I am a 60+ year rifle collector and hunter and reloader and if you buy a 378 Weatherby good luck if you ever decide to sell it because it’s more recoil then 99.9 percent of what most hunters can handle😳 get a 375 H&H or a 416 Rem mag and you will Thank your self every time you take it out to shoot!
@jackbuendgen389 Another RUclipsr contacted me for advice on a rifle for his upcoming video. He said he loves Hunt Camp Mail, and I told him "it's a shame they get so little watch time". He recommended that I try a quick intro summary that grabs and holds the viewer's attention and makes them watch longer. We'll see if it works (it seems to have snared a couple of you).

Maybe in 2025. My buddy and frequent guest of the channel, "Nubz", was there in April and caught some huge Tails. I will be in Belize trying to catch Tarpon and Permit during this summer's Loreto Dorado run. 2025 might happen if I can plan it around my Africa trip.

If you think it w hold up and also be up to the task of hard use in cold snowy weather. Please and thank you in advance ✌️
Speaking of recoil: A few decades ago, after moving to Colorado, for some reason I felt I needed a more serious elk rifle than my trusty .30-06 (probably was just an excuse to buy another rifle). Anyway, I started researching the gun and hunting magazines, especially looking for recoil information on various mid-caliber rifles. I remember many of them had pictures of rifles in full recoil; one of which showed a .338 Win Mag with about one and a half to two feet of muzzle rise. I ended up finding a lightly used Model 70 in .338 Win Mag at a gun shop and bought it for a very reasonable price. Quite honestly, while yes, it had recoil, but I didn't find it all that terrible and I certainly never had muzzle rise of more than a few inches. It was actually a very accurate rifle, too. I came to the conclusion that most of the gun writers who spoke of the great recoil and muzzle rise of the .338 must have been about five and a half feet tall and weight 120 pounds, or they were just trying to impress something not totally true. Now in all honesty I am 6'2" and weight 215 pounds, so maybe that had something to do with it, but I still see videos on RUclips of some well-known people videoing recoil and it sometimes it appears they actually pull the gun up themselves to show severe muzzle rise that wasn't really there. Not sure why on earth they do this..

Great advice for the 9.3x62….a 26” barrel is way too long and 22” is perfect. My Sauer 9.3x62 has 22” barrel and the handling is superb
