dan deserved way better. i was devastated because i did not expect it. so much so that during the season, i commented that i couldn't wait to see the moment when he'd finally got some happiness that he deserved (bc let's be honest, he's only been through shit these past few seasons), but then he dies. well said lucifer, its unfair.
Dan's death in Chloe's arms ripped me in half. Trixie's response to it in the hospital took those two halves and ran them through a shredder. I never dreamed this show would find anything more devastating than Charlotte's death. I was so very very wrong.

Coming into watching this season, I had heard there'd be a major character death, but I never thought it would be Dan. It always seemed like the writers punished the poor guy just for existing throughout all 5 seasons. As someone who lost her dad in adulthood, and could see it coming bc he had terminal cancer, I can't imagine losing my father suddenly, to a senseless act of violence, let alone one that simply made him a means to an end for someone else. Scarlett's got a bright career in acting if she wants it, bc she acted the Hell out of being told that Dan was dead....her skill made a 42 yr old grown ass woman into a snotty, blubbering hot mess!
I know it seems like the writers were harsh in killing him, but it's actually what Kevin Alejandro wanted. In interviews he's said over & over that Dan was the most "human" of the characters. Death is part of being human so he actually asked them to give Dan a death scene.
@@kalapiziks7561 I didn't know that..i don't watch many of the interviews. I first saw Kevin on True Blood, when he played Jesus Valasquez, Lafayette Reynold's boyfriend. As a member of the lgbtq+ community, i'm used to having our community represented as tragic,tortured, or comedic characters, but never any that are happy, well adjusted, intelligent ppl who just happen to love differently. Kevin did such an amazing job of making you believe Jesus was gay, and someone who had a life of his own. He and Nelsan made you believe that the two of them really were in love, and making it them against the world. Unspeakably amazing talent.
@@proud2bpagan oh yes. I watched him as Jesus as well. In fact, Lucifer is the 3rd time I've had to watch Kevin die. I was a HUGE Ugly Betty fan when it first started and I actually stopped watching it when they killed his character, Santos. I swear, the guy is like the Sean Bean of television.
Lucifer needs to go down to hell & bring Dan back same way he did for Cain's brother Abel but he needs to work his Godly magic to give Dan his original body. Failing that he needs to get Dan to Heaven to be reunited witch Charlotte where he belongs
