The Aspergers brain is amazing. My son could not read well until he was 9 years old and began music therapy with his guitar. Music unlocks bits of the brain that reading does not. He can play his guitar, the piano, ocarina, flute, dulcimer and this weird little harp thing i bought on facebook. He does not read music but listens to you tube mostly and then plays by ear. He is now 20, an Honors student, and will graduate from University in Spring of 26 witha BA in Poli Sci and 3 minors. Plus, half of his MA in Ed. completed. Music has incredible power.
@DiscoCatsMeow That's wonderful to hear. We have a similar experience with music. My child was diagnosed with Aspergers at 6 and severe dyslexia at 9 and we had to home educate her from the age of 9, for her sanity and ours. She started guitar lessons at a young age, but couldn't concentrate in the class and we decided to stop the lessons, as she wasn’t getting anywhere. But, around the age of 9 or 10, she developed a thirst to learn. She started with lessons on drums, then guitar, then violin and she has taught herself keyboard as well. Then she got into writing and won a national writing award. Now she's studying filmmaking at college. It has been an amazing journey, especially considering the rocky start.
Music is really math. Once math is comprehended you can understand many more topics. Music needs to be taught in every school and available in any grade.
he was one of my son´s best friends at school. Don´t see Sean so much now, but what a genius! Hopefully we´ll here more of him sooner rather than later!
I was very much like you, mate when I was your age...could not get off the Piano after my mum stopped me after 11 hours...now ageing I am paying for it...carpal tunnel syndrome...but do not regret a thing! The piano is till my world...maybe not so much playing it, but listening to it still gives me the shivers...GOOD LUCK
Sean is absolutely incredible it was an absolute honour to meet him and watch him perform, he has something very special a genuinely beautiful caring intelligent compassionate empathetic soul...... 🫶
WOW! A Star Is Born! Sean's 'Gift' is as great as Beethoven's, Mozart's or Bach's. He's a 'Once In A Century' Musical Genius who could write brilliant symphonies as easily as you and I tie our shoes!
1:09 [old New York man, mild Yiddish accent] "what? It'd kill youse to tune it?" _apologies. Untuned pianos are my kryptonite_ The kid (I'm 70) is simply terrific, plus, this role reflects beautifully on Ms. Winkleman.
Did they find him? How? And where can I watch more of this guys incredible piano playing. It feels like an emotional release which I can connect too. 😮
The first piano he was playing is SO far out of tune. I’ve been playing since I was five, so 63 years. I love he knows when and when to not use the sustain pedal. Most players cannot their foot there and never come off it. He’s amazing. Donny Osmond, who I used to work for, played for years and could never read music.
The psychology around the talents Scots is interesting !!. they were wanting to lay claim !,to him an put him on a stage. But !! like he says he “doesn’t conform to the ideal learnt structure” if they do manage to get him to there stage it wil be very much on his terms not theres .
Mika and Lang Lang Why don't you just listen the wonderfull music and shut your mouth ! When YOU do music, you like when people talk loud and do not respect and listen the artist ? 🦍🎹🎼🎵🎶
Those deux are so noisy ! Let us hear the pianist instead of your horrible comments ! Bravo pour le pianiste, malgré la nuisance d’à côté. Mika et Lang…
The only problem I have with this is that he can play the piano, but what the heck is he playing. He is playing very robotically with no feeling whats so ever but thats his aspergers coming out. To play a piano you need to be in touch with your emotions and he sadly isn't. This was just a piece of music that was all over the place with no begining middle or end. Something all jumbled together that sounded a complete mess.
Come on......this is set up.....this guy can not really play, and what he plays is not musical. I don't believe Lang Lang is talking about THIS performance.....

These judges are easily impressed.

ayoooo i used to go to those tunnels all the time

Brilliant . Chilly gonzales style.
But how is this Sean? Saen who? where can I listen more of his plays?
Wow
and please prove me wrong...this one in the Audience is Lang Lang...one of my favourite pianists in all time?!?!?

I overuse the sustain pedal.. I’ve often wondered why and can only put it down to the age of the piano I learned on
"I copied it..." That is how I taught myself English when I was 4 years old.
It's insulting not to give the artists full name
It may of been his request?
it's for security purposes plus he provided medical information.
@@stevenknudsen7902 He says his full name at 4:33 !
@@stevenknudsen7902 No it's not lol, hi name is literally in the credits at the end of the TV show
Why do you need it
Sean who? Where can I listen more of his plays?
I wish they would post 2024 footage💔
I'm in the US. When is this from?
@WillBravoNotEvil I think they are on season 4 or 5
@@WillBravoNotEvil Glasgow, Scotland. This guy is super talented. A star in the making.
2:12 " Why should we use a computer?" ?? Where did that come from?!!
Because Electronic Dance Music is programmed and not recorded using real instruments.
@@sideshowbob6241oh, this was electronic dance music? I was wondering….I guess I’m the only one not liking it?

Totalement d'accord !

Wow... a lot of noise!!
Winkleman's hair and make-up are so ridiculous.
I agree, she looks like a cartoon.
"Special" yep really "special". I'm sorry but it doesn't sound like music but just banging on the piano. I don't want to enter his head ever again.
The world is not limited by your perception of what a piano can or can't do.
What constitutes "real music" to you then?
Right? It's just some guy doing unhinged improv.
@@shona5512 either the music is enjoyable (pop) or has aural complexity (classical) or is in some other way interesting.

meh cud he no play something all we know? jazz is just a noise to be honest
