    Those door cards are..odd. White and red? That’s not factory. And the after market radio with...a row of toggle switches mounted in a piece of wood? And that steering wheel...in white? Lots of mods in the engine bay, too. I’m not so sure about this one.

    • @steves9905
      @steves9905 3 года назад +1

      I believe the toggle switches are a replacement for the ATC-II system that has been removed from the car...rebuilt control units were prob not available at the time so they made do. the door cards are different color between front and back...agreed the red/white is strange. I believe these came with rim blow horns...steer wheel has been replaced...note the button under the dash for the horn. If this is an original color car, its interesting...couldn't have been a common color for an Imperial...maybe special order. but needs some sorting to bring it back. prob an old man owned it originally, got overwhelmed by all the things it needed, and the next owner rigged it up best as he could given the lack of parts for an unusual car...I do like the fuselage body Mopars.

      @@steves9905 This car has definitely been tinkered with. There are many alterations between this and my 100 % original 1972 Imperial. So sad that all these easily repaired items could have retained the original appearance and function if only they had been given the attention they needed instead of hacked up and poorly executed.

    The horn is a switch on the dash instead of the rimblow on the steering wheel. The fan operates with an aftermarket toggle switch. It’s got an aftermarket radio. Both doorpanels on the front doors are incorrect. That flip up sun roof is an insult to a classic vinyl top. A noisy open air cleaner doesn’t belong on a luxury car. Aftermarket valve covers & coolant hoses. The A/C compressor is removed. Sorry to say this Imperial is ruined for a big part.

Here is the good news, dont buy it, simple as that. However there might be a guy out there that is looking for a project and has some spare parts to restore it. Guys once these cars are gone, that it. The world will never make these beauties again.

    Strange that the guy made no mention of the aftermarket sunroof.
    I would have to watch that part again, but I didn't see any controls for the auto climate control, which this car would have had. Just two toggle switches?? And that tiny horn switch down near the floor? There's something wrong there. And those door panels looked goofy too.

      Occasionally the rim blow mechanism would fail and instead of replacing the parts which were easily sourced from the dealer people would run a switch or button for the horn. I replaced the rim blow set up on my 1974 from the dealer in 2008
