+Gary Oak ever watched his njpw Japan stuff the guy is great and in ecw in wwf wwe he was nothing to what he was.just like Ultimate Dragon in wwe was not good Japan wcw he was great. I would put Tajiri,Kidman,Dean Malenko, Eddie, Jericho as the top five
1997 wasn't the first year jerry lynn has wrestled in a wwe ring he wrestled in the wwe in 1989 for two matches and than he had two matches in the wwe in 1995
Shit, I saw and actually saw Rhyno at a live show a couple months back. He was performing in Michigan for a company called Pure Pro Wrestling in Birch Run with WWE Alumni Zach Gowen and NXT's Tomasso Ciampa (just before he entered into WWE's Cruiserweight Classic). That was a hell of a show. Was my first live show ever for any sort of wrestling, and Rhyno's match literally ended up in my seat! I had to move to avoid getting completely gored! Really makes me want to get into wrestling myself.
I enjoyed vid! Would be cool if you would make a video about werstlers we didn't realize appear on wwe shows at all like dolph ziggler in 2006 or sheamus and Wade barret as securitys!
That episode of Raw where Candito, Fulton, and Rogers were all on was on June 16th 1997 from Lake Placid NY if you want to look it up on the WWE Network. I only know this off the top of my head because I was there in the crowd. lol
Highly under rated and such a greatly missed gimmick with his impressive kicks and mist some people liked the different colour mists but i thought it was a bit much just stick to it being a cheap way he can win or get DQ'd or even spit just at random moments like carlitos apple I think whatculture should do a How WWE Should Have Booked Tajiri's entire run with the company hahahaha
What about a video of 10 discontinued what culture wrestling series, including the susaro section, wrestlings worst merch (I want to see more of this!) and Simon miller training vlog (maybe this is still going but it feels like it's been a good few weeks since the last).
You got to remember ECW was on Vince's payroll and had a working relationship with ECW in the late 90's that why Candido was allowed to wrestle on Raw again just like RVD wrestled on Raw in 97 and Vince also had a working relationship with the USWA which Lawler was the big man there and of course with his son there was allowed to be on Raw too in 97
Lol at Ryno it's amazing how a little facial hair and greasy hair makes you look way tougher! Ryno was like Taz in that ECW built him up to be such a beast, but was on the smallish size in the WWF.
After his WWF days with Hercules in the tag team Power and Glory, Paul Roma was in WCW as a (miscast) member of the Four Horsemen and as part of the tag team Pretty Wonderful with Mr. Wonderful Paul Orndorff.
I didn't know about Super Crazy and Mo, but I did know about the rest, now as far as forgotten superstars being in WWF/E in 1997, Steve Corino will always be the first name to come to my mind, but there are a few others I can think of, George "The Animal" Steele made a one night only return teaming up with Taka Michinoku against Jerry Lawler and Brian Christopher, There's also Flash Flanagan, who lost to Brian Christopher in the first round of the Light Heavyweight Tournament and then teamed with Taka on an episode of Shotgun as they lost to Christopher and Aguila (Essa Rios/Papi Chulo)
Did you know that most of the ECW wrestlers appeared in the WWF/WWE in 1997 back when the original ECW existed ? The Sandman, Rob Van Dam, Tommy Dreamer, The Dudley Boyz and even the promoter itself Paul Heyman aka Paul E Dangerously ?
I forgot all about Crowbar! I loved that guy!!! great wrestler and pretty bloody entertaining. although, come to think of it, working with David Flair would probably make me look like Stone Cold.
You might want to improve your research. Fulton and Rogers fought each other as part of the tournament for the WWE Light Heavyweight title. The Ace Darling/Devon Storm match was for the same title.
You omitted Perro Aguayo jr. You know, the dude who died during a match with Rey Mysterio last year. He wrestled against Abismo Negro in Superstars in 1997.
I met Mantur cuz he was a truck driver that brought furniture to Bob's Discount Furniture here in Willimantic Ct. back in the late 90's sometime in 1998 or 1999 cuz I worked at Bob's & helped off load his truck he was a nice guy & I asked him questions about the then WWF also got my picture with him b4 he had to leave.
Jerry Lynn is fucking awesome and can out perform most of wwe's talent as of today he should have been given a push the man is truly a great performer....
I think I wrestled for WWF in 1997 too, what a crazy year!

Thumbs up if you wrestled for the WWE in 1997 too.
10 WRESTLERS WHO YOU DIDN'T REALIZE PREFER WALNUTS OVER ALMONDS
Paul Roma = Italian Ken Shamrock
That's a golden observation, sir. Well done.
Hey, WhatCulture, yesterday watched your WCPW Livestream on YT for the first time, and it was so entertaining!
Mantaur gave birth to El Torito.
Oh, and he probably also give birth to a hand.
And Finn Balor's entrance.
good one bro👍😃😂
Rhyno as "Terry Richards" looks more like a smaller version of Kane, huh??Haha!!
He looks like Kane with the mumps!
Timothy Graham Haha! I know.
Actually in my opinion he looks more like Abyss from TNA
John Critch Abyss is Kane's rejected Science Lab accident clone.Haha!!
+Sammy Lane , Maybe that's how ge got the wide body and T Rex Arms ? in a laboratory mishap. Body shaming Rhyno .
0:35 onward, what's the name of the song?
Tajiri is one of if not the greatest Crusier weights ever.
No, he's not.
Ultimo Dragon held 10 titles at once.
+A Real Good Guy True belts mean nothing though Regal Dynamite Kid Malenko three of the all time greats never a big champion.
I never heard of the Dynamite kid. But I see he held 14 different titles. That seems legit to me.
1997 wasn't the first year jerry lynn has wrestled in a wwe ring he wrestled in the wwe in 1989 for two matches and than he had two matches in the wwe in 1995
Shit, I saw and actually saw Rhyno at a live show a couple months back. Really makes me want to get into wrestling myself.
I ask again, anyone know the music used at the beginning and end?
Great video. Any chance we can find out what the background song was ?
Man Tajiri was such a great and funny character.
Please don't become WatchMojo. I'll give you a pass this time :)
this was an awesome list, you sir are an assclown
They produce too much actual good and original content to be Watch Mojo
what is the guitar solo called playing in the background around 1 min in?
I have been looking for it for MONTHS
Please tell me the name of the Background Music?
2:36 "Undertaker is not a Homo?"
What was going on in 1997..

+Ri dan Stop doing meth
Scraping the barrel a bit lads?
Or as that K-I-N-G would say, Clutching at straws
To be fair, this seems rather relevant in relation to the Headbangers random appearance on Smackdown Live
I liked this one.
3 videos a day get off the sack
I loved this video, its nice information. Plus that background theme is solid
What is the music in the back? I love it.
Great background music.
I enjoyed vid! Would be cool if you would make a video about werstlers we didn't realize appear on wwe shows at all like dolph ziggler in 2006 or sheamus and Wade barret as securitys!
Uhm... can someone tell me what's the song playing in the background please?
false advertising I knew all these wrestlers were in WWE. you can expect a call from my lawyer(s).
Shut up
+Thesupercardguy 89 As OFFLINE_GB's lawyer you'll be hearing from my office for violent threats against my client.
Its the Law office of, Dewey fukeue & howe
More like Dewey, Huey and Louie
You mean Dewey, Cheatem & Howe?
what is this background track of this video? who's the artist
That episode of Raw where Candito, Fulton, and Rogers were all on was on June 16th 1997 from Lake Placid NY if you want to look it up on the WWE Network. I only know this off the top of my head because I was there in the crowd. lol
"Rhyno, Tajiri, and 8 more wrestlers you've never heard of, who you didn't know wrestled for WWE in '97"
Colton Russell If you’ve never heard of them, you’re not a wrestling fan 😂
1997 was a historic year for WWE because all those enhancement guys drew incredible ratings.
Holy shit!
Paul Roma and Ken Shamrock can never be unseen!
What's the name of the song used throughout the video?
I agree about Tajiris run with Regal. Incredibly entertaining
Haha, I remember Crowbar from WCW! He teamed with David Flair and Daphne :o)He was kind of sweet on her if I remember correctly :oD
what's the background music during the list and where can I get it?
What's the background music? Sounds like Tony MacAlpine.
What's the song in the background
I remember when Simon wrestled in 1997 in the WWF where he defeated Adam for the light heavyweight title! Oh, the memories...
can someone please tell me what that song is in the background? I love it! :)
I like Simon, but honestly I do prefer Adam
And jack
I think majority of us fans like Adam B the most, followed by King and Simon
I don't care who narrates, I'm here purely for the stupidity of the comments section
Its just a fucking voice ya dumbfucks who cares whose voice it is
I remember tajiri he was one of my favorites
Highly under rated and such a greatly missed gimmick with his impressive kicks and mist
some people liked the different colour mists but i thought it was a bit much just stick to it being a cheap way he
can win or get DQ'd or even spit just at random moments like carlitos apple
I think whatculture should do a How WWE Should Have Booked Tajiri's entire run with the company hahahaha
actually how the should have booked the light heavyweight division lol
Well they're giving it a second run I believe......under the name, 'The Cruiserweight division'. Time will tell.
Justin Credible was with them in 1997, he was there for a few years, but he was there in 1997 too. :)
He was the Portugese Man of War Aldo Montoya.
He was a lot of names lol.
music in the background?
Not to change the subject or anything but, why did WhatCulture remove the "10 things WWE want you to forget about JBL" video?
What's the music in the background?
What about a video of 10 discontinued what culture wrestling series, including the susaro section, wrestlings worst merch (I want to see more of this!) and Simon miller training vlog (maybe this is still going but it feels like it's been a good few weeks since the last).
For some reason, I believe that I've wrestled for the E in 1997...and I was born early that year. That must've been one hell of a year.
I actually know Nick Barbaree. He is from Waterbury, CT and used to be a bouncer.
Simon I see that Atmosphere shirt, big fan here as well 👍✌️
most awesome wrestling channel ever!...real talk
Can't believe that's nearly 20 years ago. Time has flown by.
I've heard that background music in at least 5 videos now and I still don't know what it's title is. help pls
Everytime Bernie Sanders had a rally they would play this music too
James, get back to cow chop dude
Facial hair is the best thing that could have ever happened to Rhyno.
Do 10 Wrestlers who didn't realise they were wrestling for WWE please.
You got to remember ECW was on Vince's payroll and had a working relationship with ECW in the late 90's that why Candido was allowed to wrestle on Raw again just like RVD wrestled on Raw in 97 and Vince also had a working relationship with the USWA which Lawler was the big man there and of course with his son there was allowed to be on Raw too in 97
Simon, I know Nick Barbieri. He used to work as an athletic director at the high school I worked at. We talked wrestling all the time.
This has amazing background music, what is the song
Loved my time with WWF in 97. Featured in the rumble also that year
Why have you stopped your pod cast miller?
Yeah, super crazy appeared under a mask as Histeria in 97,had a great match against Venum too!
Lol at Ryno it's amazing how a little facial hair and greasy hair makes you look way tougher! Ryno was like Taz in that ECW built him up to be such a beast, but was on the smallish size in the WWF.
Young Rhyno looks like young Scott Steiner taking a selfie with a Glen Jacobs filter😂
what's the name of the awesome guitar solo in the background?? anyone?
I believe Rob Van Dam wrestled in the WWF in 1997 as well.
Yes, but just about every wrestling fan already knows that.
+yipster16 😧 I'm so sorry
Ethan Skys Nah, don't be. :)
I used to wrestle under the moniker "Richard Hertz". I was known as the sadistic urologist & rental car heir!
lol
Dick Hertz lmao
After his WWF days with Hercules in the tag team Power and Glory, Paul Roma was in WCW as a (miscast) member of the Four Horsemen and as part of the tag team Pretty Wonderful with Mr. Wonderful Paul Orndorff.
6:31....Sheesh! Glad they were able to fully separate Rhyno's face from his neck when he returned.
I'm only here to make a comment on how INCREDIBLY SPECIFIC that title is. WOW.
in 1997 i was 1 years old so i didnt even realize that who i am
nice to know
+Eetu Suhonen niinpä
Too young to even experience the Nintendo 64? That is a shame.
I was born in 1996 and played plenty of N64!
+SolidSonicTH born in 1999 just download an emulator on ur phone
What's the name of the song?
let me guess. One of the superstars was R-Truth(who wrestled as K-Kwick and teamed with Road Dogg)
There's no way he's that old.
Derpy Charmx yup. He's that old. I think he turned 48 last year
+Derpy Charmx R-Truth is, as much as I hate to say it, a WWE veteran.
+Derpy Charmx For another fun fact about R-Truth, he was friends with Eazy E and Tupac
+Dro Briggz k kwik was 2000
This actually is a fun video!
How about the 1-2-3 Kid / X-Pac ?? Wasn't he around 1997 or earlier ?
Did you know that most of the ECW wrestlers appeared in the WWF/WWE in 1997 back when the original ECW existed ? The Sandman, Rob Van Dam, Tommy Dreamer, The Dudley Boyz and even the promoter itself Paul Heyman aka Paul E Dangerously ?
I forgot all about Crowbar! I loved that guy!!! great wrestler and pretty bloody entertaining.
although, come to think of it, working with David Flair would probably make me look like Stone Cold.
"Remember Mantaur? Don't. Forget him as quickly as possible."
The Fantastics and Chris Candido were also part of the Lightheavyweight tournament. that's why they wrestled each other.
You might want to improve your research. Fulton and Rogers fought each other as part of the tournament for the WWE Light Heavyweight title. The Ace Darling/Devon Storm match was for the same title.
There's a Jerry Lynn vs Steve Corino Shotgun Match somewhere in 1997
Nice video guys
Crowbar was a really cool wrestler in WCW, along with Dafney & David Flair & why wasn't this awesome team brought to WWE,
4:55 and not to forget Super Crazy did a few match in spring 1997 in WWF as Histeria I.
When Devon Storm and Ace Darling were mentioned, I thought of Brian Zane
Great video! ... but why 1997?
sabu, rvd, matt hardy, jeff hardy,
last time i was this early
rhyno still wrestled in 1997
I remember Gino Carabello at a WWF house show in Ontario in the Summer of 97.
You omitted Perro Aguayo jr. You know, the dude who died during a match with Rey Mysterio last year. He wrestled against Abismo Negro in Superstars in 1997.
Rhyno looks terrifying without his beard
I met Mantur cuz he was a truck driver that brought furniture to Bob's Discount Furniture here in Willimantic Ct. back in the late 90's sometime in 1998 or 1999 cuz I worked at Bob's & helped off load his truck he was a nice guy & I asked him questions about the then WWF also got my picture with him b4 he had to leave.
That moment when they ignored Rhyno's stint back in the late attitude early ruthless aggression era with benuot
Jerry Lynn is an old friend..Hung out here in Mpls quite a lot..
Jerry Lynn is fucking awesome and can out perform most of wwe's talent as of today he should have been given a push the man is truly a great performer....
I never knew any of these guys wrestled for the WWE in 1997?!
what about Great Sasuke? Negro Casas? Fuerza Guerrera? El Hijo del Santo? the whole working relationship they had with AAA?
Pretty sure AJ Hazard joined the light heavyweight division for a bit in 97
when's the wrestlers who wrestled for wwe at 8:43 pm July 7 2003 video?? smh
Wait. So Vince looked at Rhyno and DIDN'T push him to the moon?
Hell, I think he would've been a pretty good top heel for the company.
