QuadStrike was a mix bag and I don’t think it’s trash. The story and returns are pretty good and better handled than Surge imo. If they actually used the proper beys it would be pretty solid. Surge I felt was plot armor central and made the returning characters look bad. Surge and QuadStrike are kinda opposites imo. Surge has cool looking beys but poor story while QuadStrike is the reverse
Surge was massively bad. They made the legends punching bags, we only got 5 good episodes out of 50+ in terms of writing and gave Lane the greatest plot armor EVER. At least the QD and QS showed SOME complex writing and character development.

I like how the first half of Surge kinda focuses on Hyuga and the other half kinda focuses on Hikaru.

It would make sense if hyuga was since the burst mcs seems to have a theme of the wearing/having the colour opposite of the mc before them I.e valt was blue and Aiger was red. So it’d make sense for hyuga to be more of an mc since he’d technically be the mc after dante if u get what I’m saying

I kind of wish that they made Ranjiro's Cyclone Roktavor more distinguishable from Rantaro's Cyclone Roktavor, they should have gave his a different combo like instead heavy he had 10 or 00, Crash, and different performance tip.

Btw, some explanations are censored in the English dub, but for example, valtryek has rubber wings, and helios is able to change betwen 5 blades and 10 bladed mode
Also, the brothers have a hidden power called flare, they are simmilar to broly from dragon ball super, they have so much power but they risk to hurt themselves if they unleash too much of it because it depends on its emotions
oh yeah Flare the power up that's basically a vaguely stronger resonance.
I feel that, aside from little things, this season is just nostalgia bait with no development for anyone aside from the main antagonist, which (light spoilers) is just an edgier Delta with more plot armor than Gingka

I think you saying he’s an edgier Delta doesn’t make much sense. Also I have an entire battle log of Lain’s characters so I’d love for you to point out which battles of his are plot armor or not.

Episode 21: Group A Battle Royale, Winner: Lane. Reason: Lane had an impeccable strategy to get him the win. And don’t take it from me, take it from the words of master strategist Hikaru. He said this in the very next episode, “Lane totally predicted that Helios and Satan would compete for center stage. Then he intentionally gathered all four beys into the center. A flawless strategy.” I don’t think I need to say more. Is the win valid? Yes.
Episode 28: Aiga vs Lane, Winner: Lane. Reason: Aiga made a huge mistake during the match that cost him. He had a great strategy to using his Speed Mode so he can slowly but surely slim the barrier to down. The part that cost him was that he knocked him in the one place he shouldn’t have, which is the speed crater. That speed crater gave Lucifer the spin to reactivate the barrier and go for the win. Not to mention that Achilles’ defense are incredibly slimed due to Speed Mode. Is the win valid? Yes.
Episode 30-31: Valt vs Lane, Winner: Lane. Reason: You could absolutely make a case that Lane won for plot so Shu can defeat Lane, but that’s if you have a case. This would be a great use of plot. Lane awakened this match and used Variant Disaster to finish Valt off. Is the win valid? Yes, but for the sake of the plot.
Episode 40: Aiga and Ranjiro vs Shu and Lane, Winner: Shu and Lane. Reason: Although Shu sat this one out, it seems that Lane was put in a corner for the majority of the match until the final clash where Lucifer almost hit the edge and went out, but Achilles and Ragnaruk hit the outer floor. It wasn’t exactly an orthodox win but it was a reasonable one. Is the win valid? I’d say so.
So out of the 4 examples you put, only 1 of them are shown. The other 3 aren’t. And unlike your baseless claim, I took as much context from each battle as possible to see if it was genuinely plot or not. And nearly all of his battles are in fact not plot.

1.lane may have had strategy but that dont excuse him repelling lui, dante, silas, and hikaru all at the same time with little effort only for him to be pushed around by less later in the series
2. this is a big one lane's barrier is caused by centrifugal force not movement speed thus the barrier should not have opened then it was plot armor when valt did it turbo and it still is here
3.this one you agreed with but I double down and say it wasn't even narratively good they could have just had valt win lane not understand and be mad then shu asks him to battle to help him understand
4. this one was especially bad lane was overpowered by valt later in the series alone while lane here repels both aiger and ranjiro together you can't seriously tell me that valt is stronger than both aiger and ranjiro at the same time I think lane was cool just had plot armor that could have been easily fixed
1.instead of him overpowering all of them he could have hit them out while they were all clashing in the center
2. realistically they should of just let him lose but if they needed him to win they should have made it that aiger breaks the barrier lane goes in the crater speeds up and uses variant disaster
3.just let him lose this one didnt make sense at all how did he beat a full power valt but lose to shu it would work better narratively too just have shu humble lane because he doesnt understand why he lost
4.have shu help lol this was actually bad lane they could have them barely knock out lane and shu sweeps in for the finish

I swear this season had so much potential, it was easily up there in the first half
Is kinda sad Surge was so close to being peak beyblade burst but got screwed because of:
Having half the episodes
The writers neccesity to create new bland MC(and these 2 are really really bad)
And of course Lain's plot armo- I mean his uncontrollable flare

I horribly disagree with your take on the bland mc’s. Their brotherly dynamic is very well written and was explored throughout the season. If you didn’t enjoy them that’s fine. I can’t force you to like them.
I mean i’d love for you to explain which one of Lain’s battles are plot armor. Because I can tell you for a fact that the only battle he had with plot armor is his final match with Valt. And even then, that plot armor instance was to push his built up fight against his master, Shu.

1. Before this match occurred, Shu trained Lain for one year. Hence Lain’s incredible Blading prowess at the start of the season.
2. Lain used First Uranus, a Sparking Bey whereas Free most likely used his Geist Fafnir. A Bey which is two generations below Lain’s First Uranus.
3. Free didn’t battle Lain to win. He battled Lain in agreement to Shu to show Lain that Bey battles can be fun. Hence him not going all out in that flashback.
So going by these factors alone, that win Lain achieved was in no way, shape, or form plot armor.
