I never realized that this piece sounds so much like birds chirping. I mean, its obvious that you use bird sounds to make a piece about naturee in the spring. But with Strings it never resembles this sound so well
that was my attitude until i decided that since ive got nothing better to do, i might as well pick up my old childhood recorder n see if i could remember any of the old xmas carols n primary school hymns.
Wow! She can play very well in the High Register like no other recorder player can? Is this a Sopranino Recorder? I didn’t expect a Solo Recorder arrangement of this beautiful piece of music!
I do believe that this is a solo piece composed by Jean-Jacques Rousseau for traverso. He was a political philosopher but also an amateur composer and flautist.
My recorder tutor of the late 1960s told me that much recorder music played on the Sopranino was transposed from that originally composed for descant. Comment? My tutor's collection of recorders, from bass to sopranino, was made of pear wood, which he believed produced a tone superior to that of maple. He never mentioned ivory as a material for a recorder.
For folks admiring her instrument know that it does have it's downside. It can't leave the Netherlands. It's an ivory sopranino made twenty years before Lucie was born. I least we get to hear it played by this young master. :-)
@@victoryinhim9689 When I play sopranino recorder I feel like I'm larping as a songbird, probably a winter wren. It is a lot of fun. I wish there were more music that called for sopranino recorder.
Oh there's a whole range of them from the contrabass all the way to Sopraninio, and the recorder has over 900 years of music composed specially for it.
i would say in this one it's combination of years of hard sweat, than room acoustics together with brilliant recording/mixing/effecting as well as she's likely using a flute sort of higher quality than 10 eur Yamaha from your local music store
I dis play recorder when I was 6 to 12 and stopped....When I listen you playing it feels magical, it's amazing !!!!! So much beauty (and talent !!)in this small instrument but huge in what we can do with it. I want to play again :) thanks
You're stepping in the footsteps of another great Dutch recorder flutist Frans Bruggen en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frans_Br%C3%BCggen . Very beautiful performances, Miss Horsch!
Such clean articulation in the high register! Tough to tongue those notes and have them speak right away. Her fingering is amazing too. Other woodwinds have keys because this is genuinely difficult.
Bravo! Very well done. I played the alto recorder for a few years before going back to the clarinet. While it is easy to get a sound from a recorder, it is very difficult to play fast passages as well as that, especially when the highest notes are involved.
See, that's why people who say the recorder is an easy instruments are misguided. It's a difficult instrument. Not to mention that it's an entire family of instruments and recorder players are usually expected to play several of them. Where I live, in order to join the local recorder ensemble, you have to own and play, in addition to soprano and alto, at least a tenor and/or a low recorder. I, too, play mostly clarinet at the time. The good thing is that, if you play German clarinet, you can use many fingerings for alto recorder in the lowest register and for soprano in the medium register.
Fantastic performance from Lucie on the recorder!! Such a simple instrument but you really show the depth and breadth it is capable of! Absolutely ethereal!
You don't need me telling you anything, but you play beautifully and I really enjoy hearing you play...please keep it up. You do the instrument real justice.
when I'm older, I want to be like you, you are the perfect model to follow for a recorder student like me. Please share with us the sheet music of this arrangement.... :-)
I learned recorder when I was in 5th grade I still play it today since that's like the only instrument I can play decently without sounding like a dying horse. I hope I get better at it though
I am doing a project in school and one of the questions is what is one interesting musical point in the peace does anyone have any feedback would be great many thanks
Beautifully clear tones, impeccable fingering. Especially impressed at 3:34 when coming down out of the second register you kept it under control. Bravo!
Hello, if you really want to learn the art of improvisation, glissando and portamento, while remaining in tune. You have to study masters like Hariprasad Chaurasia or the art of Shakuhachi, good work
I never realized that this piece sounds so much like birds chirping. I mean, its obvious that you use bird sounds to make a piece about naturee in the spring. But with Strings it never resembles this sound so well
I learnt it at school when I was 14, it didn't sound like that.
Yes.You're right. But at school de have to learn the flûte. It was not a pleasure.
Heh, we played ukulele :)
You got it broken. Probably came like that.
@@Seastar14TheWitch thats so fun 😭😭😭
you also didn't have the right type of recorder...
Lucie is a true virtuoso on the recorder. She has the best tone I've ever heard.
Virtuosa
She is fantastic, but i have never heard anyone come close to Frans Brüggen yet.
Send this to everyone who says the recorder is an elementary school 'gateway' to a ''real'' instrument.
In the old days it was the instrument that came most close to the holy instrument (the human voice). And thus it was a very much respected instrument.
that was my attitude until i decided that since ive got nothing better to do, i might as well pick up my old childhood recorder n see if i could remember any of the old xmas carols n primary school hymns.

Is this a Sopranino Recorder?
I didn’t expect a Solo Recorder arrangement of this beautiful piece of music!
Arianna Cunningham true, it’s just amazing!
Yes, it's a Sopranino recorder.
I do believe that this is a solo piece composed by Jean-Jacques Rousseau for traverso. He was a political philosopher but also an amateur composer and flautist.
Actually it’s Vivaldi, from the Four Seasons. “Printemps” is French for spring.
My recorder tutor of the late 1960s told me that much recorder music played on the Sopranino was transposed from that originally composed for descant. Comment?
My tutor's collection of recorders, from bass to sopranino, was made of pear wood, which he believed produced a tone superior to that of maple. He never mentioned ivory as a material for a recorder.
this straight up made my cat literally come from another room and listen to it
I bet her training is going into the forest and having conversations with birds
For folks admiring her instrument know that it does have it's downside. It can't leave the Netherlands. It's an ivory sopranino made twenty years before Lucie was born. I least we get to hear it played by this young master. :-)
Wait, why can't it leave?

Beautiful sound. It sounds really like a joyful little bird in heaven.
Yes it does

YES !!

Twoset Fan too!!??
😂😂👍🏻
Twoset is literally everywhere
I NEVER heard recorder sound as smooth as flute like this before. Oh GOD! It's gorgeous!!!!!
Oh there's a whole range of them from the contrabass all the way to Sopraninio, and the recorder has over 900 years of music composed specially for it.
They should sound good, otherwise they play it bad. A well played recorder can really sound like a flute. But her position is too low.
i would say in this one it's combination of years of hard sweat, than room acoustics together with brilliant recording/mixing/effecting as well as she's likely using a flute sort of higher quality than 10 eur Yamaha from your local music store
@@herrvonunknowngut7141 Really looking forward to hearing your recordings playing solo or with other world-reputation musicians. Especially at age 16.

This is indescribably!
Unimaginably beautiful!!!
Thanks a lot!

So beautiful ! Vivaldi would be crying of emotion to hear that....
How does Lucie get such marvellous sound out of this tiny recorder ? It's like watching a magic show. Fantastic !
So majestic! I never knew the recorder could be such a cool instrument!
The editing is giving me a headache..
Yes, the camera people always like make it about themselves. (okay, maybe not always, but way too often)

Sublime. Only talent of this enormity can bring such a simple instrument to such a beautifully expressed level. Thank you Lucie🇿🇦🌹
interesting...so you're saying I've been playing this all wrong.
I think it sounds best on the recorder
She got the recorder in 2nd grade and was like, “I’m set.”

Lucie is amazing! I'm learning recorder.
The Spring is glittering in the playing of very talented Lucie. Extremely beautiful.
Woow! :O
Do you know if this piece can be performed on a tenor recorder?
Thats not how I do my f fingering, when i do that it sounds semitone lower.
Yours is barroque or germanic fingering?
Me impresiona su talento, y se noto de niña que es buena tocando la flauta
Csillog a tavasz a rendkívül tehetséges Lucie játékában. Csodálatosan szép!

Lucie!!! Which sopranino is this one? It 'so beautiful! Sabrina Roland Cartaxo, from Brazil
could it be possible to make a small tutorial of this ?
Extreme talent and beautifully played. I'm listening with headphones and the high notes are getting a bit too much.
You dont need accompaniment when you can play this well
What Brazil?
Yes or not
Maravillo. Se escucha a los pajaros. Qué prodigio,🌟💫
