    Instead I used Taylor expansion of e^x ....writing that as e^(dx lnx) as dx is very small I then neglected (dx)^(any except 1) ...so I get lnx dx + 1 -1 = lnx dx

    use series expansion of a^x and neglect dx square and higher powers of dx
    integ of X^dx -1
    expanding X^dx we get 1 + lnx*dx/1!
    so finally integ of lnx dx

      aur dx ke higher power ko neglect kiya h as dx is a very small quantity
      aur jo 1+ lnxdx aaya wo sahi h aur question dekho usme -1 diya h toh sirf lntegration of lnx dx bacha
      sirf ek step khaya h
      by the way it is correct

      Great method, btw the limit of (x^h - 1)/h (where h -> 0) is also derived using the same expansion, so your method is the most basic method.

      this method was used in a que asked in JEE ADVANCED 1983 OR 1987 don't remember exact year but ya check outbpyq book that que was awsome too

    We can write it as [e^dxln(x)]-1
    Then by expanding e^x form
    We get [1+dxlnx+[(dxlnx)^2]/2!+.....]-1
    Here we can neglect (dx)^2 and next highest degrees of dx
    Then we get 1+(lnx)dx-1
    It gives us simple expression (lnx)dx
    Integrate it you will get your answer
    Simple

    I was able to trace back the question once, you multipled and divided by dx, as i thought of the first principal in limits, and then i could do this one.

    I have a fundamental question on this. Does this question even make sense? We should see integration as an operation and not a combination of three "symbols": an integral sign, a function and multiplication by dx.
    Perhaps I am coming more from a physics background that I see it as an operator just like div curl and grad.

      @vikas navande let's go back to the first principles. What is the function that one is integrating here?
      Can you draw it's graph? Can you then create a Reimann sum from that?
      Again, having a curly long S symbol in front of anything, doesn't make it an integration.

      Integration taught in 12 th class is riemann integration and in no way riemann integration can be used like this

    Aise hi constant waala format use kar liya
    Ye toh x^y type ban gya na jaha log use karte hai....small hone se constant thodi ban gya
