Hello Charlie! Thanks for the informative video. Canadian Pacific Completed it’s Purchase of Kansas City Southern back on 12/16/21 for approximately 31 Billion.💰
@@railfanmaximstill7279 KCS announced they was going to build a yard near where I live in Jerseyville Illinois about 5 years ago but it was contingent on the completion of the highway 255 extension which all but done. I’m wondering if the CP purchase is going to change the plans or not.
Thanks for watching! While KCS was bought by CP, I believe CP and KCS are currently operating as separate companies. There are issues the STB still has to review before an official merger.
In the back ground of one of the first shots you can see a welded rail train it was out in Douglas and villa rica for about 3 weeks doing work perhaps the orange maintenance vehicles were just back after finishing up out there
I can't even get footage of a normal KCS unit since in Dallas TX, things like foreign power are somewhat uncommon, but I've seen an NS & a CSX in Dallas once.
With our MoW equipment none of them have knuckles. They are all loaded on flat cars, usually only if its over 100 miles though or they will travel them
So another railroad is being merged out of existence this will leave 3 major railroads (please correct me if I'm wrong) CSX, Norfolk Southern, and CP . Guess I should be glad there still running
@@v12productions Must make switching harder. Cars can't be kicked up that grade, they would have to be pushed all the way. Glad I'm not the man on the ground lol 🤣
So I'm not sure it would be a broken knuckle. Those are repairable by the crew 99% of the time. Maybe it was a planned set out or there was some other issue.
I disagree. A Rail fan is known as a foamer. Also we have an extraordinary amount of rules and protocols to follow so unless your in a safe area. Just stay away and watch. I personally have no problem shooting the shit with someone about it, but safety above all.
Slight error: that wasn’t a carman, he was a new hire. if he was he would be wearing a hard hat and a green vest. other than that this video was made with 99% accuratcy
Quite a grade change on that yard.
Most likely what's called a "hump yard" which was used for switching cars but I thought all had been closed down or the hump was removed
Yeah I used to stand at that crossing after school before I go home and watch a few train go by
Fantastic footage! That sure was quite the grade in the yard, especially to be going up from a complete stop! It made quite the interesting shot!
Very cool catch! I see some KCS locomotives down here in southern Texas but definitely not one as cool as this!
I've seen this unit multiple times through Houston. KCS passes here every hourm
*hour
The brownie line has significantly increased kCS and bnsf activity as UP kinda has drawn back. Bloomington yard you can catch a ton of action
@@TheGlidandDelRioRailfan I also saw a KCS de México Gray Ghost Coming through my hometown once!
Beautiful videography! Some nice catches on that one. Cheers, Bob
Thank you!
Very cool catch of the KCS and nice video. Enjoyed watching.
Thanks!
@@v12productions Your welcome.
Great footage, Charlie
Thanks!

That’s odd, I thought it was Canadian national

I knew I recognized terminus! Nice catch!
Sweet catch brother!! Love to see some historical pics of that shop!!
Oh.. the stories it could tell.
Thanks! I've been trying to find some old pictures of it.
I have to admit, I kind of hated myself for missing this. At least I got to see bnsf 5872 earlier that day on a northbound coal train.
Holy crap, thats my neck of the woods. Be careful over there near south yard v12! Good Luck!
V12, nice work. Your videos are very informative. I always learn something new about rail fanning and your video techniques. Well done.
I really appreciate that. Thank you!
nice storyline, thanks!
Thanks for watching!
Great catch.
Excellent catch 👍
Good stuff man. Keep it up.
Thanks!
Check out the CUB throwing the switch
The engine noise is awesome i love that noise 😃
Buford, Georgia represented here, Gwinnett County.
Excellent video
Thanks!
Great video
Thanks!
I saw a grain hopper train being lead by 2 KCS GE-8 and GE-9 units
Nice thumbnail pic!
New Subscriber. Really enjoy your work. Keep it up. Thanks.
When CP bought Central Maine & Quebec Railway (CMQ), they left the engines in their original paint scheme.
They're repainting them now.
Nice!
The grade on that hill tho😳
I remember working on 6901 at serm before they moved
I hope CPKC makes up a really awesome paint scheme..

0:05 I happen to read SORFOLK RAUTHERN my eyes lol
I'm guessing it used to spell "Southern Railway"
Wow, i railfan at irondale Alabama. Sadly, I cannot make it in time to see the locos
cool vid
I tip my hat to you man, u truly are amazing
I noticed that the kcs ac4400cw has the same thing as Norfolk Southern the unit have rear ditch lights
I have seen the KCS 4859 in México....
With our MoW equipment none of them have knuckles. They are all loaded on flat cars, usually only if its over 100 miles though or they will travel them
We saw this unit in Morelia city around one year ago.
Excellent video.
Wonder how long before CP repaints them ?
I’ve never seen that engine.
I saw 4859 on May 10, 22 coming from school
I just saw that engine near me a few weeks back
I like how the CT (orange vest) was NOT by the conductor which is actually a rule violation. Hehehe.
great video !!!

@@davehughesfarm7983 OOOOOOPs your right 5 major railroads

Is that a hump yard? The grade looks pretty hefty otherwise. 🇬🇧
Strangely, it's not. Not sure why it has such a severe grade.

Very cool 😎 indeed 😎....
Well explained vid!
4:42 - Billboard in the background says "Sexually Risky?"
Yup. Encouraging people who engage in risky sexual practices to get checked for STDs.
The south district aint that busy like I said on your community post
Yep Macon hey I’m up here
I’ve seen that KCS engine twice
I saw 4859 not to long ago
That's IF thay ever merge. I'm not fully convinced thay will.
Wow.

It won’t be long the railroads will be so boring to look at with everything that has changed and closed it won’t be worth railfanning anymore. 😢
Don’t be afraid to get closer, most railroad workers don’t mind rail fans.

I’m the 400th like in this video
If you want to see cool power and are near Harrisburg pa go to the enola yard and you can see engine NS 911 Doing yard work
Tell KCS that BNSF said that they need them back
