My mother used to play this. It's one of the best memories I have of her at the piano. I miss her so much. Thank you for bringing back such lovely thoughts of her. You play it beautifully.

This was my mother's piano piece. She used to play it every day when I was a child. This is a beautiful soulful performance.

One of my father's pieces. He didn't just play the piano, he felt the music and could have gone far but chose another career path... This rendition is indeed soulful... and comes close to how his playing made me feel...

So did MY mother ! She never did succeed in getting right through it without messing up. Hearing this piece destroyed day after day was almost enough to make me completely give up music.

@@and7barton why such a rude comment towards your mother's playing? And what does it mean that it made you stop with music??

Oh, the joys of tax season!
Had to listen to this whilst on hold for the CRA this morning for 90 minutes.
This version is much better than theirs though, it doesn't cut out nearly as often!

Ha! I made a playlist and google drive sheet music collection of all the hold music! What was most maddening is that they were only about minute-and-a-half clips of each piece, so there was no satisfaction of musical development. Just steadily mounting frustration instead.

My father used to play this... Brings back memories... I've been searching online, listening to different versions which are all too fast imo. This one seems slower... how I remembered him playing it... not because he couldn't, but because this piece warranted it. Chenyin Li's rendition is exquisite....

I have a tape of my Mother playing this when she was in her 90's, in 1998. She definitely was not as accomplished a pianist as Chenyin Li, but this brings back such beautiful memories.
