Glad to see Alien3 love! I’ve always felt that most of the criticism is based off how it handled the characters from Aliens, but once that’s put aside I think there’s quite a bit to love. Alien is my favorite but I’ll definitely come to the defense for Alien3
So, I watched all these movies, including Alien and Aliens, for the very first time last week. Prior to that, my only real thought on the franchise was, "Xenomorph rad.," but I genuinely enjoyed watching all 7 of them! My ranking is going to be so unpopular but here it goes: 1. Prometheus 2. Alien 3. Alien 3 4. Alien: Covenant 5. Alien: Romulus 6. Aliens (I'm so sorry everyone I still enjoyed it.) 7. Alien: Resurrection There's just something about the ideas and gravitas of Ridley Scott's films that I gravitate towards. And yeah, Alien 3 rocks. I'm a sucker for franchise films with bleak, hopeless tones that almost seem to want to thrive against audience expectation. (Also see: Rob Zombie's Halloween II.) I mean let's be real, being stuck in one of these films would be the most terrifying thing ever. I'd rather hurl myself into space. Ending thought: Yep, Xenomorph rad.
My list is very similar apart from Resurrection! 1. Alien 2. Alien: Resurrection 3. Aliens 4. Alien: Covenant 5. Alien 3 6. Prometheus 7. Alien: Romulus
i was starting to think i was the only one! Resurrection was the first one i saw as it was coming out, and i still rewatch it more than all but the original.
Ripley in Aliens is one of my favorite characters on film, and certainly one of the most heroic film characters of all time. I think Alien deserves to be number one though, as not only is it a masterclass in the horror, psychological thriller, and slasher genres, but Scott also created the platform for all other films in the franchise to stand. The nuance in costume, set design, and sound alone are revolutionary (and are mostly simply borrowed by Cameron in its sequel). Scott's directorial choice in making Ripley the protagonist, while hiring a mostly unknown actress to play her in contrast to her costars and their previous fame (notably Hollywood titans like Tom Skerrit as Dallas, John Hurt as Kane, and Ian Holm as Ash) was the brilliant setup for Ripley's success as a character as well as the foundation of the film's feminist prowess. Nice list!
I have watched tons of videos ranking of these films, but not only did I really appreciate your commentary, your rankings most align with mine. I might swap the spots for Prometheus and Covenant, but my top 3 are the same, and I’m glad to hear another person appreciate Alien 3. My complaints about Romulus are the same. Maybe I will be more forgiving in time, but it was so purposefully derivative. I felt pandered to, and honestly a little saddened to think that the franchise has nothing left but to recycle even the bad ideas.
Thanks so much for watching! Glad to see we mostly match up. Agree about Romulus. The self reference feels stale in such a historically ambitious franchise
This ranking is excellent, very correct opinions here indeed. Though I'm on a prequel high lately so they're higher for me, I agree there really is no bad Alien film. Not super hyped from what I hear of Romulus, but I don't want to miss it either.
I have them as such 1. Alien 2. Aliens 3. Alien Romulus 4. Alien Covenant 5. Alien 3 6. Prometheus 7. Alien Resurrection I really had fun with Romulus, even though I think some of the bad things about it are almost unforgivable. Prometheus felt to me just so far from being an actual Alien movie
Good list, stumbled across your video and subbed after watching Here would be my list if I had to rank them currently 1. Aliens 2. Alien 3. Alien Romulus 4. Prometheus 5. Alien Covenant 6. Alien 3 7. Alien Resurrection Funny about the comment saying how you lean more towards Aliens more at your age when I’m much older and recently leaned more towards it on my rewatches too. Those first two really depend on when you ask me and how I’m feeling honestly
1. Alien 2. Aliens 3. Alien: Covenant 4. Prometheus 5. Alien: Romulus 6. Alien^3 7. Alien: Resurrection I'm sorry but I'm a prequels and specifically Covenant truther!!! We gotta see how rewatches go, it might even surpass Aliens for me over time. But I also just really love how Ridley Scott directs movies. I agree with you on Romulus, it's not like it's that bad there's just others more interesting for me. Even Alien cubed and Resurrection have their great moments.
I know people say that romulus is just a mashup of other alien films but it's not like they like anything new anyways because everything new after aliens was disliked.
1 aliens 2 alien 3 3 alien 4 romulus 5 covenant 6 prometheus 7 resurrection I love alien 3. Newt snd Hicks didn't fit on fury 161. I watch assembly cut for the first act only, then switch to theatrical from the autopsy scene forward.
oh i love this! i've thought about how my ideal cut of Aliens would be the director's cut minus seeing Newt's family at the beginning, but never tried something like this.
Sydney a great list and video, for me Aliens is still the best, it just made a huge impact on me as 12 year old when I watched it in the cinema (yes my Dad is cool for taking me to an R-rated movie). Alien 3 is still difficult for me to accept and get through because of the way it disregards Newt and Hicks.
JUSTICE FOR THE ASSEMBLY CUT! Also never understood why people say ALIENS abandoned the horror aspects of the franchise. Yeah, it's definitely more action-oriented, but like, the moment of the alien rising behind Newt in the water is an iconic horror shot.
Mine personally goes: 1: Alien - Just the dread, characters, intelligent decisions make me so involved right the way through 2: Aliens - Great continuation, well chosen setting and premise and completed the life cycle of the Xenomorph while having another great cast 3: Romulus - Visually the best in my opinion. Andy and Rain's dynamic is amazing and they're some of my favourite characters. While there some smaller issues for me (like characters being able to just pull a face-hugger off, the use of the black goo still) and yeah there was nothing new innovative in the film but it was a good watch, a fun spin-off with a well written reason to explore the Romulus and Remes station. 4: Alien 3 - Not a fan that they kill Newt and Hicks straight away but it was alright, had clever solutions to get rid of the alien. My main issue is it just ruined the end of Aliens just to bring it back to the exact same point at the end of the film. 5: Prometheus - I like the idea for the lore with Engineers and how the Xenomorph is created, really cool concept. But the film itself is just bad in my opinion, there's so many stupid decisions and minor flaws that I just dislike this film. I just don't think any of it needed explained. Leaving the Engineers unexplained in the original film I think would've been much cooler. 6: Alien Covenant - Simular issues to Prometheus just worse... The cast I thought were worse and even more random and unexplained decisions. 7: Alien Resurrection - It's just bad... Ripley's resurrection makes no sense, how did they even get a blood sample?? Even if they did the Alien Queens shouldn't have been in the mix... Regardless... Why do the mercenaries even stay on the ship after dropping off the victims?? Plus Ripley is just nothing like herself, she just acts bizarre, I can exactly blame Sigourney Weaver as she must have been fed up of the films at that point.
Just recently flipped my preference to have Aliens at #1 too. Alien is a perfect film, but Aliens is the perfect film for my current taste. Plus it’s the first film that properly freaked me out as a kid - I watched my parents’ VHS copy when I was way too young and had nightmares for months
My ranking: 1. Alien 2. Aliens 3. Tie between Romulus and Covenant 5. Prometheus 6. Resurrection 7. Alien 3 I'd also be interested to hear your take on the novelization of the original Alien 3 script
1. Aliens 2. Alien 3. Alien: Covenant 4. Alien: Romulus 5. Alien: Resurrection 6. Prometheus 7. Alien 3 I’m shocked tbh how much you like 3 considering that Aliens is your favorite. To me that movie just bums me out so much but I am glad you elaborated on why cause it makes more sense to me what works about it for some people. I really want to like it cause I like every other movie and would like to be able to say I liked it more cause I like the rest. I did watch the Assembly cut on my most recent watch for context.
Ranking: Aliens, Alien, Alien3 and Alien Resurrection. That’s it. I did see all the films after that, but they are complete schlock or rehashed ideas from previous Alien films. ( yes, and Romulus included)
1. Alien 2. Prometheus 3. Covenant 4. Alien 3 5. Romulus 6. Resurrection 7. Aliens The only one I don't like is Aliens, I just can't stand how it is the complete opposite of all the things I enjoy the most in the original.
So glad to know that there is someone else in this universe who just does not get the love for Aliens. Never understood it, and will always be bottom of my list however many films are released in the franchise. Alien is #1, I love the two prequels, and - although I like to revisit films and leave some time before rankings, I think that Romulus stands its ground very well. Enjoyed it a lot.
I'm less shocked by Romulus in last place than I am by Alien 3 in 3rd place haha. I just hate how unlikeable Ripley is in Alien 3 lol. Great video though! 👏
7. Alien: Resurrection 6. Alien3 (though I love the Assembly Cut and I adore every movie from here on out) 5. Prometheus 4. Alien: Romulus 3. Alien: Covenant (David is my favorite Alien character after Ripley. Loved your defense of it! I'm not alone in this!) 2. Aliens 1. Alien (in my Top 10 of all time)
1. Aliens 2. Alien (while I know it is objectively a better movie than Aliens). 3. Alien: Romulus 4. Alien: Resurrection 5. Alien 3 6. Fridge-cold pizza slice 7. Coffee that is cold because I forgot to drink it. ... ... ... 426. Prometheus ... ... ... 999. Alien: Covenant
Ranking I'll never watch 3 - 4 I can handle character death, but the IP beginning of its downfall made me skip out these 2. 1. Aliens Extended Cut 2. Romulus it works mostly for newcomers, but as 7th film going to be 60/40 for Alien fans 3. Alien somethings are outdated but slow the burn horror of the unknown is just intriguing 4. Aliens' vs Predator is Mortal Kombat Annihilation of the franchise 5. Prometheus interchangeable w/ no.4 due to has better expedition crew, sci-fi & history behind it. 6. Convent - looked smart but the crew decisions & screenplay is day and night to 1st film 7. AvP Requiem CW Alien movies
7. Resurrection (the only one I can’t stand, the goofy tone is not for me) 6. Covenant 5. Prometheus 4. Alien 3 (I agree that it’s hugely underrated) 3. Romulus 2. Aliens 1. Alien
Order of watch preference (not necessarily quality!) 1st. Aliens Special Edition - Perfection Joint 2nd. Alien3/Alien Romulus - I hate the how it starts, but overall A3 is a great film. Romulus might slip, depend how my fan-edit comes out. 3rd, Alien Theatrical Cut. 4th, AvP - it's stupid fun, shut up! 5th, Alien Resurrection - meh, fine. I'll never subject myself to Prometheus again and I never bothered to even see Covenant, AvP Requiem.
Haven’t seen Romulus yet but I’m still gonna do my rankings, one with the AVP movies and one without. Ranking w/AVP 1. Alien 2. Aliens 3. Prometheus 4. Alien: Covenant 5. Alien3 6. Alien vs Predator 7. Alien: Resurrection 8. Aliens vs Predator: Requiem Ranking w/o AVP and Romulus 1. Alien 2. Aliens 3. Prometheus 4. Alien: Covenant 5. Alien3 6. Alien: Resurrection Rewatching these movies made me realize while both Alien and Aliens are great, the original Alien is always gonna be superior in everyday especially with the xenomorph is utilized in the film. Will also have to check out the Assembly cut of Alien3 because I personally didn’t hate it but I didn’t like it either. Good ranking overall.
The assembly cut is so worth checking out! Very down with this ranking though, gonna watch the AvP films this week. Haven’t seen requiem but feel about the same for AvP.
@@SydneyVolpe yes! i love its bleak tone and overwhelming vibe of dread/nihilism, and even tho fincher has disowned it i think he did a directed the shit out of it
The least interesting one is exactly what I feel about Romulus. Not bad by no means, but it just gave me nothing. I am pretty sure I will be more positive towards it in the future when it's "just another Alien movie in my yearly Alien-marathon" instead of the new interesting Alien flick! My ranking is cheating a bit because. 1) Alien (My all-time favorite movie 2) Aliens. But then I have 3, Resurrection, Covenant & Prometheus tied. I simply like each one for completely different reasons and I seem to switch between then whenever I watch them all! Romulus last, but it's still 3/5 for me, so that's a pretty good for last place! Great video!
I watched Alien for the first time during the 2020 lockdown and then I watched one a day until I finished the series. Aliens was a massive disappointment. The rest of the originals were fun and I embraced the increasing weirdness with great pleasure. Then I got to the prequels and I was nervous because I remember all the hate they got and so I was shocked when I thought they were two of the strongest movies in the whole franchise. Really enjoyed Romulus even though it was basically a highlight reel of all the other movies lol It’s hard to rank them all considering Alien is the only one I’ve rewatched (like 5 times lol) but I’d go 1. Alien 2. Covenant 3. Prometheus 4. Aliens I guess The rest are all equally great, flawed Alien movies
1. Alien - Best group of characters, excels in creating a claustrophobic and isolated atmosphere. 2. Aliens - Ripley's evolution as a character, awesome creature design of the alien queen. 3. Romulus - A re-invigoration of practicals in a cgi heavy industry, awesome surprise at the end. Meh characters... 4. Resurrection - Very 90s but fun if you lean into it. 5. Prometheus - Interesting themes to explore but feels a bit off from the rest. 6. Covenant - Fun third act but that's pretty much it. 7. AvP - Decent 8. Alien 3 - Makes sense they started without a completed story. 9. AvP Requiem - Can't even see it.. too dark lol
1. Alien: Honestly astonishing every time I watch it. The pure instincts Ridley has on his second feature are legit insane to me. I'll never stop being surprised by it. 2. Alien 3: Understands Ridley's nihilism perfectly even if the technical stuff and some story elements don't work. It's just so purely committed to despair in a way I really admire. The chestburster scene in this one remains unmatched for me. 3. Aliens: Hot take but I'm not a fan of Newt as a plot device, or how she supplants the daughter Ripley never gets a chance to mourn so quickly, but mannn everything else is undeniable. Having multiple aliens weirdly makes them feel less threatening though. 4. Prometheus: Turned the sound off and watched this with an ambient score once and it went up a full star. Genuinely one of the best special effects films ever made, and a visual masterwork. David is an all-timer character. The script is very disjointed and silly though. Sorta gestures at a lot of interesting things but doesn't quite explore any of them. 5. Covenant: Again everything with David is so compelling that I was sorta white-knuckling my way through any scene he wasn't in. This is also literally the plot of Sunshine (solar powered ship on a high-stakes mission picks up a rogue signal that veers them off course, leading to a trap set by a zealot). 6. Resurrection: Very wild and bursting with ideas, and also really dumb in ways it's hard to forgive, but I wish we'd had a director this specific for Romulus. 7. Romulus: Weirdly tame on gore, heavy on constant score, sound, callbacks, references, and recreations of shots and scenes from the franchise. David Jonsson is fantastic but otherwise this was a big oof for me. Had me wishing for a director and script that took chances instead of borrowing from the big swings others took.
really enjoyed reading your takes. beautifully put about Alien 3 being committed to despair. also i love Sunshine so i appreciated you making that connection.
Glad you put Romulus in last place, where it belongs, and spoke to the many positive aspects to Covenant, Prometheus, and Alien³. I love Covenant. Your comments about the horny Frenchman and the anime eyes in Resurrection were funny. One thing I appreciated about your ranking video is your attention to characters, which all of the previous films in the series had in spades. Romulus was really weak in this department, and I'm holding both the script and actors accountable. Flat-out didn't care about the space orphans and the Forrest Whitaker-pinched bit the synthetic was doing through most of the film.
My ranking: 1. Alien (still best movie, especially on the big screen) 2. Alien 3 (awesome beautiful movie despite production hell) 3. Aliens (great movie, but as I get older it feels too conservative to me) 4. Alien Resurrection (fun new take) 5. Alien vs. Predator (solid crossover) 6. Alien: Romulus (greatest hits) 7. Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem (lot of wasted potential) 8. Prometheus (script makes no sense to me) 9. Alien: Covenant (more of the above)
1) Alien, 2) Aliens, 3) Prometheus, 4) Alien 3, 5) Romulus, 6) Covenant, 7) Resurrection Honestly with Alien 3 you could convince me it belongs anywhere 1-7, love-hate relationship with that movie
Romulus is definitely better than some of the films on a technical level but it lacks the unique voice and style that every other film has. While some of the scenes in Romulus were alright, I just wish Álvarez chose to do something more crazy. While Romulus’ creature at the end isn’t original to it specifically, it has the horror and wildness I wish the whole film had.
Sydney I can understand why people rank Alien 3 low on the list because of having issues that can’t be overlooked as minor flaws including Newt being killed early in the movie was very similar to the same issue in Halloween 5 for what happens to Rachel.
Aliens is my favourite movie ever so #1 Then it's Alien, and then it's probably a tie for 3, Resurrection, and Covenant, all of which I like, but to be honest, I'm kinda a Resurrection weirdo, and would probably always choose to watch that over the other two. (Alien birth through chest into face is the best!) The DVD box in the UK has "From the director of Amelie" written on it. Not seen Romulus yet. Oh, and Prometheus exists I guess.
My ranking unfortunately is completely tame (haven't seen Romulus yet). I'm so sorry Sydney but I watched 3 again today and it just does not work for me, I've tried! 1. Alien 2. Aliens 3. Alien: Covenant 4. Prometheus 5. Alien 3 6. Alien: Resurrection

7. Alien: Romulus
Wooo a resurrection lover!!
i was starting to think i was the only one! Resurrection was the first one i saw as it was coming out, and i still rewatch it more than all but the original.
Hot takes galore, but I appreciate your outlook 😂
I love Alien 3 as well and it is also my number three
Love it!!

I like ur ranking Sydney ❤️
Great ranking Jose!!
Nice list!
Hey very fair argument!! She is awesome.
1. Alien
2. Romulus
3. Prometheus
4. Covenant
5. Aliens
6. Resurrection
7. Alien 3
I have them as such
1. Alien
2. Aliens
3. Alien Romulus
4. Alien Covenant
5. Alien 3
6. Prometheus
7. Alien Resurrection
I really had fun with Romulus, even though I think some of the bad things about it are almost unforgivable. Prometheus felt to me just so far from being an actual Alien movie
Good list, stumbled across your video and subbed after watching
Here would be my list if I had to rank them currently
1. Aliens
2. Alien
3. Alien Romulus
4. Prometheus
5. Alien Covenant
6. Alien 3
7. Alien Resurrection
Funny about the comment saying how you lean more towards Aliens more at your age when I’m much older and recently leaned more towards it on my rewatches too. Those first two really depend on when you ask me and how I’m feeling honestly
Thanks so much for watching!! Great ranking. Glad to hear Aliens love can happen at any age haha, but yeah i flip flop on it so often
1. Alien
2. Aliens
3. Alien: Covenant
4. Prometheus
5. Alien: Romulus
6. Alien^3
7. Alien: Resurrection
I'm sorry but I'm a prequels and specifically Covenant truther!!! We gotta see how rewatches go, it might even surpass Aliens for me over time. But I also just really love how Ridley Scott directs movies. I agree with you on Romulus, it's not like it's that bad there's just others more interesting for me. Even Alien cubed and Resurrection have their great moments.
I support the prequel love!! They're fun trips, and Ridley always delivers regardless.
1. Alien
2. Aliens
3. Romulus
4. Prometheus
5. Covenant
6. Alien 3
7. Alien Resurrection
Alien is the only masterpiece in the franchise.
Fair enough! Prometheus over Covenant fascinatingg
Perfect and correct!! Awesome review!!!
I know people say that romulus is just a mashup of other alien films but it's not like they like anything new anyways because everything new after aliens was disliked.
I agree. That’s one of the reasons why I really enjoyed Alien Romulus because it went back to basics.
1 aliens
2 alien 3
3 alien
4 romulus
5 covenant
6 prometheus
7 resurrection
I love alien 3. Newt snd Hicks didn't fit on fury 161. I watch assembly cut for the first act only, then switch to theatrical from the autopsy scene forward.
Another Alien 3 truther! Very interesting. I’ll have to try that next time.
oh i love this! i've thought about how my ideal cut of Aliens would be the director's cut minus seeing Newt's family at the beginning, but never tried something like this.
I hear a lot of people talk about Aliens as a fond childhood memory, thats as good a reason as any other!! Very cool dad move.
JUSTICE FOR THE ASSEMBLY CUT!
Also never understood why people say ALIENS abandoned the horror aspects of the franchise. Yeah, it's definitely more action-oriented, but like, the moment of the alien rising behind Newt in the water is an iconic horror shot.
agreed. the facehugger sequence is also great horror.
Mine personally goes:
1: Alien - Just the dread, characters, intelligent decisions make me so involved right the way through
2: Aliens - Great continuation, well chosen setting and premise and completed the life cycle of the Xenomorph while having another great cast
3: Romulus - Visually the best in my opinion.
Yess lots of people say they were really impacted by it as a kid. It's a great movie! Still scary!
My ranking:
1. Alien
2. Aliens
3. Tie between Romulus and Covenant
5. Prometheus
6. Resurrection
7. Alien 3
I'd also be interested to hear your take on the novelization of the original Alien 3 script
Didn't even know there was a novelization! Will have to check it out
1. Aliens
2. Alien
3. Alien: Covenant
4. Alien: Romulus
5. Alien: Resurrection
6. Prometheus
7. Alien 3
I’m shocked tbh how much you like 3 considering that Aliens is your favorite. To me that movie just bums me out so much but I am glad you elaborated on why cause it makes more sense to me what works about it for some people. I really want to like it cause I like every other movie and would like to be able to say I liked it more cause I like the rest. I did watch the Assembly cut on my most recent watch for context.
Bummer the assembly cut didn’t work for you either but totally fair! Very good ranking. At least we agree on Aliens haha🙌🏼
Ranking: Aliens, Alien, Alien3 and Alien Resurrection. That’s it. I did see all the films after that, but they are complete schlock or rehashed ideas from previous Alien films. ( yes, and Romulus included)
Oof!
1-Aliens
2- Aliens
3- Prometheus
4- Romulus
5- Covenant
6- Alien 3
7- Alien Ressurection
1. Alien
2. Prometheus
3. Covenant
4. Alien 3
5. Romulus
6. Resurrection
7. Aliens
The only one I don't like is Aliens, I just can't stand how it is the complete opposite of all the things I enjoy the most in the original.
The last place hurts but very understandable haha, it is definitely the tonal standout in the bunch
1. Alien
2. Covenant
3. Aliens
4. Prometheus
5. Romulus
6. Resurrection
7. Alien 3
Also, Syd be careful there’s a facehugger behind you.
I’m glad i made it out alive🙏🏼
I'm less shocked by Romulus in last place than I am by Alien 3 in 3rd place haha. I just hate how unlikeable Ripley is in Alien 3 lol. Great video though! 👏
Unlikeable?! Fair enough hahah thank you so much for watching!
7. Alien: Resurrection
6. Alien3 (though I love the Assembly Cut and I adore every movie from here on out)
5. Prometheus
4. Alien: Romulus
3. Alien: Covenant (David is my favorite Alien character after Ripley. Loved your defense of it! I'm not alone in this!)
2. Aliens
1. Alien (in my Top 10 of all time)
1. Aliens
2. Alien (while I know it is objectively a better movie than Aliens).
3. Alien: Romulus
4. Alien: Resurrection

LOL brutal. Rip to the prequels. Cold pizza is good!
@@SydneyVolpe Pizza is always good. Even when it's bad it's still good because it's pizza!
Ranking I'll never watch 3 - 4 I can handle character death, but the IP beginning of its downfall made me skip out these 2.
1. Aliens Extended Cut
2. Romulus it works mostly for newcomers, but as 7th film going to be 60/40 for Alien fans
3. Alien somethings are outdated but slow the burn horror of the unknown is just intriguing
4. Aliens' vs Predator is Mortal Kombat Annihilation of the franchise
5. Prometheus interchangeable w/ no.4 due to has better expedition crew, sci-fi & history behind it.
6. Convent - looked smart but the crew decisions & screenplay is day and night to 1st film
7. AvP Requiem CW Alien movies
Haha fair enough, very interesting ranking!!
Mi top solo canon
Aliens
Alien

Prometheus

Glad you really liked Romulus!!

4. Alien 3 (I agree that it’s hugely underrated)
3. Romulus
2. Aliens
1. Alien
Let’s goooo alienS on top!
Hell yeah
Alien 3 is very underrated, I put it second overall above Aliens and below Alien
Hell yeah
Order of watch preference (not necessarily quality!)
1st. Aliens Special Edition - Perfection
Joint 2nd.
I'll never subject myself to Prometheus again and I never bothered to even see Covenant, AvP Requiem.
my ranking:
1: alien
2: aliens
3: alien: covenant
4: prometheus
5: alien 3
6: alien: resurrection
7: alien: romulus
Im glad you do your own ranking despite it obviously being controversial. Cant say i agree but its very respectable lol
Aliens > Alien all day
Haven’t seen Romulus yet but I’m still gonna do my rankings, one with the AVP movies and one without.
Ranking w/AVP
1. Alien
2. Aliens
3. Prometheus
4. Alien: Covenant
5. Alien3

8. Aliens vs Predator: Requiem
Ranking w/o AVP and Romulus
1. Alien
2. Aliens
3. Prometheus
4. Alien: Covenant
5. Alien3
6. Alien: Resurrection
Rewatching these movies made me realize while both Alien and Aliens are great, the original Alien is always gonna be superior in everyday especially with the xenomorph is utilized in the film. Will also have to check out the Assembly cut of Alien3 because I personally didn’t hate it but I didn’t like it either. Good ranking overall.
The assembly cut is so worth checking out! Very down with this ranking though, gonna watch the AvP films this week. Haven’t seen requiem but feel about the same for AvP.
alien, alien 3 (assembly cut), aliens, prometheus, resurrection, covenant, romulus
Yess alien 3!!
@@SydneyVolpe yes! i love its bleak tone and overwhelming vibe of dread/nihilism, and even tho fincher has disowned it i think he did a directed the shit out of it
Ridley Scott and James Cameron how can you top those two 😂 this franchise has been living off those two films love your review btw Sydney
Really has never quite topped it since!! Thanks for watching :)
YES that is exactly it! Want to see how it ages. Hey ties are fair game. I have Romulus at a 3/5 too🙌🏼 thanks sm for watching!!
Really enjoyed Romulus even though it was basically a highlight reel of all the other movies lol It’s hard to rank them all considering Alien is the only one I’ve rewatched (like 5 times lol) but I’d go
1. Alien
2. Covenant
3. Prometheus
4. Aliens I guess
The rest are all equally great, flawed Alien movies
7. AvP - Decent
@@dreamyxdread Thank you! I really think Alien 3 is still overlooked but it's a personal fave for sure.
Glad we can agree, a lot of Romulus love in the comments but it just didn’t do it for me! Thanks so much for watching.

3. Aliens (great movie, but as I get older it feels too conservative to me)
4. Alien Resurrection (fun new take)

7. Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem (lot of wasted potential)

Completely agree!
Sydney
I can understand why people rank Alien 3 low on the list because of having issues that can’t be overlooked as minor flaws including Newt being killed early in the movie was very similar to the same issue in Halloween 5 for what happens to Rachel.
Ridley Scott will always reign supreme. My ranking goes:
1. Alien: Covenant
2. Alien
3. Prometheus
4. Aliens
5. Alien 3
6. Alien Resurrection
7. Alien: Romulus
Not the Romulus dig😭 covenant on top is awesome!!
From the director of Amelie is so funny😭 love it!! Wonder if you’ll like Romulus.
My ranking unfortunately is completely tame (haven't seen Romulus yet). I'm so sorry Sydney but I watched 3 again today and it just does not work for me, I've tried!
