I wish they would put out the old duchess of Montrose in the old 3 rail colours it was simply beautiful with the smoke deflectors, bright green with orange and black stripes
thanks Peter, yes like you I had Dublo then the 4MT and R1 0 6 0. I have managed to acquire more Dublo in more recent times including N2s and the Class 20, it stands the test of time as it was so well made and solid and brings back happy memories.
What a fabulous layout with plenty of train running and nearly every Hornby Dublo accessory on display. Love the repaints (Neverwazza's), what a pity that Meccano Ltd didn't produce their locomotives with different numbers and names with all the available liveries - would have been relatively cheap to do instead of producing more locomotives.
thanks for your comment - shame no Warley 2020 to see more Dublo action anyway they made a range called Dublo Dinky which were to scale for Dublo but the other Dinky vehicles were bigger and this was a much larger range of vehicles
Great video and layout! Just picked up some Hornby Dublo freight wagons....In your opinion is it better to leave them in their original state, or should I look to repaint and refinish them?
If in reasonable condition with little or only very light playwear I personally would leave them as they are. If they are well worn scratched and marked badly a repaint and renovation is what I would do. There are some rare wagons out there and even if these were very worn I would leave them as they are for the sake of originality and value.
Wonderful. Brings back many fond childhood memory’s from the 1950’s and 60’s of the HD 3 rail layout I had.

Great stuff! Shame the Dinky Toys wer’nt made to scale. I loved Dublo but could only have Triang, lovely childhood though! Thanks.

What are the dimensions of this layout? Excellent layout.
Hornby Rail Collectors Association built it I would only be able to estimate size around 6x12
