  • DAY 2 IN TOKYO VLOG:
This is the vlog from my 2nd day in Tokyo. I decided to spend a morning exploring Ueno Park, because the last time I was in Tokyo I didn't really spend that much time checking out the park (other than a morning coffee in the starbucks a couple of days) despite it being a big tourist attraction in the area.
As this was the day of Newcastle United's first match of their preseason tour of Japan where they were scheduled to play against Urawa Red Diamonds in Saitama, north of Tokyo.
This meant that I only really had the morning and the afternoon to explore and look around as it could/would take up to 2 hours to get from where I was staying to Saitama Stadium for the game.

    Who is Don Maarko?
I am a Geordie living and working in Taiwan, and I started this channel to show my family and friends (and other people around the world) why I love Taiwan, and why I have decided to live here.
The aim of the channel is to show all the different places that make Taiwan a wonderful country to live in such as: popular tourist destinations, Taiwanese food, night markets, local Taiwan knowledge, attractions, events, and everything I can possibly show that encompasses Taiwan life and what it is like to live here.
This has expanded into showing other parts of Asia too, when I have the time to visit countries near Taiwan, such as:
    Thailand
    Japan
I hope you stick around and help me to continue on this journey of growing the channel and exporting Taiwan to a computer screen, a phone, or a TV near you soon.
    Thank you everyone.

Thank you. It’s good to be back in Taiwan, but not back at work.

I love this 拉麵 shop. I’m not sure if it’s popular or anything in Japan, I just tried it during my first trip to Tokyo and loved it.

Brompton is nice though, made in England

I bought Brompton in the end, I didn’t like how awkward the others folded and I need to carry up and down stairs to get in and out the train stations.

I actually liked Birdy too but the folding was weird and it’s bigger. Brompton fits under my desk at work so well I forget I even have a bike with me.

@@donmaarko Brompton makes its bicycles at its headquarters in Greenford, west London, using parts sourced from Taiwan - one of the world's largest exporters of bike parts

@@TL243 I knew Taiwan make loads of bikes. It’s amazing how many bikes are made here. Bromptons have been mad popular back in England since Covid.
I would never have bought it without having to commute with it, but it’s an extremely fun bike to use. Shame you can’t go as fast as I’d like with smaller wheels 🛞, but I knew that before buying it and decided to make the compromise for it to fit under my work desk.
