Instead I used Taylor expansion of e^x ....writing that as e^(dx lnx) as dx is very small I then neglected (dx)^(any except 1) ...so I get lnx dx + 1 -1 = lnx dx

We should see integration as an operation and not a combination of three "symbols": an integral sign, a function and multiplication by dx. Perhaps I am coming more from a physics background that I see it as an operator just like div curl and grad.

Great method, btw the limit of (x^h - 1)/h (where h -> 0) is also derived using the same expansion, so your method is the most basic method.
this method was used in a que asked in JEE ADVANCED 1983 OR 1987 don't remember exact year but ya check outbpyq book that que was awsome too

Integration taught in 12 th class is riemann integration and in no way riemann integration can be used like this
