Im also a young crocheter and OMG TYSM FOR MAKING THIS! Every other tutorial was pretty much js like “oh yeah do this then repeat it a bunch of times you’ll figure it out” so THANK YOU FOR MAKING THISSS‼️‼️
When I started this project I was so confused and I had watched about 4 different videos for it, but then your video came up and you made so easy to follow!!! I love this bag so much!
Tip for people: when you begin to make it, it’s gonna look a bit like a pentagon/ a flower, but trust the process! For me it turned into a star but the border lines are curved (and I like it!) so don’t give up 🤗 and thank you so much for this tutorial!
i was really scared to start trying to make this star bag because i am a dummy beginner and this is gonna be the 4th thing ive ever crocheted, but these comments are making me so reassured oml. im so excited to start this bag now >:D
im sure you did great!! this helps me feel better as this is my *first* crochet project and I'm already doing much better than expected (go big or go home yk)
this is the first actual thing i've crocheted, i'm currently on the 4th row of my 2nd star and this is a really easy tutorial. thanks for putting the pattern on the screen it really helped me! i have NO clue how people think this is hard
hi!! i just finished my bag and i really enjoy your content! i feel like the tutorial was much easier and better explained than others, and i think the bag looks so cute! thank you so much!
I would like to ask a question! I made this And on the color change everything was good, until the border starting curving? İs there any way to fix this im so happy i found a good tutorial but the border is curving and not staying straight and giving that star look@@bluegrassfairy
This was super easy! I always gave up trying to crochet things like this because I didn’t have the patience. But now I tried crocheting again and actually followed directions and had the patience to do this and it turned out super good!! I love this pattern so much💛💛

Thank you so much! I have been eyeing these bags since I started crocheting and I’m so happy I was able to make one for a dear friends birthday. Wonderful tutorial!
About to start this bag will update when I have finished, Super scared to start this because I’m the dumbest beginner you’ll ever meet but all these comments say it’s easy so I’ll try it! Starting at 7:45pm
Such an easy and cute tutorial thank u so much I'm so happy with the first bag that I've made and I'm fully beginner ! I started learning like 2 days ago ur instructions are so clear love u
I’m a young crochet and I just want to say thank you so much I’m making this for my auntie for Christmas you helped me so much I’m sure my Auntie will love thank you also your voice is beautiful you kept me entertained thank you my auntie will love it🙏😊
I’ve done this pattern before. However, it has never occurred to me that I got a granny square. But I’m just back because I forgot the pattern. Anyway, I’m sure this has nothing to do. But you probably did wrong stitches. Nevertheless. This video was very helpful
this is the only star crochet tutorial i've seen so far that explains it so simply and well. thank you so much!! would this pattern work for a blanket if i just kept adding +2 dc along each side of the points ?
I’m so glad you found this helpful! And yes absolutely it would work for a blanket. I would also recommend if you want a thick striped look, keep in mind you should do more rows of each color because the bigger the star the smaller the stripe looks, if that make sense. Just a tip :)
Dear 💙 BlueGrass Fairy with your beautiful artwork, I'm from the Bluegrass state .... 😂 And I'm a fellow crochet and fabric arts artist.... I absolutely admire your art 🎨 😊😊😊 and your videos!!! Thank you definitely taught me how to crochet a star ⭐
I'm still sitting here doing it, it's really cool, you explain it very well, but it's harder for me because I don't really understand English and I, like some commentators, watch the video and moments several times!😅😚
Oh yes I think that’s something I forgot to explain, you have to skip the stitch closest to your chain 2 cause that one doesn’t count. I do this at the beginning of each round. Sorry i forgot to explain that!
Great video thank you, was easy but got stuck around 36:29 I can't see what way you've placed both sides together and mine are opposite i dont know what to do. you've only sort of shown the top bit of it so i got no idea, and a lot of times in the vid moved what you're doing off camera.
@@elis5634 I kind of just tried attaching it end to end but i think i did it wrong because its not the whole strap attached. But it still works and Ive had no problems since finishing it, I also lined the bag with fabric
the tutorial was great! i kinda struggled a lil with where to go into because whenever she would try to show where to put the hook into the star the star would be outta frame :(
I don’t get how people think this is easy, she is so unclear. For example, she doesn’t even tell you where to put your stitch most of the time, like on 16:54. And when she explains what to do, she explains it in a very complicated way, I rather just see what to do. I’ve been crocheting for a year now and this is probably the hardest tutorial I’ve seen. If you’re a beginner, I wouldn’t watch this tutorial.
Do you think this pattern would still work if I begin with a magic circle and insert the 20 Dc into that? I want to try and avoid the hole in the center. Thanks for the great tutorial!
So far I’m understanding the video well, but when we start doubling the dc stitches, are we going between the posts or into the actual top of the stitch?
@@savanna3847 thank you! I figured out what was going wrong and managed to correct it before I got in too deep and the stars turned out great :) just assembling now!
It's quiet understandable but please show us your work more clearly i had to redo the whole thing because your fingers was on top on the stitches i was supposed to skip so i ended up with a 6 legs star :(
marking where i left off: 15:53 (gonna get something to eat) 26:16 (taking a break: note to self: you're currently making 14 stitches rather than either at 12 cause you want aa bigger bag)

Almost 2 balls of about 380 yards of yarn. But the bag I made in this video was the size of a purse so if you want the size of a tote bag I’d prepare for a little more.

A quick tip!
If you’re going to skip make sure that if you’ve skipped to long go back to double check that you haven’t missed anything!
thank you soooo muchhhh❤❤❤❤

Chain 4 to start then skip two double crochet into the third then chain two skip to double crochet to the third and repeat to end of the strap.

I can’t put my hook through the hole and do a single crochet it’s to confusing for me, if you or someone knows an easier way please tell me!
Make a magic circle
Babe you should start with something easier if you’re a beginner
You should turn your hook downwards 😊
Start with somthing easier!
Just use a smaller hook (I use 1.7 and it works perfectly, it just takes some time to be used to it)
Does anyone know how much yarn this needs? Im using the loops and threads yarn with a 6 mm hook(it needs 5.5 mm hook but the 6 mm doesn't change anything). I only have 2 half a skein of yarn
Not 2 and a half, 2 halves ( 1 pink and 1 white)
I think that I used almost 2 entire balls to make a purse sized bag but you’d need more if you want it any bigger (like a tote bag)
@@bluegrassfairy which yarn did you use? some yarns are different sizes and im just wondering if you have a smaller size. Thanks!
What yarn brand is it that you used??
How do we fasten off at the end before we start the strap?
Hi there! May I respectfully ask if I can sell the finished bag from this pattern? Thank you very much!
Yes of course! This is not my original pattern so do what you want with this! :)
what size yarn did you use?
can this pattern also be used to make the star blanket ?
I haven’t personally tried it but I think so. If you just keep adding 2 each round it will only get bigger and bigger so it should work!
What weight of yarn are you using?
I don’t remember I’m sorry!
It looks like a type 4 or type 3
@@Jorjyabebe thank you!!
12:06 just a time stamp for me
Can we just make a manic circle?
If you mean “magic” circle then you could buy I tried it once and it unraveled when I put weight in the bag so the chain method is better I think.
I watched so many videos and tried so many times to do this bag (3 times) And they all curved a lot!! I had to undo so many hours of work 😭😭😭
Really hoping this one works out

nothing works out on the first try, you should’ve not undid the whole thing 😢

how much yarn did you used?
Almost 2 balls of about 380 yards of yarn. But the bag I made in this video was the size of a purse so if you want the size of a tote bag I’d prepare for a little more.
@bluegrassfairy thank you so much!!
Haiii wanted to know how many balls of Yarn did u use:D
I used about 2/3 of 2 balls. Each one was about 350 yards at the start.
How much yarn did you use?
How much yarn do you need in total??
I used about half of a skein for both colors, and I think each one was about 300 yards.
What yarn do you use
What weight of yarn?
Thx now, I make bags/money bags and sell them
