Yes to socks/underwear...just purchase cool/funky or unexpected ones, and say they are from the kids...men always need socks and undies. If your husband likes grilling you can get awesome lighters for the grill in fun shapes like a screwdriver or a fishing pole (Lowes carries them)...those were a hit when friends came over for summer BBQ's. I also made him a "Mantern" it is a lantern filled with items to make a manly drink (think minature whiskey, bourbon, tequila, rume, coca-cola, limes, straws, etc.). Then after you remove all of the items you can set the lantern out on the deck and chill for the evening sipping on drinks with his buddies.

It was easy to throw together last minute AND (bonus) I can change the picture anytime to surprise him and the gift keeps giving! ;)

I have a crisis pack for my husband haha. Got mini vodka bottle in it, with a video game, a gift card for his favorite store, a pj, a photo of the family and his favorite snacks. Only open in case of emergency melt down :)
