My right eye spherical number 5.50 cylinder power 1.50 and left eye spherical number 4.50 and cylinder numbers 1.00 what contact lens do i get?
Hey, I’m struggling with the lens power. Please help me out.
My prescription says: the power of my right eye is -1.50 Spherical 0.50 Cylindrical
& left eye is -1.25 Spherical, 1.50 Cylindrical.
What should be the power of my contact lens ?
hey my glasses prescription is right eye - sphere -0.75, cylinder -3.0 , axis 6.0 and left eye is sphere -1.25, cylinder -1.75, axis 159.0 what is my contact lenses prescription
Right eye…sph4.5, cyl -2.5 Axis10
Left eye. …sph 4.5. Cyl-3 Axis 180
Please let me know the power of eye each
Hi thanks for your video Help. I have questions that: my prescription for right eye is: spherical -3,5/ cyl -1,00 Axis 163 and left eye is spherical -5,25 / cyl -1,00 Axis 175. Same the way in video i get tonics lens prescription is
- for right eye -3,25/ -0,75 x 160
-for left eye -5,00/ -0,75 x180
I'm not sure about Axis!! Longing for your help and thank a lots ❤
@@thuhuyenlai4564
Right Eye: -3.5//-0.75 x 160°
Left Eye: -5.00/-0.75 x 180°
Note: In any meridian power less than 4D, it will be remain same.
@@optometry-with-samiri got it!! Thank you so much 😊 ❤
Hi! Quick question,
If my contact lenses are -0.65
what would my glasses prescription be?
Your question is wrong. There is no contact lens having -0.65D power. It will be either -0.50 or -0.75.
Can you solve for me
SPH -1.75 CYL- 0.75
SPH - 1.00 CYL - 2.25
I don't understand. My right eye is -4.5, -1.25 axis is 25. Left eye is -4.5, -1.5 and axis is 170.
How can I convert this into SPHERICAL contact lens power?
in case of contact lenses if i have -.5 cylindrical power and -1.75 spherical power can i use -2 spherical power contact lenses? axis 180
Your question is not designed correctly....
5D cylinder power is not possible to correct with any spherical contact lens. You have to try with Toric contact lens
@@optometry-with-samir But sir for toric lenses i must have a - 0.75 minimum cylindrical power, whereas i have only - 0.5 cylindrical power and - 1.75 spherical power. So in that case can i not use an equivalent of -2 spherical power and 0 cylindrical powered lens?
Yes u can use
@ahnikpurkait7152 0.50DC is neglected
my doctor said +0.75 glasses equal to +1 contact lense.
but i do this math and i get 0.7585 at the end, what did i miss?
Less than 4 Diopter power there is no need of changing power. You can use +0.75D as contact lens power.
@@optometry-with-samir hmm my laser eye surgeon said +0.75 glasse = +1 contact.
maybe because for laser eye surgery need different calculation.
@@optometry-with-samir in the past i used +0.75 glasse, now i use +1 contact for test it before surgery and i feel its even weaker that my +0.75 glasse, it feels like +0.5 thats why im asking :)
@@wearetheborg
Nope it's same for all....
But whether you wear +0.75 or +1.0 your vision won't be affected.
Note: For plus power over correction is recommended... So you can go for +1.0.
@@wearetheborg
Plus power reduce overall brightness that's why it seems vision reduced but that not the case.
6/60 contact lens power please ? reply fast🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Hi! I’m thinking of buying colored contacts and was wondering what power I would need
My right eye: +2.00 sphere, -0.25 cylinder, 175 Axis
My left eye: +1.00 sphere, -0.50 cylinder, 160 axis
RE: +2.0 Sphere
LE: +1.0 Spbere
My glasses power is -2.00 on both side. What power of contact lens should I get? Help
Same power... Below 4D power there is no need to calculate the contact lens power.
- 3.5right cyl 0.50 Axis 180
-3.5 left
What will be my contact lens power
You get it figured out? Mine is the same

My glasses prescription is -7.00 on both eyes what contact lenses do I get?
-6.50D
Bro for my both the eyes power is -6.50 , what power of contact lens should i use plz tell me 🙏
-6.00
Great video and nicely explained. You also bother to reply to comments! You have a new subscriber, sir!
May I ask if AXIS is the same for CL and Glasses?Thank you
I have -0.75 sph on both eyes and -1.50 cyl on left eye with 92 axis and -2.50 cyl on right eye with 90 axis. What will be my contact lens powers?
Please let me know doc. I can't get this right.
✓If you go for soft contact lens then you need Toric Soft Contact Lens with power:
RE: -0.75 /-2.25 x 90°
LE: -0.75 / -1.25 x 90°
✓If you go for RGP (Rigid Gas Permeable) lens then spherical RGP with power -0.75DS may correct your Refractive error but you need go for trial.
Note: Ideally, contact lens power should be finalized with trial lenses and needs more data like: Base Curve of Cornea, HVID, pupil size etc. This power conversion is based on theoretical formula and may not suitable for you. Better to consult with an Optometrist.
@@optometry-with-samir thank you so much for clearing it out for me.
You had put cylindrical power on wrong axis... It is 90/
No, You are wrong.
If you don't know how to write Sphero-Cylinder power from optical cross, you can watch this video about Optical Cross: ruclips.net/video/TBOReXX0JCU/видео.htmlsi=_-kF_VP4G-yC8-k_
Thanks for the video! I have a few questions:
1. In the formula you are using a vertex distance, but a contact lens has an internal surface and an external surface, so I think that there are two vertex distances. However, the distance between the surfaces is too small. With this in mind, are you considering the contact lens as an unique surface?
2. Respect to the cylinder calculation, it is indistinct if the toric surface is internal or external?
Even though normal vertex distance is 12 mm (much greater than CL thickness), it's impact is significant when spectacles power is 4D or more. So CL thickness is not a significant factor.
For Toric also calculation is same but we choose Front, back or Bi-toric based on the types of Astigmatism patients have. Front toric for internal Astigmatism, Back toric for Corneal Astigmatism, Bi-toric for high degree Austin
@@optometry-with-samir
hi, based on this i have a question.
if the px has a toric prescription, we would use the formula, but how do we know whether they have internal, corneal or high degree astigmatism?
@@janhvi8679
Watch this video: about Corneal and Internal Astigmatism in Contact Lens: ruclips.net/video/Z4RbPbwO71k/видео.htmlsi=s5dytXeaCw-dnBfF
For toric can we use spero cylindrical power calculation
For Toric we have to distribute the power meridian wise then have to calculate the power in both meridian. Then again we have to write it onto Sphero-Cylinder format.
