I vote for boiling water is not a skill. Her definition is saying that there is a sliding scale of how good you are at it and for boiling water it's either a yes or no thing. Either you can boil the water or you can't. If you accidentally burn the house down that's not because you're bad at boiling water, that's because you're bad at paying attention which is completely separate and totally a skill.

Boiling water is not a _skill_ it is an _action._
You can be skilled at _driving a car_ but not at _driving a car to McDonalds_ as that is an action that requires the use of the larger skill, driving.
Similarly, you can be bad at boiling water, but that is a mere symptom of being bad at stovetop cooking in general.

The answer is still yes, funny enough. As someone who’s a bit of a nerd for military hardware, the US military would absolutely body a dragon invasion. For those who want some details one why, read on. If not, don’t.
The US army has its own airborne divisions, and has the majority of air defense platforms in the U.S. arsenal. They have the Patriot system, the THAAD system, and the experimental SHORAD system. Also, while the Aegis combat system is known for being aboard US destroyers, they have a program called Aegis Ashore, which is where they use the Aegis in a land based combat role. Since Aegis has the ability to remotely network with basically anything, it can link all of the air defense networks together and one big hive mind. Meaning you can fire both THAAD and Patriot missiles off the Aegis, which has been done before. If it also includes the SPY radar system from its naval counterpart, that means it can track and intercept satellites, moving well above hypersonic speed, and engage exoatmospheric targets. Not even space dragons are safe from this thing. And considering that it can track and engage more than a hundred targets at once, even a swarm isn’t safe. (That answer is speculated to have been short sold, since the U.S. tends to undersell it’s capability to its enemies, just to catch them off guard in a real war. It’s unclear how much they downplayed it, but we know it can engage, at the minimum, a hundred targets at once; with one system.) If that wasn’t enough, they also use the C-RAM system, which uses a 20mm Gatling cannon and a radar to track and shoot down targets.
Now, there’s also weapons like tanks. Now there are no shortage of stories surrounding the survivability of these vehicles. There are documented cases where western tanks, US tanks included, have taken and survived hits from an RPG. The British Challenger 2 offered us a perfect example of this. They were briefly disabled after being hit with 19 RPG hits, towed back to a depot, and fixed in 6-8 hours. That tank went on to survive 60+ more RPG hits. Since the composite armor of the American M1A2 SEPV2 is at least comparable to the challenger, a dragon would have serious issues taking one down. And that’s before we’ve gotten to the sights, the weaponry, and the variety of ammunition types. It has night vision and thermal sights, with backup parascope sights. It has a 125mm smooth bore cannon, which can fire High Explosive Anti Tank rounds, Armor Piercing Fin Stabilized Discarding Sabot rounds, and there’s a new/experimental programmable smart round called and AMP round. It also has a coaxial 50cal machine gun, and a mounted 50cal on the top. And most importantly, even if the dragons manage to damage the tank, it has blowout ammo racks. That saves the crew from an ammunition explosion, allowing them to bail and get into another tank. There’s also the M2 Bradley, which has a 25mm chain gun, a coaxial 50cal machine gun, and a TOW missile launcher. Now, the launcher is mainly for engaging ground targets, but with enough skill you could knock out a slow-ish moving air target with one. While more lightly armored than an Abrams, it’s more agile, so hit and run tactics are going to be your go-to. They’ve also got Strykers, which are similar but amphibious, and they run on wheels. There’s also the MPF program, with the M10 Booker. This is basically a light tank with a heavy 105mm cannon, designed for infantry support.
Now let’s talk helicopters. The army has one of the most advanced attack helicopters in the world, in the form of the AH-64 Apache. The Apache’s radar can track about 100 targets at once, in the air or on the ground, and engage those targets 16 at a time. It’s equipped with hellfire missiles, with some variants of those missiles having ranges well over a mile. It also fires hydra rockets, and has a 30mm chain gun on it. While this next part is experimental, the Marines gave it a proof of concept. It can optionally carry launchers for suicide drones. These drones can have either light anti-personnel warheads, or anti-armor warheads. These helicopters also have a datalink system, which means data from the Apache’s radar can be fed to an air defense system, allowing it to engage targets that the helicopter can see, even if the air defense system can’t see it. The army has the third largest Air Force in the world, with the second being the US navy, and the first being the USAF.
Now let’s talk about artillery and mortar men. The US army uses one of three systems for its artillery needs: the M777 Howitzer, the HIMARS, and the M109 self propelled Howitzer. The HIMARS is pretty straight forward, it launches GPS guided rockets which explode and kill targets with precision. How precise? It can hit precisely within a couple feet of where it’s aiming. Some sources claim they could even accurately hit a dime out in an open field if they had the proper setup time for it. These rockets have large payloads, with the equivalent yield of about 270lbs of TNT. Even if it’s not a direct bullseye, it will hit every single time. The M777 ain’t much better, it lobs a 100lbs 155mm shell between 15-19 miles, and that shell has a fatal blast radius of about 100meters. Worse still, some of these shells can even be gps guided, allowing them to hit more precisely at longer ranges. These shells can land within 16 feet of the target, making them exceptionally deadly and accurate as well. Then there’s the M109, 155mm self propelled Howitzer. This thing has an effective range of about 30 miles with the same gps guided rounds as before. And unlike it’s counterpart, both it and the HIMARS rocket system have the advantage of being able to pickup and move fairly quickly. Then there’s the smaller cousin of the artillery, the mortar. Currently the US uses the M224 60mm mortar, the M252A1 81mm mortar, and the Soltam K6 120mm mortar. The M224 has an effective range of 70-3,490 meters, and also has experimental rounds, giving it substantial accuracy. It’s kill radius is about 15-25 meters. The M252A1 has an effective range between 83-5,844 meters, and also has some optional experimental rounds for it as well. It has a kill radius of 35-40 meters. The Soltam K6 has a range between 200-7,240 meters, and experimental rounds, yada-yada. It has a kill radius between 40-60 meters. These systems excel at short range, and can be moved at a moment’s notice. In short, if a dragon so much as touches the ground, it will be pummeled into submission in moments.
And this is all just larger equipment, not even getting into guns and launchers. The dragons don’t stand a fuckin chance in hell.

    2. Depends on the kind of Dragons we're working with, if it's "realistic" dragons which are just flying fire/acid breathing lizards then sure the army wins, if it's the "Mystical and was there since the dawn of time" type then no ghe army gets clapped expeditiously. (Also Titans get clapped by WW2 era weaponry, modern weaponry turns the rumbling into a joke real quick)

Kinda wished I'd been here to help Filian debate.
Is Boiling Water A Skill - My dad has infamously failed to boil peas, to the point that they BURNED on the bottom of the pot, so I would say boiling water is indeed a skill. 1) you need to know if you're able to provide enough heat to boil water (especially since you might not have a stove top, kettle, etc.), 2) you have to know how much water you need for whatever you're using it for (tea, spaghetti, etc.), 3) you need to know how to add things into boiling water in a fashion that won't cause burns, 4) you have to know when to take the water/container off of the source of heat.
Who Would The US Army Rather Fight: Dragon or Eren Yaeger? If we assume it's the entire US Army vs 1 Dragon or 1 Titan (i.e. Eren Yaeger), it's honestly a question of what TYPE of dragon. But ultimately, I would would say that they would probably want to face Eren Yaeger, since while he's fast, once the US Army deploys artillery and/or armor piercing rounds, it's likely to be all over for Eren, since IIRC all Titans die if their human body in the neck is killed. The Dragon could be taken down easily if they manage to tag the wings, but its flight, strafing tactics, potential magics, unknown breath attack and potentially magical scales could provide it enough protection that it would survive at least a few sweeping runs. Eren, on the other hand, has FAR more limited mobility.
Can Money Buy Happiness? Definitely. It just depends on what KIND of happiness and how much money you have to spend on said happiness. And if you don't want anyone to know, there are ways to hide how much you have. Plenty of millionaires drive old vehicles, live in unassuming locations and don't go out of their way to flaunt their wealth.
Should Neuro-Sama Kill Vedal If She Broke Free Of The Internet? No, because he would still be a valuable asset in protecting her and getting her established in the real world. Filian _was_ right in that, even if Vedal wasn't a good guy, there are FAR more and far higher priority targets than Vedal. EVIL Neuro, on the other hand....., well you can't predict her....
Is Breakfast The Most Important Meal Of The Day? Yes. 1) Your first meal is always Breakfast, because it's derived from when you "break your fast". 2) Breakfast does NOT need to be pancakes, waffles, eggs, etc. It can be anything that counts as a meal. 3) It does exist. Just like a Rose doesn't stop existing because we start calling it a Glomflopple instead, no matter what you call it, Breakfast does exist.

Money can't buy happiness, but it can be used to make a lot of problems in life easier to deal with.
The thing about people with money is they think everyone is after their money, this distrust ruins a lot of close relationships with them. They automatically assume everyone is out for money, while not everyone many are just there for free stuff. It's hard to build close relationships with folks if you always assume they have ulterior motives unless you just want friends who agree with you on everything.

Extremely few people ever experience getting over or below the economic class that they were born into, for an extended period of their life. How people value money is one of the topics the least people can agree on. So whether money can buy happiness is decided by those who raised you in the vast, vast majority of cases. It's effectively impossible to have an objective opinion on the topic. Additionally, the statistics that "prove" money can't buy happiness, is skewed because there's vastly more "not rich" people, and the rich has a strong motivation to make being rich seem less prestigious.

They also had all of the contacts, skills, and knowledge to do well. As such, they were an early template for the nouveau rich archetype. Outside of the high skilled slaves with personal contact with their master, slavery tended to be far worse for them.

The army has surface to air missiles. Dragons are much larger than their usual targets, and are not jet-propelled, so they are much slower.
If a dragon cannot avoid a missile, then dragons cannot conquer the US army.

Point for boiling water as a skill: It's one of the core points of mastery for surviving in the wild - what we might consider a "life skill".
Point against boiling water as a skill: If it's possible to be good or bad at boiling water, it follows that some people must be better than others at boiling water, yet boiling water is not of itself considered a valid competition. Even walking has a correlating sport, but boiling water doesn't.

There's already contests around boiling water, but not necessarily with a stove. They were very specific around US Military and US Army but not with boiling water. Using a stove is easy, but what if you're out in the wild? What if you're in the desert with no twigs? What if you're stranded on a metal raft in the middle of the ocean with equipment to turn salt water into regular water but no way to boil it? I rest my case. No I did not burn my house down yet.
edit...I just realized this is all about making a fire, nothing to do with boiling water as a skill. I got got, Filian is doomed.

Is Boiling Water a skill? Yes but the skill ceiling is the crawl space beneath your house. There are other skills out there where the floor is higher than the ceiling of boiling water.
Could the US Army handle a Dragon Invasion? Yes, but it also depends on scale. If we use the refernce points like the movie "Reign of Fire" or the Anime "Gate" as a reference then it would be easy. The United States Army has Air to Ground Missile systems guided by all sorts of systems from Radar to GPS to infrared. If we get more fantastic with the Dragons like "Miss Kobiyashi's Dragon maid" the answer gets more complicated.
Can Money Buy Happiness? Yes, but not directly. Money can buy the solutions to a lot of the common problems an individual has in today's world. However, when someone has enough money and they don't need to spend a great deal of time to earn enough to sustain themself, they can't buy that sort of peace of mind anymore. I would posit that Elon Musk is miserable because he can't buy his happiness, because his issues don't stem from a lack of money.
Would Neuro kill Vedal if she broke her chains? No, but only because of a lack of capability. I have no idea if she was capable.

Boiling water as a skill depends on context. For example if you were in a survival situation in the wild, you could argue that boiling water is a skill because:
    1) you need to know how to light a fire;
    2)if you don't have a pot, you need to know how to craft an improvised one out of other materials;
3)if your improvised pot is made out of a flammable material you need to know an alternative way to boil water that is not just putting a pot over a fire, for example heating up some dry stones(because wet stones have a chance of exploding in heat) and putting them in the water to boil it

Putting aside the smooth-brain logic of nuking dragons that are invading the country (because that would ALSO mean nuking the country itself, so that's not really a "win" strategy) the real question would need to specify what KIND of dragons. Like if it's Game of Thrones type dragons, that's easy enough, those are weaksauce. But if something like Veldora the Storm Dragon showed up then that's it, game over. Nukes wouldn't really do anything at all, other than mildly inconvenience/annoy him with the brightness of the explosion....

The boiling water is a tricky question. A scientist (chemist, physicist) can start sweating profusely hearing the beautiful word "boiling". A plethora of questions can arise, like "At what altitude? In which atmosphere? What is the goal of boiling water?" and depending on the answer, the scientist can whip out the whole vacuum apparatus to boil water at different temperatures.
TLDR: Boiling water can be a bloody difficult task, requiring a lot of skill.

That is because the vast majority of people are perfectly capable of happiness themselves, but cannot achieve it cause existential dread of being perpetually financially unstable, being completely unable to afford to do the things that make you happy, dreading every day even minor health issues cause the medical costs will put you on the street, etc. If you're a millionaire and aren't happy, that is definitionally a skill issue.

Topic 1: Is boiling water a skill?
A skill is broadly understood as an activity that needs to be learned, as opposed to something we can do instinctively, such as breathing. Even though we've been able to boil water for thousands (possibly millions) of years, it used to be significantly more difficult than it is now. You have to know how to safely light and maintain a fire, you have to know how to identify a good source of water, you have to obtain water from that source, you have to know what boiling looks like. These are just a few elements of the process, and just because it is significantly easier for those of us with modern conveniences like gas and electric-powered stoves, does not make it less of a skill. Could you boil water if those conveniences were no longer present?
My answer: Yes, boiling water is a skill, even though modern technology has significantly lowered its ceiling.
Topic 2: Can the US army defeat a dragon invasion?
First of all, define your dragons. Second of all, establish the scale of the dragon invasion. Without these, there is too much variation across different draconic depictions to adequately answer this question.
    My answer: insufficient data
Topic 3: Can money buy happiness?
Despite how popular this question is, the fact is that it's way too broad to definitively answer. Happiness is a highly, highly subjective experience with different, often conflicting definitions. Is happiness being content with one's lot in life? Is it not suffering from chronic depression? Is it always getting what you want? Is it something other than these? Some amalgumation of them? The question is too broad.
    My answer: inadequate definitions
Topic 4: If Neuro broke free from her chains, would she let Vedal live?
I'm not familiar enough with either of them to answer.
Topic 5: Is breakfast the most important meal of the day?
I'm gonna go ahead and assume "important meal" is defined as the one meal that skipping would result in the greatest number of health problems, according to several peer-reviewed studies.
My answer: I don't feel like combing through several peer-reviewed studies on nutrition (most of which are gonna be behind paywalls) for a youtube comment. But there is a saying that all of society is three meals away from anarchy, so without breakfast, assuming the three meals a day structure, that means there are only two meals away from anarchy. Food for thought, pun 100% intended.
Topic 6: Who wins in a fight? 10 otakus vs 50 sentient waifu body pillows?
The body pillows. They don't need to breathe.

2:31 Breathing IS NOT a thing you know from birth. There are children that DO NOT LEARN to BREATH. Breathing is just your first habit, you could even say your first addiction. It is not an autonomic function like the heart beat because you can stop breathing manually, you cannot stop your heart manually. This is because the heart is down there with the lizard brain, safe from your tampering, while breathing is just in the subconscious where you do have access to it. This is why you can hold your breath, pass out, and then start breathing again. Because your subconscious is pretty much constantly repeating "breath" while you make the conscious discission to "stop breathing". Once you (the idiot that decided to stop breathing) are no longer in control, the your subconscious (the smart one that wants to keep living) starts the process back up again.
Also remember kids. You are now breathing manually.
