This video is an overview of ATO magnetic water flow switch. It consists of a magnetic core housed in a metal shell and a reed switch. The gauge of the wire is G1/2", max contact power is 50W and max carry current is 2.5A. The flow sensor offers 15L/min, 30L/min, 50L/min max operating flow rate options with minimum flow rate being no less than 1.5L/min. The installation methods include horizontal and vertical modes. It can be used for water, air, and oil flow detection in a wide range of applications such as water circulation, water charging and discharging, water heating, water pump control in solenoid valves, and water discharging control for water heaters, air conditioners and other water systems. With higher sensitivity, ATO magnetic flow switch is a cost-effective solution to monitor water flow.
The working principle of the magnetic water flow switch is to use the water that flows through to push the inner plastic valve core so as to let the permanent magnet on the core approach the external black sensor, hence an output signal being sent. To reset the flow sensor, all that is needed is to get the sensor away from flowing water, then the pair of magnets installed in the switch will produce mutual repulsion and the sensor is reset.
Special reminder: Since the rated power of the reed switch is relatively small, it cannot be used to control AC contactors, but only small relays. If you do need to connect it to a relay, please contact us for further information.
