- In the vast expanse of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, with 32 epic films under its belt, one movie often gets lost in the shadows of its more celebrated counterparts. Enter "The Incredible Hulk," a film that not only stars Edward Norton as the tormented Bruce Banner and Tim Roth as the menacing Abomination but also sets the stage for pivotal characters like General Thunderbolt Ross, reprised by the legendary Harrison Ford in "Captain America 4: Brave New World" and possibly in the highly anticipated "Thunderbolts." Marvel Phase 5 is already making waves with the resurrection of "X-Men: The Animated Series" through "X-Men '97" and the triumphant return of Hugh Jackman as Wolverine in "Deadpool 3," alongside Ryan Reynolds' iconic Deadpool. As the MCU continues to expand with the official casting of "Fantastic Four," it's only a matter of time before we dive deeper into the rich tapestry of Marvel's most underrated gem, "The Incredible Hulk," and uncover its profound impact on the ever-evolving cinematic landscape. Maybe after Avengers Kang Dynasty & Avengers Secret Wars, we might FINALLY get the Hulk movie fans have been championing for: World War Hulk.

Best Hulk since Bill & Lou, love this movie got this and The Best of the OG show.
Another lil tidbit the helicopter drop was also done in a different way in the movie on NBC "Death of the Incredible Hulk" there was more movies planned but unfortunately Bill Bixby passed away.
Thank you for making this. I’ll be honest, I liked (read this next bit correctly) PARTS of this movie far more than Iron Man. Blonski’s arc of being obsessed with Hulk’s power while simultaneously wanting to destroy him, having 3 rounds to fight him; Once normally then juiced on super soldier serum and then as abomination, I loved that. Good love story where he doesn’t get with Betty in the end for her sake
The incredible hulk movie is pretty good and underrated
When the Hulk wasn't nerfed and actually terrifying
I understand your statement, but... Hulk was never nerfed. If you're familiar with the comics, then you know that Professor/Smart Hulk, claimed to be Bruce's mind in Hulk's body, is actually a separate personality in Bruce's mind, much like Bruce, and Hulk, and Joe Fixit, that THINKS it's Bruce's mind in Hulk's body. See, Bruce has DID. Possibly to a much LARGER extreme than Marc Specter does. As of now in the MCU, though, he's not been mentioned to have it. Which means they just haven't introduced that, yet. They could also never introduce it, but I find that unlikely.
I get you personality wise, but in terms of strength he’s really no stronger than ruffalos hulk. Definitely stronger than professor hulk, but he really has no feats over later hulk aside from being generally angrier.
@alexisdogbo7958 I think the whole over insersion of humor by the MCU. For a character who's strength comes from his anger not humor.
The Avengers movies' Hulk can make huge land spanning leaps like the comics' version, while this one can make tiny jumps in comparison.
Hulk wasnt nerfed in avengers 1&2 and ragnorok…
I appreciate The Incredible Hulk. The scene where he used the car as boxing gloves was great. Saw it with friends and family opening day the day I got my drivers license. I’ll always enjoy this movie
Hulk knows how to fight, but that completed murdered in infinity war in opening scene.
I'm finally glad someone preaches this take. I've always loved The Incredible Hulk movie due to how it handles the character of Bruce Banner. The only flaw I'd give the movie is that it's pacing is a little off at times.
The pacing of the movie is fast and it works for the movie for the most part but when I went back a few months ago to re-watch it I felt that the movie could've been a little slower during the character connective moments.
But other than the pacing it's such a great movie about a man trying to control his inner demon and learning how to accept it.
I still think it's one of the best and underrated MCU movies imo this is what the hulk should have been in the future of the MCU. We saw it a little bit in the first Avengers but after that they nerfed and the rest is what we all know as if it now. Even the abomination design was sick in this movie. I hope down the line we get a good interpretation of the true of The Incredible Hulk in a good storyline with a good villain and action
I miss monster hulk. Even when he’s being a hero we should be a little scared of him. He’s terrifying, not a big green teddy bear.
I'm so glad Comic Corner is back. And yes, this film is ridiculously underrated. It handles Bruce Banner better than any future Marvel movie. This is the real, emotionally deep and terrifyingly powerful Hulk. Not the Avenger's nerfed comic relief.
Was a good film
I will say, as a pretty big fan of the Hulk, this movie was a dream come true for me. Tbh, in hindsight, I actually think it works a lot better oddly enough. The idea of Bruce beginning as an unstable secluded guy on the run, to a more laid back guy who's managed to overcome his instability is honestly super great.
The Dark Knight Trilogy and Toby Maguire's Spider-Man Trilogy had a lot of love. Which is one of the reasons why those movies are so great.
“You’ll see that a lot of those things people had criticisms about are very intentional.” That’s exactly what I thought when Coy said people criticized this movie for being too dark. The Hulk in this movie isn’t some celebrity with merch and a cosplayer in Times Square and shit, he’s a terrifying monster that lives in the shadows. And the movie emphasizing that with how dark everything is was a really clever and intentional choice imo.
But 100% agree this movie is very underrated. I’ve watched many a “watching the MCU for the first time” series and in almost all of them people comment “eh you can skip The Hulk movie it’s mid and not that important” which is a shame cuz I’ve loved this movie ever since I first saw it back in 2008.
It's definitely my favourite Hulk design, actually looks like a rage machine
This makes me wish we had more savage Hulk. We need more of that!! Glad more Coy❤❤
Liv Tyler is perfect in the film. She felt completely genuine in her performance (per usual) and you definitely feel her split and rebellion against her father immediately, that sells the 'origin'. And its an origin story without being an origin story for what the MCU did with him. Kinda amazing.
Mine is Thor!!! I loved the style Kenneth Branagh had for the character.
Yes thor 1 is the best thor movie
I wish they kept with the fantasy epic theme rather than making Thor a total dumbass.
Thor 1 I would put as the 2nd most underrated/underappreciated movie. It was the first to establish the existence of other beings and magic. I remember that being one of the big topics of discussion about that first movie.
So happy that Coy's Comic Corner is Back and it's better than ever! 👍
Loved this film. Hulk looked fantastic and the final battle was blazing.
What do YOU think is the most underrated MCU movie?
Shang-Chi and the Legend of Ten Rings
the Incredibel Hulk and Thor the Dark World
Ant-Man and The Wasp - fun, hilarious, and so rewatchable
Captain America First Avenger
Ang Lee's Hulk is super underrated
I made a lot of memes of it.
Yeah absolutely agree coy, do enjoy listening to your thoughts and views on these characters in the mcu.. ive always felt the hulk in general is underated as a character. Would love to see him more in mcu
Blame Universal for that, they still hold his film rights
So glad that Coy's Comic Corner is back!! And 100% agree with this take. What I wanna know is see why people don't talk about how Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes did what the MCU did but almost better.
Yeah i love the Avengers earth's mightiest heroes show
Saw The Incredible Hulk in theatres . Loved it ever since
I was 13 when Ang Lee's 'Hulk' was released. In 2008 when the MCU gave us this I felt like it gave me a proper Hulk film, something I wanted in 03. It redeemed the green giant. The hulk was one of my favourite Marvel properties growing up. I watched the original TV show with Bill Bixby, and the 90s animated show growing up. This was all I wanted from Hulk. Ed Norton was a great Banner and to this day the incredible hulk is still one of my favourite MCU films.
What other topics would you like to see Coy discuss?
I started being a huge marvel fans 5-6 years ago, and when I was going through the movies, I was surprised to find out people didn't like it as much. I definitely agree it's the most underappreciated of the MCU films
Absolutely this film is the most under appreciated in the MCU. There was such great setup and wonderful pacing, tension and aspects of horror. Great pick.

Absolutely agree. Incredible Hulk is actually one of my favorite MCU films, in general. 1. Missed the Comic Corner!! We need these every week It's definitely my favorite Hulk design, actually looks like a rage machine Yeah absolutely agree coy, do enjoy listening to your thoughts and views on these characters in the mcu. I've always felt the Hulk in general is underrated as a character. Would love to see him more in mcu Aw man, this is one of my favorite MCU films. Great action and story. And the chemistry between Betty and Bruce is amazing. What other topics would you like to see Coy discuss? Absolutely this film is the most underappreciated in the MCU. There was such a great setup and wonderful pacing, tension, and aspects of horror. Great pick. I know most people don’t like The Incredible Hulk but I love the Incredible Hulk movie I think it’s one of my favorite mcu movies hmm let me try to work on it For me Iron Man 2 Tony and Pepper felt like a real relationship especially the back and forth on the HUD First off, I really liked Edward Norton as Bruce Banner, I liked the design of Hulk, and you can feel the rage inside him. My favorite fight scene was at the university with the sound cannons and the huld fighting Blonsky. It really just was a great movie and I do agree that this entry is still relatively underrated. Coming off of the huge success of "Iron Man", the movie itself was relatively pretty tame and by the books in its own right. I know that Samuel L Jackson showing up at the end of "Iron Man" as Nick Fury gets a huge reaction, but you think about it, Downey showing up at the end of THIS movie really cemented the idea of: "Hey. We're actually doing The Avengers." Jackson's cameo could've just been nothing more than a tip to the hat to the fans, but Downey's cameo really sold the idea that we now had two separate movies being in the same continuity. It sucks that they were never able to do another solo Hulk film. All things considered, I am happy to see some plot threads from here finally being picked back up with "Captain America: Brave New World" (albeit, without Hulk himself). When it comes to Hulk himself, I do appreciate the sentiment of "THIS is the Hulk we always wanted to see." I totally get that. That being said though, I actually still don't mind where the story took him in "Endgame". It actually is a really cool arc to see him go from this movie, where he's actively trying to find a cure, and learning how to essentially cope and deal with what he's considered a curse (and even in the first "Avengers" movie, alluding to the fact he tried to kill himself), to "Endgame" where he's now in control of the Hulk, can maintain friendships and acquaintances, and acknowledging that what has happened to him, has resulted him being "Made for this," which is saving the whole universe with the makeshift gauntlet. Do I miss the raging Hulk? I do, but I still like the arc, considering what Marvel was able to do with the constraints of Universal. Hopefully, they can find a way for us to see the raging Hulk again, without undoing the character building of Bruce becoming more stable and in control (which has been the case in the comics at various points). By far the best Hulk on film, felt the struggle between Bruce/Hulk and the love story works very well. This Hulk was so cool & the final fight scene was epic! The MCU butchered the Hulk after this. I think the only kind of cool thing the MCU did with the Hulk after this, was when he fought Thanos on the ship, but that didn't even last long. I actually loved the visual style/cinematography of this movie. It had a very natural grounded and gritty aesthetic to it that made it look different to the rest of the mcu. It looks way better than any recent mcu movie. I think it helps it was shot on film just like the majority of phase one. I know there was a Tweet by one of the trusted industry insider scoopers stating that, in DP3, a Wolverine variant that our Deadpool will meet will say that he fought a “giant green monster” (obviously referencing the Hulk) and that will be our only extent of a Wolverine vs. Hulk easter egg moment within the film. I desperately hope that is not the case. Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine deserves the long-awaited battle between his first-ever comic book appearance opposer and we, the audience, deserve to see it live in action, on the big screen. X-Men Days of Future Past is one of the best superhero movies ever made man It’s never been my favorite MCU film but it wasn’t a bad movie. This was supposed to be the beginning of the Hulk we all wanted.
I like Mark but his Hulk is so tame. Also, I personally think Ant-Man and the Wasp is the most underrated MCU movie because it feels like a smaller story (no pun intended) where it’s just about this family and a moral conflict between the heroes and antagonists, who aren’t really villains. It might be underrated because it came out post-Infinity War, but it took place before it, and it was a very lighthearted movie in between 2 pretty heavy movies My dad and I have said since day 1, that Mark Ruffalo is a good Bruce Banner but Ed Norton is a good Hulk. And we still maintain that the Incredible Hulk could kick Avengers Hulk's ass every day. All you need to look at is the campus scene. I'm sorry, but the silhouette in the bridge before he breaks out in full Hulk form is badass and awesome. Couldn’t agree more man. The Incredible Hulk is SO GOOD! I used to watch it in loops I wasn’t a fan of the 2003 Hulk, but thank goodness for the 2008 reboot! This was an MCU film that I think improved over what the previous film failed to do. Ed Norton captured the angst of Bruce Banner. I know things did not work out with Norton and Marvel, so he left. But the transition to Mark Ruffalo was smooth due to the fact Norton and Ruffalo are good friends. He bequeathed the role to him. I have always said this. It’s honestly one of the best (in my opinion) MCU films in the entire franchise. I never met anyone in my life who said he/she didn't like the Incredible Hulk Nah nah, the most underrated is Ang Lee's Hulk since the end of that film is where TCH is starting. Ang Lee's Hulk should be included in the MCU and get the praise it deserves! I actually think Incredible Hulk is very underrated I think it’s a great movie, yes the CGI is a bit dodge but it didn’t really bother me. Glad Coy has his comic corner back ps my underrated is Cap's First Avenger or Age of Ultron.
THANKS for this, Coy!!!!
Coy gave some interesting points. May have to give it a rewatch.
Also VERY happy Coy’s comics corner is back.
Looks like edward Nortons hulk will be in deadpool 3 😁
Dude I LOVE your passion! Honestly this is one of my MCU favorites!
The amount of times I watched this movie as a kid is astounding. Thanks for the great vid Coi!
I totally agree with u on that Coy
Love the comic corner ❤❤ great video 🔥🔥🔥🔥
I grew up with the hulk movies
oh my word thank you, thank you, thank you for doing this video! I have always felt like I was the only one in the world who really loved The Incredible Hulk movie, it was the Hulk I grew the most attached to in the MCU, I loved the Bruce/Betty dynamic, and Emil Blonsky was such a good villain.
1. The Incredible Hulk has always been my favorite Marvel movie since I watched it in theaters when it first came out. It could be nostalgia speaking but I also did recently rewatch it and I think it still holds up really well.
2. Missed the Comic Corner!! We need these on a weekly basis 😁😁
Aw man, this is one of my favourite MCU films. Great action and story. And the chemistry between Betty and Bruce is amazing.
Fantastic video!!
Really great analysis, as usual!
First off, I really liked Edward Norton as Bruce banner, I liked the design of hulk, and you can feel the rage inside him. My favorite fight scene was at the university with the sound cannons and the huld fighting blonsky. It really just was a great movie iver all
Absolutely agree. Incredible Hulk is actually one of my favorite MCU films, in general.
love these videos and would also be into other people on the channel who do reactions maybe have a spotlight video like this on a certain movie or tv show they have special interest and love for.
Love from Belgium 🇧🇪 ❤ Coy, always a pleasure ❤❤❤❤
I know most people don’t like the Incredible Hulk but for me i love the incredible Hulk movie I think it’s one of my favorite mcu movie
They should’ve honestly followed a similar relationship to what they had in avengers earths mightiest heroes. Hulk is Bruce’s anger, protective personality that comes out when angered, in danger due to his origin with his father and stuff like that. And hulk and Bruce are very clearly two different people, that have a relationship that talk to each other. Something I feel they definitely missed out on
Every time I watch the Incredible Hulk, it gets better and better. I think my problem with it is all the potential it had for the future that never happened. But now that it is happening, I’m really excited to see how they do it, and I think if it works, it will enhance the viewing of the Incredible Hulk a lot more for everybody.
Also, I personally think Ant-Man and the Wasp is the most underrated MCU movie, because it feels like a smaller story (no pun intended) where it’s just about this family and a moral conflict between the heroes and antagonists, who aren’t really villains. It might be underrated because it came out post Infinity War, but it took place before it, and it was a very lighthearted movie in between 2 pretty heavy movies

Couldn’t agree more man. The Incredible Hulk is SO GOOD! I used to watch it in loops
This is not only a gem but one of my favorites
Dude you nailed that intro. Me realising it's not a watch through. Lol. You nailed that video buddy. It is a great movie. I love it. I hope we see liv in the future.
Great video looking forward to more Comic Corner videos and I agree with what you want with the Hulk in the MCU I think that a great model for the Hulk archetype is in the show Avengers Earth Mightiest Heroes where Hulk isn’t a genius but he can still form sentences and there is still the constant battle for control and we have multiple instances of Bruce and Hulk talking to each other but even with the conflict when they can use the Hulk’s destructive power for good they’re able to come to an understanding and I’d love for the Hulk to be portrayed in this way going forward
By far the best Hulk on film, felt the struggle between Bruce/Hulk and the love story works very well.
I wasn’t a fan of the 2003 Hulk, but thank goodness for the 2008 reboot! This was an MCU film that I think improved over what the previous film failed to do. YES I love comic corner!! Incredible Hulk was one of the first marvel movies I ever watched and it remains one of my favorites. Definitely agree with it being under appreciated, but I think a lot of times people use the intentionally differently portrayed Norton hulk to bash the ruffalo hulk for being “weak”, and you do an excellent job of stressing that they were cast for different things, the “individual/loner vs kinda team player” was spot on imo. Much love y’all 😁
I still stand by this is the best hulk live action thing ever
Good Take👍🏾‼️
I know there was a Tweet by one of the trusted industry insider scoopers stating that, in DP3, a Wolverine variant that our Deadpool will meet will say that he fought a “giant green monster” (obviously referencing the Hulk) and that will be our only extent of a Wolverine vs. Hulk easter egg moment within the film. I have always said this. It’s honestly one of the best (in my opinion) MCU films in the entire franchise. I do often wonder what would’ve happened had this been a bigger hit and Edward Norton/the producers didn’t have a falling out. I think we truly would’ve gotten something special with the Hulk instead of what he’s become now.
I always felt like this movie was slept on. Its probably one of my favorite MCU films.
Aahh I did not notice the bottle from TIH in the Deadpool 3 trailer 🤯
The biggest gripe i have with this movie personally is Norton, he doesnt really scream "im an expert in gamma radiation" or even "i had an A in science" it really goes to show that Ruffalo was the first pick
I'm so glad Comic Corner is back. Also agree the film is underrated. I really enjoy it.
I love this movie, and edwards Hulk was so underrated. Age if Ultron and Shangchi, along with Incredible Hulk are so underrated
I never met anyone in my life who said he/she didnt like the incredible hulk
And Wolverine vs the incredible Hulk (norton) would be amazing 😍😍😍😍
I've always loved The Incredible Hulk and I've always gotten funny looks for having it in my top 10😔
Thank you! Finally, people are talking about this movie!
@Reel Rejects. I love how you're doing this Coy 👏👏👏 this is one of my favorite movies......I'm gonna say it.....we need a comic corner of you talking about how Madam Webb was a complete and utter failure in detail.
Love to see a reviewer who really knows what his saying. I always watch reel rejects, specially if coy is one of the reviewer.
I agree with you, Coy!
one of the best hulk movies. action packed.
It’s never been my favorite MCU film but it wasn’t a bad movie. This was supposed to be the beginning of the Hulk we all wanted.
I like Mark but his Hulk is so tame.
I actually think Incredible Hulk is very underrated I think it’s a great movie, yes the cgi is abit dodge but it didn’t really bother me. Glad Coy has his comic corner back ❤ ps my underrated is cap first avenger or age of ultron.
9:01 didn’t expect to feel this way watching a coy video:,)
Speaking of underrated marvel movies, I believe y'all need to react to Next Avengers: Heroes of Tomorrow! It's so good!! Plus there's that rageful hulk in there. So underrated! Btw, this is Day 3 of begging y'all to watch it!
FINALLY!!!! Someone understands my feelings for this movie
THANK YOU FOR THIS!!! The Hulk is my favorite character and this was my favorite version. Way better than Ruffalo
Not watched the video yet but for me alone it's the score of the movie! The OST is so good and underrated in my opinion!
Let's go! CCC is back
I'd really love to hear your thoughts on the Immortal Hulk comic run. I've no doubt you've read it. It makes me hope that Hulk's next chance at a movie is a an animated feature, I think that medium holds so much potential for the character.
Finally something me and Coy and agree on.
Thank you!! I love this movie. The ending night was so brutal. The casting was perfect. I’m bummed we still haven’t had a ‘The Leader’ payoff.
I’ve always loved this film and loved the Hulk in it and how terrifying he was.
He actually felt like a monster and powerful, I will always go back and watch it.
I most of the time forget it’s an MCU movie up u til RDJ rocks up at the end 😂
Me and my brother loved this movie growing up , before we even knew the mcu was a thing, shit I didn’t know what the mcu was since avengers came out and I was 10 years old. We’d watch the movie at least every 4 weeks when visiting our dads house. Good times. I wasn’t even aware of the hate surrounding this movie until I was like 13.
Finally after all these years
this is the hulk we wanted 😢
For me iron man 2 tony and pepper felt like a real relationship especially the back and forth on the HUD
I am glad that this back
X-Men days of future past is one of the best superhero movies ever made man
I see Coy spitting comic book knowledge I hit like 👍
I have to agree with you on the Incredible Hulk, he’s always been my favorite character in fiction. I actually own the complete series of the original show with Bill Bixby and Lou Ferrigno on DVD.
It would be cool if you did this kind of series where you explain why (movie) is underrated. For example, the next one you should do is why The Wolverine is the most underrated fox marvel film because it is.
The Incredible Hulk is an amazing choice! I’d have to say the most underrated MCU movie is Guardians of the galaxy 2. The way they use music in the scenes and weave the music into the story is just incredible. It brings such a fun vibe to the screen.
Another great vid Coy! Are the DC animated reactions coming back. For me The Eternals is the most underrated MCU movie
Last time I was in New York, I kind of broke Harlem.
100% agree that this film is underrated
Bru Greg teased the wrong was hyped for Storm ⛈️ keep em coming
Finally giving this movie its flowers
I have always liked this version of the Hulk in this movie. Although, our current Hulk is great I would love to have seen this version again in the MCU
Glad I wasn't the only one who loves this movie.
Thanks for sharing this. I've always said the same thing about this movie.
First, the romance between Bruce and Betty was one of if not the best romance ever depicted in the MCU. It was them against the world. They would give their lives for one another. And you felt it. That extreme loyalty and sacrifice they'd give for one another was palpable in almost every second they were on screen together.
Also, the music score when Betty first saw Bruce in the diner and reunited with him in the rain entitled Reunion, is my favorite theme in the MCU. Much like their romance it grabs you and doesn't let up.
I do agree that this entry is still relatively underrated. Coming off of the huge success of "Iron Man", the movie itself was relatively pretty tame and by the books in its own right. I know that Samuel L Jackson showing up at the end of "Iron Man" as Nick Fury gets the huge reaction, but you think about it, Downey showing up at the end of THIS movie really cemented the idea of: "Hey. It actually is a really cool arc to see him go from this movie, where he's actively trying to find a cure, and learning how to essentially cope and deal with what he's considered a curse (and even in the first "Avengers" movie, alluding to the fact he tried to kill himself), to "Endgame" where he's now in control of the Hulk, is able to maintain friendships and acquaintances, and acknowledging that what has happened to him, has resulted him being "Made for this," which is saving the whole universe with the makeshift gauntlet. Do I miss the raging Hulk? I do, but I still like the arc, considering what Marvel was able to do with the constraints of Universal. Hopefully they can find a way for us to see raging Hulk again, without undoing the character building of Bruce becoming more stable and in control (which has been the case in the comics at various points).
