I think it would be awesome if when a character picked it up it they couldn't decipher the symbols on it and the symbols started glowing as it slowly turned to dust flowing into the character and from that point on they got a eerie chaotic feeling or heard low distant drums in the background whenever the player had to make a dice roll causing anxiety or stress in the character just like the player must be feeling lol
Of course you have absolutely no desire to paint anything gold…. It does look amazing with the black though. These are definitely interesting dice. It’s a really cool idea and it looks like they were well thought out. It’s always nice to see you review something new and different.
As a dice hoarder, I get where you're coming from. Also as a dice hoarder I completely disagree. I have tons of dice. So I ALSO need this one on top of all the others. I need this for the same reason I need 20 sets of all 7. And why I need more d20s even though I have close to 100. And why I need a d100 despite having plenty of percentile, and why I need 2 d30s that I never really use.
I just gotta say, inking the arrows different colors depending on what dice it's supposed to represent helps a _TON_ with the readability of the die. Before you inked the white one, I had a hard time with figuring out which was which, but after, I could read it really quickly.
There's only one type of arrow. You always follow the one on top, and *then* pick d4 or d8. This is necessary to divide 20 faces fairly between 8 outcomes: some (most) faces are split in half.

A possible solution to solve both the rolling issue and the ambiguous face issue is to make the dice larger. It could be a bit cumbersome but having it larger and made out of a very light plastic would allow the edges to be steeper, causing less rolling and a more definitive result.
*Loving* the idea, it's brilliant. I did try reading some numbers that were rolled in the video as if I really rolled a dX die and wanted a result. It was mostly possible, some times I wasn't sure which d20 to read if the die lands on the d6 end. A bit of feedback if the author is reading: the arrows are definitely detrimental to the readability. When you roll a die, you want a result, not an instruction on where to see the actual result. Plus d4 and d8 arrows look the same, furthering the initial confusion. Considering the arrows are there just for aesthetic reasons (?), I feel it would be exponentially better to just print out the result directly. There would be multiple of the same d4 / d8 result, but that doesn't really matter as far as functionality goes, does it? And it would be instantly readable.
This is great feedback, but thinking about it, that leaves a weird amount of numbers for the d8/d4. There are 20 faces, so you could easily have 5 sets of d4, but how do you get the right amount of d8's? You'd have to have at least 4 faces with arrows or SOMETHING on them that directs to another face. You could definitely do triangles on all of the d4's though :)

Okay, i need these, they roll way better than the ones i tried to make years back, that and a rotating funnel that they can do an extended coin black hole spiral down until it finally rolls into position in a nice little track at the bottom.
Even colour-coding the die types on the faces would help SO MUCH for where the faces land, so even as a cishet person looking at the pride die, this is _satisfying_
Black and gold look amazing, although might I have interest you in black gold and silver linings?. The pride jawbreaker has some nice potential. This is most definitely a gimmick, just like the D100, but an interesting and useful gimmick nonetheless, don't think it will reshape the industry, but with a little bit of work I can certainly see this doing the rounds. Amazing review as always!
I like the suspense they can give, just going... and going... sloowly. And the coloring each die type a different color is a great idea! At least a couple of them, so like silver for most, and then gold for one that you keep mixing up or to coordinate with arrows.
I feel like this would be a good scare dice for behind the screen. Nobody knows what you could be rolling for, and it's substantially louder than regular dice!
Mathematical aproach: Let's make a die that shows the result of a d6, d20, d12, d8 at the same time. Engineering aproach: Let's make a system that only uses d6.
If I were going to use this, I'd have to have it in the pride colors. My brain couldn't make sense of all the different numbers when they were the same color, but having them color coordinated helped. It helped focus in and block out everything else ("I'm just looking for the red number right now, the rest don't matter," etc). I do like the concept though, and if I had fewer processing issues, brain-wise, I would love it.
I need this. I like the white one best, followed by the gold. The black does not contrast enough for me. Side note, a clear one with water inside and a tiny air bubble to show you the option rolled would be neat.
I feel like it would be good to use for a DM who wants to kinda hide what dice he is rolling, especially percentile vs any other dice. It would be cool if it would be possible to make dice that are like, multiple dice rolled as one to add to the intrigue too
This makes me think of other possibilities.. Like a pachinko machine so you can watch your players' faces contort as they watch their roll slowly move over to a 1, peg by peg.
This is one of the most interesting things I've seen in a while, and I love it more than I'm able to put to words! It's a die with a learning curve, but wow it's neat!
That's a good idea! I backed the kickstarter, but for me it was always just a novelty item. A d20 and a d12 would be just as easy to bring and could do the same job (and be easier to read),... oh, wait... that would also work for what you are suggesting. Nevermind. I still like both the die and your idea.
I backed this project after seeing this video three years ago and it finally arrived at my house today. I upgraded to a metal one too, and it's rock solid, around 300g. The noise this thing is gonna make when I roll it at game night is gonna cause a panic attack xD All seriousness, it's a good dice, more intutiave than I thought it was gonna be. Of course he painted the d4 golden. That takes some real courage to have the power of wisdom to do so.
Cough (triforce) cough
Even colour-coding the die types on the faces would help SO MUCH for where the faces land, so even as a cishet person looking at the pride die, this is _satisfying_
Black and gold look amazing, although might I have interest you in black gold and silver linings?.
The pride jawbreaker has some nice potential.
This is most definitely a gimmick, just like the D100, but an interesting and useful gimmick nonetheless, don't think it will reshape the industry, but with a little bit of work I can certainly see this doing the rounds.
Amazing review as always!
I see this at the checkout counter of local game stores. A fun gift to give someone and keep in their bag :) Thanks Vanerek!
I like the suspense they can give, just going... and going... sloowly.
And the coloring each die type a different color is a great idea! At least a couple of them, so like silver for most, and then gold for one that you keep mixing up or to coordinate with arrows.
“7 dice in one”
Is a ball.
These look so cool, and I think inking the different types in different colors was a great call. And a Ridin' Dirty joke in 2021? Mad lad XD XD
Yeah any color coordination for the numbers will always help! Maybe the black can use varying shades of gold...
@@Rybonator Just stay with metals used in coins... gold, silver, copper, etc.
These sound like boulders hitting the table. Definitely a conversation piece.
"Who's to say you can't enjoy pride while eating a jaw breaker"
Sir. *Sir.* *_Sir._*
Oh. OH.
@@johnyshadow I hear you. Been there!
Ooh wait I think i get it?
Color coding for the different die results is a really good idea on that one.
I didn't knew this up until now but I NEED THIS
Glad I could share this number golfball with you :)
I need this. I like the white one best, followed by the gold. The black does not contrast enough for me. Side note, a clear one with water inside and a tiny air bubble to show you the option rolled would be neat.
I just commented the same thing before I read this. It'd be if the liquid was dyed and you could even put glitter inside it.
the gold one is giving me serious treasure planet vibes with the map
I feel like it would be good to use for a DM who wants to kinda hide what dice he is rolling, especially percentile vs any other dice. It would be cool if it would be possible to make dice that are like, multiple dice rolled as one to add to the intrigue too
I fear no man, but that thing, gestures at ball dice, scares me
Good. All should fear the god ball
This makes me think of other possibilities.. Like a pachinko machine so you can watch your players' faces contort as they watch their roll slowly move over to a 1, peg by peg.
Doing each die type a different color also makes it easier to discern them.
This is one of the most interesting things I've seen in a while, and I love it more than I'm able to put to words! It's a die with a learning curve, but wow it's neat!
Seems like the perfect die for a DM to build suspension or to confuse players.
That's a good idea! I backed the kickstarter, but for me it was always just a novelty item. A d20 and a d12 would be just as easy to bring and could do the same job (and be easier to read),... oh, wait... that would also work for what you are suggesting. Nevermind. I still like both the die and your idea.
One die to rule them all. One die to find them. One die to bring them all, and in the darkness bind them.
Use them like contact juggling balls, or like those zen balls you swirl around in your hand to look mysterious
Why not juggle your mysterious Zen balls?
@@Rybonator Why not use these to signals that you're mysterious, but you really like tabletop games
Dudes, its not a dice, its the map to Captain Flint's treasure planet
Looks like a witch or wizard would use some of those to foretell the future in a movie.
'LOOK INTO MY ORB OF... Ahh dang it, my orb was on the 1's side. I can't tell your future today.'
@@Rybonator oh, I'm so sorry but your future isn't looking too good, natural 1 AND 00% chance? That's not good.
I backed this project after seeing this video three years ago and it finally arrived at my house today. I upgraded to a metal one too, and it's rock solid, around 300g. The noise this thing is gonna make when I roll it at game night is gonna cause a panic attack xD
All seriousness, it's a good dice, more intutiave than I thought it was gonna be. I originally picked it up as a collector's piece but now after actually using one, I think i might try it for a session.
My one question is how would you roll specific percentages? I get the tens place, but what about the ones place?
I do like that jawbreaker look!
Just roll it again, once for the d10, and once for the d100 of the percentile :)
To have a true d100 incorporated into the die, you'd need a 600-sided die instead of a mere 120.
I don't like how the pride one looks personally but I think that would be a good way to learn that die since it's color coded
This die looks like it's written in a mix of Timelord and Enchanting table.
The symmetry, it's perfect, I want four.
Walks in "hey man, you got your dice"
"Yeah" drops one of these on the table "oh yeah, and I got a full set" drops 6 more, unnecessary, but just to flex
I feel like color coding the dice makes it sooooo much clearer! Plus, pretty, shiny.
It's the infinite sided die from gravity falls, how did you get that?
You never go visit cartoon worlds? It's a fun trip
Separate colors for dice types would be absolutely great for production models
He said skill and was expecting skill share to pop up lol
Gotta keep you on your toes... ;)
i feel like if i buy this im gonna start hearing "a new hand touches the beacon"
Yo they made the D Infinity from Binding of Isaac a real thing pog
Lol it do be lookin' that way
I would love to have a metal one of this. Especially if the rest of the table didn't know about it.
Imagine the dm rolling for damage and you hear that thing thunk, especially if they have to roll it multiple times to get the damage.
Corners are out, now my die is BALL
Sharp Edge dice are SO yesterday
@@Rybonator Way too edgy!
I have arrived from a random youtube recomendation,
i have no idea what any of this means but it looks nice and i like the noise it makes
