Pretty much
+1
Me using honor 70.. Fully satisfied..
Is it durable? The screen
Thanks Chris for your review, the imx800 camera and the wide angle sensor really impressive
Great job again as always Chris.
Thank you, Chris, for the amazing and detailed review.
Thanks for watching
Thanks for the review))
Excellent low light photos
Good midrange chipset. I look forward to seeing what other manufacturers use this one.
It’s a very good chipset for the price and now in the Huawei Nova 10 Pro but as a 4G version only
Got mine with silver color 🌻☺️
I like those curved waterfall displays where the actual panel isn't curved, only the glass. I believe the Vivo X70 Pro used that approach.
dude, its still a curved display. they are just using palm rejection software, and all of these other screens from these other midrangers like this one is either usjg Samsung patented tech or a Samsung display altogether.
@@SeoWoojin55 Ok but my comment was in reference to Chris's complaint about the color shifting of curved displays. Displays where only the glass is curved eliminates this problem. As for palm rejection I never really had a problem with it, and Chris never mentions it so it's not a big deal compared to the downsides you get with color shifting.
Great review! Honor70 suports main cam rec 4k/60fps?
Nice, typing this from my old Huawei P20, which I use again after my Mi 10T Pro stopped charging after a drop.
Would love to use something like the Honor 70 if easily available again in Sweden..
Btw, I recently got an EMUI 12 update (from EMUI 10) for my P20. Nice that Huawei thought of this 4+ years old phone, which still is quite competent in every day use.
Not so much battery wise if gaming but around 2.5 hours of Asphalt 8/Battle Bay on 720p (~40% screen brightness), I can still squeeze out.
/🖖👽
@@rullebullerdmule6703 the p20 is a great device
Hi sir could you compete it with Motorola s30 pro or edge 30 fusion ❤️
Pretty impressive Chris for a mid ranger!
The phone has premium design and overall look. I am usually not a, fan of curved screens, but this, one looks way too good. The 778g is a cracker of a, chip set👏👏. Comparing to an 870 really says a lot. The only thing I don't get is lack of headphone jack, no SD card, and no stereo speakers. Add these three here and it would be pretty much perfect as a, mid ranger! 👌👌
How are the photos of imx 800 vs Pixel 6 or even p50 pro? If pixel 6 is better might w8 for pixel 7. I feel like I need a good design phone to use and this Honor 70 counts in it.
perfect design!!which colour u would suggest?emerald green....im close! i dont know how much support it will get 2 os updates its a must
It gets 2 yrs of OS updates
Just bought it for my wife. Honourable upgrade over her old Honor Magic 2 because of cracked screen. Hapoy to see Honor still doing good phones.
Do you bet the security updates in time? Would lov to buy this but only 2 more years of security updates. I was a big Huawei user
@@Lance.planes.and.more1 my wife couldn't care less for security updates to be honest but her previous phone was Honor Magic 2 which had a great firmware support so I'm not worried either as we don't buy phones because of promises.
@@Lance.planes.and.more1just get the newest update yesterday. I'm really happy with my device for now. Hope it goes like this for a long time.
Pretty impressive camera I would say 👍🏾 IMX800 seems promising
its not only that its the last sony lens for smartphones the big trick for outstanding photos is working with the algorithms....its a software issue to get the imx800 shinning
Is there any info about the pro global version?
Honor 70 or Redmi Note 12 pro+ what to choose to replace my Samsung S20 FE, mostly used for work and sometime photos and videos
Do you think this work on AT&T's LTE network in the US?
Cool review! By the way, when can we expect a review of xiaomibook pro 14 OLED 2022?
Sorry no plans to buy it this month is expensive with a trip to IFA and the iPhone 14 plus Mix Fold 2.
@@Techtablets no prob.
Wow, 2 videos today
Yes and many more to come crazy busy with IFA.
Any plan on doing the xiaomi 12s/12s pro ?
Thanks for the review. What is the maximum zoom it offers? I can't find this information anywhere.
10x I think it was.
Premium design
how does it performed compared to nova 9?
I'm now specifically looking for a good curved screen phone. Wider screen in smaller body.
What is screen protection technology?
The pricing here almost the same as Xiaomi 12T. Any opinion on this?
I've never been impressed by curved displays technology since
I’m looking for a midrange phone to replace my aging (and cracked screen, unfortunately) iPhone, it’s certainly not easy to find the “best” choice. Chris, would you place this one at the top of your recommended list for a midrange phone, or is there another you’d recommend? Or are you expecting several new and very enticing options to become available soon?
Get an old Samsung flagship, S20+ or an S21 ... Midrange phones remain midrange phones , everything is better about flagships,no compromises for the same price.
@@zakariadjm5895 I’m specifically looking for a midrange as I’m not using a phone enough to (for myself) justify the price of a top of the line model, though I do understand midrange choices will come with some sacrifices.
Besides that, I’m open to any brand consideration except Samsung. I don’t want to buy their products, however good their options may be.
I’m sure (or at least hopeful) that there are other decent choices in the Android eco system, right?
@@jibsaramnim what price range are we talking about? So i can possibly recommend some
@@zakariadjm5895 if the phone Chris showed off in this review is a good example of a midrange choice, then something around this price range (or lower)? Anything much more beyond this would bring it too close to flagship range. Ideally the phone would receive a few years of support too (security patches and the like), I understand entire OS upgrades isn’t very likely - even with the higher end choices it’s not always a guarantee that lasts very long, after all.
I think my TL;DR request would really boil down to; what’s the best bang-for-buck option that doesn’t sacrifice too much in functionality, is built well enough, and doesn’t cost a small fortune? :)
@@jibsaramnim hey my bro I would say buy the Google pixel 6a and you got 5 years of software support and a clean os timely updates or you could go with xiaomi redmi note 11 pro about but xiaomi os support isn’t great and you gotta deal with plenty of bloatwear or oneplus nord 5g all of these phones are less then honor 70
I'm torn between this and the 90, which would you recommend?
if there is too much different about pricing between these two models, i prefer 70. Because features are similar even chipset is not that much powerful than previous 778g+.
Will this phone work on AT&T?
This? Or Realme Gt master? They have the same processor 🤔
It is good phone but they need to justify the price tag with better dual speakers and 3 years of updates.
I dont see any way jus justify the high price of this. It's pretty much similar to Honor 50, Samsung a52s and realme Gt master of even mi 11 lite.. But the starring price (~550) is also like double than some of the other options i mentioned.
Sure you get better cameras but thats about all extra you get.
The chipset is basically identical.
And no micro sd, headphone jack or even dual speakers.
Where I live this is priced very similarly to 11 lite... Same as 11t pro 128-8
i love curve. flat screens tend to be unconfortable at times
Both have their pros and cons for sure.
How do I get it in countries that Honor still hasn't launched the phone in?
Only miss is absence od stereo speakers. Its strange for this price point and in general on 2022 phone...Weird desicion. Apart from that its great phone, just to wait for pricing, i assume it will be more expensive than a53 or moto edge 30. Something around 500-550e in Europe, in range od Realme GT 2.
if it's a good and loud speaker, it would be fine for me. But I assume that it is not...
Yes a very strange choice not to have stereo loudspeakers
A trait shared by Vivo, where stereo speakers are only available on the most expensive models.
Google service available?
Meglio honor 70 oppure oneplus nord 2t?
Nice car. Utube cash is finally coming
chiming in
Just Ferrari RUclips is giving them out with Tesla’s 😂😂
It is worth to sell the Honor 70 and buy Galaxy A54?
The OS is Harmony?
Thanks.
its MagicUI 6.1
@@lltechview Okay, thanks!
Realme 10 pro + vs honor 70
pls tell me which one good sir?
camera and performance honor 70 wins design speaker build quality and durabality realme 10 pro plus
Love the flatness of screens when LCDs and AMOLEDs took over. Curved screens distort the image, just like old CRT TVs. Not going back to that.
Yes that edge colour shift is the main reason I prefer flat.
@@Techtablets hey, can you suggest best phone under 500$ for good camera and display, pls. Thanks!
@@Techtablets that's the reason why I prefer ips over oled, because of IPS legendary durability, I can't remember the number of times, I've accidentally dropped my phones and they were still working fine, IPS is cheap, that doesn't mean it's trash.
Nice to see it now comes with Google Play & Services 🤘
Haven't Honor phones always come with Google Play and Services? I thought it was only Huawei that is affected by the ban?
@@omarf2406 if my knowledge serve me right, Honor was affected too... and even pulled its stores out due to declining sales
edit: Honor & Huawei is slowly recuperating and still is thriving
@@omarf2406 some of their late 2020 and early 2021 models like Honor V40 and 9A were affected by the Google ban. Honor 50 was the first model with official Google under the new management
nice phone, but there is too much competition. already we can get 2-3x cheaper phones with SD778G. galaxy A52s is great.
So basically the only downside is the price. Yeah I just checked on Aliexpress, the Poco F3 with SD870 is like $200 cheaper, though it's from last year.
Honor 70 better to a52 s in terms of camera espcially night mode
If only i had a 3× telephoto, i prefer purchasing an old Samsung flagship for that reason
This have a slow motion video?
Yes 960fps 720p
Don't know why they left india.
I am a big fan of Huawei/homor phones specially for their camera.
They need to come back to india bro
Because Indian government has been cracking down on operations of Chinese brands. Xiaomi, Oppo and Vivo all got investigated for tax evasion and money laundering, so Honor was playing it safe and out of India for now
It's a flagship or a mid-ranger phone? can't be both.
What I mean from the title is it’s like a flagship phone the features and build, screen but then it had a midrange chipset. But yea it’s a midrange phone as per the chipset
Pro - Fast charging? Con - No Gorilla glass?
GSMA says CPU throttles down to 20 % in CPU stress test ⚡👀🤷...
mono speaker
no SD card
bloatware
update path?!? Android 13/../..?!?
MagicOS 7 based upon Android 13.
No throttling on my device playing Genshin highest quality for over an hour
@@lltechview just try run CPU Throttling Test for a while
why run a throttle test, when it is good in his usage in genshin impact ? it's not like he'll buy the phone for a throttle test lol
@@U_H89 bruh 😂 why... He is literally doing one of the most demanding tasks you can do in a phone...
Nice specs, but i looks so tacky + curved edges is no no for me
It's the most premium feeling phone I've ever touched. It even feels more premium than the s23 ultra
Them,honor 70 or honor 90?
They are so similar. But I prefer the 90.
Curved look like more expensive phones. I see you dont like macro cameras, modes 🙂
Doing the rear camera portrait test on a statue gives a wrong impression. If you do it on humans it does not do a good job. However, it's still a good camera phone in that price range.
Yes. That’s normally my children, but they weren’t about for it. However it was a good test of the stitching.
That 2Mp depth Sensor is just as useless like this macro crap.Would wish they put in a optical zoom
Yes it isn’t for photos as such like the terrible 2mp sensors but only to improve the stitching performance of portrait shots.
can this phone support google?
Yes it comes with Google Play
Hopefully the honor 80 will get released In the uk
Its not worth it its much more expensive and it only has a snap 782g and has a way worse camera
Realme GT 2 (888) vs this Honor?
Wich one record the better bitrate audio3on videos?
Maybe you can make a video explaining why manufacturers dont choose the BEST bitrate and how se can know before buy
Oh no... No Stereo speakers 😢. Once you're used to stereo speakers, you won't go back to one speaker. Nice camera's and the Antutu score of half a million, almost as high as the SD 865 in my Mi 10 👍🏻😀
Is it good in your opinion?
Blurry indoor images. Spent lots of time making sure I got a usable non blurry indoor photos. Sold it after few days.
I can’t buy a phone that’s spelled wrong. 😅
It's too expensive bro 🤣
8/128 600 euros. Shity single speaker, no IP rating, not even Gorrila or whatever protection, no oleophobic coating. Only for Huawei/Honor die-hard fans.
I got it for 380€ 8/256. I don't give a shit about the speaker because I use earphones and the ip rating... Just don't drop your phone in a water. It can withstand Rain and sand I've dropped it in sand and used it in rain
@@mememememememememe1 Are you still using this phone? Can you add password per app e.g I want password for a bank application or gallery. Thanks.
Ofc flat screen is better
Nope.
No. Curved screen provides a nice and premium feel
The biggest downside to me is the no IP rating
Just don't drop your phone in water. It can easily withstand getting wet by rain and getting dropped in sand. I had it in my backpack and my bottle of water spilled everywhere and the phone got wet and nothing happened even tho it was full of water.
Flat, curved is useless. Mono speaker :/
The curves are so so so annoying! Am i the only one?
huawei= honor= no android updates
Honor is separate from Huawei now, and has official Google services. Honor phones will get Android updates
The huawei MATE 10 got a update a week ago, and that phone is from 2017. So you are very wrong, huawei has even longer updates than Samsung
Ugly design..glossy back and big design for the back cameras.
Design is fine.
$650 is NOT a midrange price. This is the 1st video I have seen of yours and it is the last one I will view of yours.
Why are you angry? 650 is still in the midrange bracket, I would consider midrange around 400-700max
@@eliasavelino6729 Not angry at all. Just disappointed. Your interpretation of "mid-range" and mine are not in agreement so I choose to watch reviews from other youtubers instead.
Got it for 380€ with 256gb and the official price is not high anymore if u visit the honor site it costs 399€
Maybe depends on country. This isn't 650$ in my country. It's $400+.
