Unless you are ready to work for 15k max without your family and without your children forget UAE. Schools are expensive and not accredited by western countries. UAE business model is very simple: To hire very smart asians but with low wages because they will come without their wife and children to Dubai. I did all my studies in Europe, UK nationality with 3 masters degrees (finance, IT, and accounting) and 15 years of experience abroad, never got any interview in UAE in 10 years... Employers hire people not because of their competencies but because of the color of their passport thats it.
Kinda confused here. You say you’ve UK passport, experience and degrees but still did not get an interview in 10 years. But at the same time you say that employers hire on the basis of your passport. So having a western passport is a disqualification? Because they can pay less to other passport holders? I’m a Canadian in telecom field thinking of moving to Dubai....so a little curious to know your experience
@@nashzimmer3819 sorry for my late reply. Yes this was the case for me. Could you please make a video for international doctors in Dubai? You could interview a doctor there who moved from another country, India for example.
I largely feel it's unwise to travel to the UAE then start looking for a job. Firstly, you are unemployed, the cost of living is extremely high. It's like going to NYC in hope to look for a job. Secondly, it's a huge risk, you might get caught up after all your money is gone. Best to find a job from your home country. Makes life easier.
Three years ago, we watched this video day dreaming. Today we are in Dubai, my husband got a job thanks to these tips, connecting to people doing what he wanted to do. An ovservership last year connected him with the person who recommended him. This is focus and go for it. ❤
Thanks for this information, 64 now and moving to Dubai to look for jobs in the Arts. I look foward to the journey. Hope my experience can be used in the country.
I have travelled to UAE from the US and during my consulting engagements seen nationality being used to decide someone's salary. UAE is working on a lot of good things but sadly discrimination in salaries is still the norm in UAE. Your nationality and ethnic background is never a requirement for a job and at least in the west opens you upto big lawsuits. UAE needs to work on improving its transparency in hiring and salary offers. Otherwise they will never be considered working at the ethical standards we in the west pride ourselves on. This guy seems to be evasive and looks like he was justifying discrimination by companies based on nationality. Not a career advisor I'd want my child to work with.

In case you're not an over analytical sociopath like I am, let me break down what happened from 0:50 - 1:18 he basically said that his friend told him to move to Dubai, so he could try Dubai market, because it's very.. you know... umm... (couldn't think of anything to say) (so he just follows it up with), "there's so much to do here" (but couldn't give any examples of what to do) (so he then proceeds to change the topic to sway your mind from the topic at hand and then says... "Plus also the environment, the culture, the food, everything..." let me explain what's wrong with this statement here. He portrays the environment under a positive light, but just in case anyone didn't know, Dubai has temperatures well exceeding 100 degrees Fahrenheit, whatever that is in Celsius idk tbh. Basically means you could die from a heat stroke if you stay outside for too long. He also underlines the culture as there was supposed to be foreknown, positive meaning behind that. I just wanna say that there is no culture out here... BECAUSE the actual native people in this Emirate make up about 5% or less of the total population of Dubai. I have more points on to why culture is non existent here in Dubai, but I want to get to my other points... He talks about the food, I don't understand why that would be a deciding factor or variable on why you should move to a completely different part of the planet (that's because it's not). Then he says "everything" as glue to link his previous statements to his next batch of brain-dead material. Like we're supposed to know what everything is. What's really sad tho, is that this comment will be deleted because people can't handle the truth, and for several other reasons I do not have time to explain.
I like this comment I’ll be honest. I simply want to work in UAE because I want to elevate my quality of life in terms of money and exposure. There is nothing else that excites me. Especially being from a third world country, I find the place to be intimating and excessive yet this is from where I think I can give myself and my family a good life money wise.

That shouldnt be an excuse. the UAE was made what? 50 years ago or somewhere around there? in terms of local culture being non-existant, that's because UAE consists mostly of foreigners. last time I checked it was about 95% foreigners. It's been that way for a very long time. I don't know how it would be possible for somewhere to have culture if almost all of the people who live and work there aren't even from there. Only way you can make money in Dubai is if you have a degree and connections. but best believe other fees are going to soak up that money real quick. Workers without a degree that I HAVE talked too make the equivalent of $400 a month, have to share a bed with other workers in between shifts that also share a small room with much more people just to reside out here and keep working. there is no minimum wage. Theres too many people in the UAE to compete with for better jobs. I could keep going, but I feel that if someone is going to ignore these facts right here, they are some ignorant, brainwashed sheep who can't think for themselves.
