Your course is great! I didn't even think that I am able to understand english grammar in english. Well done! :)
Dear Prof,
I was wondering if I might dare to ask you a question about adjective order. Do let me explain presently, someone said, " Shape before age, and someone else age before shape." Would you please tell me the right order ? I do think age before shape, is that correct?
I am deeply sorry for disturbing you. I pay my respects to you. Andrea
+ Andrea Giraldo MD, Thank you for your comment.
Adjective order is usually taught as a guideline only, in English we can be flexible with adjectives and depending on the reason and emphasis can change the order accordingly. However a generally accepted guideline is as follows: Opinion/size & shape/ age/colour/origin/material/. Keep in mind that we usually only use between 2-3 adjectives.
Example: Jonathan is a beautiful, young, tall, teacher.
I hope this is useful to you,
Danielle at Maltalingua
Thank you kindly, prof. andrea
