when I ask my sister which bag she wants me to make for her, Its this one. Ive made a few of them, and its a pretty bag!! BUT ...I do struggle with the sides... i havent thought to do it like you did, it does make sense! i do not mind the drop in , that is where that cylinder arm is a good freind. Thank you for the videos, You are like having a sewing buddy!..
I love at the end where you say "I hope you didn't come here for a professional tutorial!" I died laughing!!! I'm so happy to know that even the "super bagmakers" like you look at a bag and say "I think it's lopsided". You are the best and the bag is gorgeous. I've made most of the Swoon patterns but not this one and now I may have to bite the bullet and try it. Thanks for the inspiration especially in these days when we all need that little something extra to keep us motivated. One other thing I have to commend you on is your use of good grammar. My mother was a high school English teacher and good spelling and grammar was instilled in us from day one. Thank you.
Oh my goodness FABULOUSLY AMAZING!!!! That turned out so darn cute and I absolutely love the beautiful vinyl. I think you’re just a bit critical of yourself which most artists are (my mom and daughter are both artists). So glad fuzzbutt Ben joined us for the tutorial too. PS...love the extended “blooper you talking to yourself “ at the end.
I haven’t read the comments, so forgive me if this was suggested - try using a heat gun on the floor pointing up and holding the bag “near” it. It will help soften the vinyl and make it easier to turn. I do that when I need to turn footballs after embroidering them. Thanks for the video! I want to make this bag for my upcoming flight!
You amaze me everytime!! I loved the bag especially the color combination 😍. I day dream of one day being as good as you......(you inspire me) I really need a better sewing machine.
I know you’ve talked about where you’ve gotten your press for rivets, but I can’t find it. Sorry if it’s been asked a million times but I really need one and can’t find one that has a 9mm die for the rivets I just got from your website ! Thank you!
Love Love Love the the colors you chose as always a fantastic job ,Lauren where do you buy those fabolous thread colors I cannot buy any thing as bright here in Aus just dreary colors hate it when I cannot mach color thread to fabric
Did you adjust the size of the main panels because you put in the zipper the way you did? The original pattern calls for a different way. I like this way better.
How would you do this bag with the birthing method? I hate drop in linings as well but I have a domestic machine and don’t think I could this binding method either
@@LaurenMormino Thank you! I’m still debating on which one to go with myself (between the 1181n vs 1541s). As you stated, I like the smaller foot myself too.
@@nancybee640 The 1541 is a very powerful machine. It will sew over very thick layers. Can't get close to zipper teeth with the regular foot. I did get the right and left zipper feet. I really like the machine but the threading is more involved than the 1181. I'm certainly not sorry about buying it but I would try both of them out before you buy if you can. Hope this helps.
@@LaurenMormino I have a Juki dx 7. It is new. I have used double-sided tape for years sewing jeans/ simple bags. Among other things on my old machine ( Brother embroidery), I never had a problem. Well on my Juki, I keep getting skipped stitches. Somebody said it could be because of the tape. SO I am trying everything, needles, thread, tension. It makes me miss my Brother embroidery machine. haha. On another note, thank you for replying. I have learned a lot of things by watching your videos.
I bought my Juki 10 months ago and ordered it with the synchronizer. I was so easy to install and I love it. I think it was an extra $30 and well worth it.
@@LaurenMormino when you were talking math while sewing about the 1/2 " or so I was so confused. Best part watched it 2 xs to understand. Love love love your tutorials.
You are the sugar honey ice tea!!! The confidence you have while moving that fabric under the needle is perfection! smooth moves! love the colors
If it is lopsided I sure can't tell. Another gorgeous bag finished. I love all of the color and of course the style of bag. Great job.
You’re incredible!! So young and such a great seamstress!! 🧵💜
I've just purchased this pattern so your tutorial has come in just the nick of time!!
It is stunning!! You make it look so easy. Thank you for sharing your expertise!!
Hi! Love this bag. You are amazing
Thank you for showing this method! Definitely trying this pattern this weekend I’m so excited 😆

Thanks to ypu I started making my opwn purses and I am loving iy, I had eye surgery a few days ago and I cn harly see.
I loved this video. Thank you so much. Can’t wait to get started!
Thanks for making this bag in an easier way. I have this pattern but am afraid to make it.

Where do you buy your name plates?

Very pretty
Sew Good Lauren! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻✂️🪡🧵🌸💕🥰
wouldnt that gusset be so much easier on the cylinder arm you have?
Did you adjust the size of the main panels because you put in the zipper the way you did? The original pattern calls for a different way. I like this way better.
I did yes!
@@LaurenMormino How much did you take off of each side, 1/4 or 1/2?
What kind of snips are those? Very cool!
Tula pink EZ SNIPS
You are so talented. I hope one day I can be as good. 🥰♥️🥰
Were did you get the goosebumps fabric? I need this in my life.😊
Another question, does the waterproof canvas fray or feel sharp?
Nope! If it’s cut straight and not jagged it won’t fray
How would you do this bag with the birthing method? I hate drop in linings as well but I have a domestic machine and don’t think I could this binding method either
Checkout my video on the Dallas duffel bag! That’s how I’ve done it before to not be a drop in. Or just make a Tribbiani travel bag by sincerely Jenn!
@@LaurenMormino thanks so so much! Love you ❤️
Love it!
Hi. bought this swoon pdf pattern but there was no main panel in the pattern. is it just my purchase or there is no main panel for this pattern?
It is measurements given
Did you say you could use a domestic machine on this my machine would never go through it
Haha I don’t believe I did no.
Love this bag! You vinyl choices are stellar. Is that awesome lavender “Not Today Bobbin” shirt available to buy? I want it SO bad!! 💜😉👍🏻
They’re coming back!!
do you have a website to buy your purses???
Moremeknow.Com
Do you cut along the width of the waterproof canvas for the binding?
Nope! There’s no stretch in the WPC
what I meant was is it up to me to create the main main panel. this will be my first project and Im bombed out
Hi Lauren, do you cut your waterproof canvas at a bias for the binding? Love the video !
I don’t believe it has a bias so just cut whatever size strip you want to cover up the seam.
@@twinslotaddicts thank you I didn't think it had a bias grain line to it either.
What model is your Juki? I have a DDL 8700 that I love but yours is different,
du 1181N
You stated the 1541 might not be able to go over those strap connector, is that because the foot is larger?
Yes! And someone confirmed
@@LaurenMormino Thank you! I’m still debating on which one to go with myself (between the 1181n vs 1541s). As you stated, I like the smaller foot myself too.
I have done those connectors with my 1541. You just can't get as close to the hardware with the 1541 having a wider foot.
I’m so glad you commented. I was wondering what restrictions there were. I am debating between the 1181 and 1541.

How do you avoid sewing through the double-sided tape?
I don’t. I sew through it

How long are the straps on this bag?
I cut them to 22”
Do you have a synchronizer on your machine?
Nope
