing this without a tune can really mess your air fuel ratio up. Your engine will prob not blow up instantly but im sure it wont be running perfect in the long run
dasspr I read that the tune only removes the light and doesn’t bypass the actual setting do you know if this is correct or not
@@dasspr that is incorrect ...
The car tunes from the primary O2 sensor, the 2nd O2 sensor is just there to make sure the primary cat is there. He did not touch or mess with the primary O2 ... its before the cat and after the turbo. Even by deleting the primary cat, the main O2 is still in the same spot and will work just as before.
The issue is that the cat is gone so the 2nd O2 will not detect more exhaust flow so it will know the cat is missing and set off the cel ...
what did you do with the stock one? i cant find one anywhere and i need it to pass smog
hey man, I noticed the Cali plates and I'm moving to Cali soon with my bk2. wondering if this o2 housing will cause any problems with smog check and all that out there?
oh and a follow up, is that isis street exhaust you have? if it is, will that be a problem too in cali? is it too loud for the cops out there?
+Rafael yeah it will be a problem unfortunately
+Rafael and prepare to be hassled. I don't have the isis exhaust, but it is too loud
Yes smog big time if a cop looks under the car and sees no cat ticket big time because of CARB.You may have too show them that the cat is put back on many after market hi flow cats even though they are made in Cali they are illegal too run because of CARB.
Did you need a tune or no
what size were the nuts for the o2?
hey man i unistalled mine because of the check engine and i didnt have a tune, i didnt really have the time to drive it, so do you see a nice power gain or its not worth ?
the turbo flow and spool is much quicker. Its not about more power its about being in the power band long because the turbo kicks in sooner.
If you would have got the depo racing or the cnt with the secondary o2 bung extended the cel would have went away.
What exhaust is that?
is that the isr race exhaust or street exhaust?
im still wondering wich exhaust he run on .... think its race exhaust
How do you get the backfires and flames on TJ Hunt's video @ autocon?
Sanchey he has an N2MB wot box which makes you shoot flames like crazy but is bad for your car because of too much boost or some shit like that
What size socket did you use for the o2 housing bolts? 19mm?
I don't remember, I believe they were 15mm or 17mm bolts. I will go check them for you tomorrow!
I’m in for the sizes if you know! @tyler
Just ordered my isr 02, what size socket did you use?
What all had you done to your exhaust system before that O2 housing was installed? I'm loving that growl!
So I have a custom 3" down pipe. From the cat to the muffler flange. I then have a straight pipe, not a 3" straight pipe the stock 2 1/4" piping. I did this because I felt it would create more back pressure, as well as have a better sound. When these get more opened up at the back end I fell the get a little farty.
hey man i just installed my o2 housing and i have a check engine light is that normal?
Yes, by removing the cat you will get a check engine light. This can be removed by getting a tune! Perfectly normal, it is just an emission failure light. It DOES NOT affect performance.
Tyler Cordura would i fail emissions test even if the check engine light is off?
Thanks for the info. Im about to help my buddy install a straight pipe system. But whats the song.??
Love the ride man, Looking forward to more content! You should check out my ride just started a channel as well. Keep it up bro!
Thanks, I appreciate the feed back.
