I’m 52 and used Lawnboy mowers since I started cutting grass as a teenager. Since 2003 I used a Lawnboy SilverPro Duraforce that has a 6.5 HP 2 stroke commercial grade engine. It was recently replaced by an EGO 2135SP that completely outperforms it. Loved that Lawnboy but love my EGO more! 👍🏻✌🏻💙
Nearly bought into Ego last year, but thanks to Ian I demoed some tools from his van and sadly the long reach hedgecutter - only on a multi tool was FAR too slow cutting speed, saved a few hundred quid there! Good thing for Makita.
Hi interesting feedback thank you. Something I’ve not heard anyone mention before. A lot of people like the facility of the two speed control on the multitool when hedge trimming slower for the heavier work and faster for the lighter work. Stay tuned for a video at the end of the month... you never know it may change your mind about EGO.. 😂
@@MachineryNation yes, i liked the 2 speed on my (dead st1530e) and now I'm using the stx3800 (i think. the commercial strimmer) and it doesn't have the option. I find I'm using more battery unnecessarily because it's easier to hold the trigger on full than half. It's really tiring holding it on half. I could just gaffer tape a bit of foam in so the rigger can rest on it but you can squeeze harder if need be. Probably a worldwide EGO conspiracy to make up deplete our batteries more often and buy new ones.
Josh, I've had the the older version for 5 yrs and have had no bother what so ever with it, battery is still good and the ease of use is fantastic, its every bit as good as my old Honda mower and will cut long wet grass better Imo, highly recommended !! PS tempted to trade in for the new one lol
Hi - I bought this mower from a local dealer, but I would love a second opinion on his advice. 1. He said mulching isn't a good idea on UK grass, which is different from US or Australian grass, and 2. I expected to find an insert for the rear-discharge as there is for my other smaller Ego mower, but there isn't. The UK Ego website clearly says " you can mulch, collect (70L collection bag) or rear-discharge to get your desired finish".
I agree U.K. grass is the hardest to mulch, unless it is of the most perfect condition, being 3” long and cutting it to 2” high in perfect dry weather with the wind in the east at 3pm on a Monday morning. Jokes aside, It’s doable but collection/discharge would be the better option in the UK. No deflector as standard, the rear flap is classed as the deflector on these, I don’t even believe a side deflector is available. I hope this helps, if concerned give your dealer a call and ask.
EGO 21 inches And I have the new ones 7.5 amp battery 🔋 I never bag or having issues not cut or stop the mower:) but I have couple problems :( 1. The mower is too lite :( 2. the mower is too small :( 3. A problem with the batteries it freezes or won’t charge and one last that long with 7.5 A only 5000 ft.² yards you can cut:( 4. And I have fescue grass I cut like 4.5 inches :) and when I cut the grass front wheels Digs grass in and i’m on second day that grass raise up and you can see the stripes tall :( 5. The mower it’s sow light one pass can float on top of the grass second pass can go down with the same settings you can see the difference :( 6. The mower is so tiny I have 1600 square-foot yard taking me one hour and a half to finish with one pass if I’m doing double pass takes over two hours :( and you have to do a double pass because of those stripes :( because of the tiny wheels digs that grass in :( oh and it doesn’t have an enough suction to suck the grass back out with the blades :( 7. Not enough RPMs or not enough vacuum to lift the grass up from the ground. :( 8. The bottoms for self propel the end of the cutting your yard you have hands A Ssort they’re too tiny and you have to squeeze the hands too tight :( EGO Mower they need to fix dthese issues :(
It may not rust but it will break and crack over time. Polypropylene is not durable over time. There are a lot of plastic deflectors that break (especially the mounting tabs)
Just bought mine and used it today for the first time, cuts very well, however the battery life is very poor, didn’t last long at all.....disappointed, just had to order another battery at a cost of £90.00
Battery life will vary a lot depending on what you are cutting. The guides that manufacturers offer is “up to” so if your grass is wet, damp, long, think, dense or corse then these factors will all reduce the time your battery will last. I hope this helps 👍🏼
Thanks for your comments, but if you are in the south east of England you will know that the grass is dry. In my case the lawn was not long either. So I am standing by comments

well i have heard Taryl say when repairing mowers its not a space ship well i say this is 🤣🤣
Hahaha, it is a bit space age looking! Bloody good mower though 👌🏽
Too bad that in Belgium Lawnflit no longer exports mowers. My father's is over 40 years old and still works!
The MTD mowers are the same. Lawnflite is a UK brand name of MTD. Hope this helps.
Yo yo hi josh. Have you been working out.. looking buff mate
Thanks Mick, Josh loves a good workout!

£90? That must be a 2.0 or 2.5AH battery... Unless you have a tiny lawn you want 5.0AH minimum in my opinion. 7.5AH even better.
@@MachineryNation Another feature affecting battery life is whether you're pushing or self-propelling.
Did you get stickers yet .when you send one to me then I will send one to you
