@@neshgambi3633 Thanks! Trump will likely be voted out of office in 2020. It's 2018, we should have moved on from racism, sexism, Xenophobia, Homophobia, and discrimination. Maybe we should be a global society, maybe even get rid of borders. It's nicer to have world peace than it is to have countries fighting wars.
I will never understand that mentality. If a noncitizen commits a crime, then yea get rid of them. But if they're not? If they're just working and living, why get worked up over removing them? Imagine someone who's so unhappy with their position in life than instead of working hard to change it...they blame someone else. That's basically their thought process, isn't it? "My life will magically get better once you're gone!". And, of course, even if they had their way...no, nothing would change for them. Their life will, of course, still suck because they haven't done anything to improve it. So then I guess they'd find another imaginary enemy to blame. I don't know, I don't get it. I could never live like that. If I screw up, that's on me and only I can fix it. Not going to go around blaming some random immigrant because I'm feeling overly insecure. That's basically the only way to solve any of your problems. Take personal responsibility for your own life, and stop voting in leaders that sit on their fat asses all day fearmongering instead of working towards solving real problems.
Being a non citizen and working is a crime though... If they are on a legal work visa sure that is one thing but those on legal visas aren't getting deported
You can't just displace american workers because somebody here illegally just wants to work. You will end up with disgruntled citizens and civil unrest.
22:46- "It's hard to feel like were not turning our backs on our own history." *sighs* Look my man: I love you like a brother and I agree with your sentiments here. 100%. But here's the thing about American history... Here's a quote from Benjamin Franklin in an essay he wrote in 1755 titled “Observations Concerning the Increasing of Mankind, Peopling of Countries, &c.” _"And since Detachments of English from Britain sent to America, will have their Places at Home so soon supply’d and increase so largely here; why should the Palatine Boors [Germans] be suffered to swarm into our Settlements, and by herding together establish their Language and Manners to the Exclusion of ours? Why should Pennsylvania, founded by the English, become a Colony of Aliens, who will shortly be so numerous as to Germanize us instead of our Anglifying them, and will never adopt our Language or Customs, any more than they can acquire our Complexion."_ You can read the whole thing here if you like: muse.jhu.edu/article/405697/pdf You don't see that side of Benjamin Franklin very often in the history books, do you? Here's another fun quote from Thomas Jefferson writing on the Catholic Church in France in a letter to Alexander Humboldt in 1813: _"history, I believe furnishes no example of a priest-ridden people maintaining a free civil government."_ Thomas. Jefferson. On Catholics. founders.archives.gov/documents/Jefferson/03-07-02-0011 And then in 1814 to Horatio Spafford: _" in every country and in every age, the priest has been hostile to liberty. he is always in alliance with the Despot abetting his abuses in return for protection to his own."_ founders.archives.gov/documents/Jefferson/03-07-02-0167 In the 1850's, the Native American Party, also known as "The Know Nothing Party," ran on an explicit anti-Catholic and anti-immigrant platform. The Catholics loyalty to the Pope was painted as allegiance to a foreign leader. They believed that Catholics would not stay loyal to America, would undermine the system, and bring authoritarianism to the country. Immigrants from Ireland and Germany poured into the country in the 1830's and the party's anti-immigrant rhetoric won elections nationwide. They blamed Catholic immigrants for poverty, crime, a lack of jobs, low wages, and crowded and expensive housing. The violence they committed against immigrants before finally dissolving in the 1860's was extensive: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Know_Nothing Then there was the anti-Chinese movement that flared up in the late 1800's. In the 1900's through the 1920's a large movement against Eastern and Southern Europeans kicked off, featuring several proposals for a literacy test that were passed by Congress but vetoed by the president. Senator Henry Lodge at the time argued: _"It is found, in the first place, that the illiteracy test will bear most heavily upon the Italians, Russians, Poles, Hungarians, Greeks, and Asiatics, and lightly, or not at all, upon English-speaking emigrants, or Germans, Scandinavians, and French. In other words, the races most affected by the illiteracy test are those whose emigration to this country has begun within the last twenty years and swelled rapidly to enormous proportions, races with which the English speaking people have never hitherto assimilated, and who are most alien to the great body of the people of the United States."_ Nativists often raised the question of whether or not the United States was a "melting pot" or a "dumping ground." Also in the 1920's the Ku Klux Klan grew in popularity (anti-Catholic, anti-Semitic, anti-alien, and anti-black), In the 1960's the Immigration Reform Act brought in many immigrants from third-world nations and a movement in the US against bilingualism began. This was followed in the 1980's by an English-only movement which tried to force English as the official and only language of the government and private sector. In the early 1990's California lashed out at the Mexican and Central American immigrants passing a highly-restrictive law that was rule illegal by the courts. And now we have today... So my point is when people say that Trump and his anti-immigrant language is un-American, they couldn't be more wrong. You can say it's vile, abusive, racist, defamatory, and actively harmful to the national discourse. And all of those statements would be completely correct. But the one thing you cannot truthfully say is that it's not in keeping with this country's legacy. And we are only going to get past this as a nation is by acknowledging past mistakes instead of pretending like they never happened.
It's like that quote from The Last Airbender: "Reagan... Bush... Clinton... Obama... Long ago, immigrants and americans lived in harmony... but Then Donald Trump came into office and everything went to sh*t..."

This show makes up for Last Week Tonight being off until February. You better not abandon me like John did, Hasan!
Aged like milk
Everytime Hasan speaks in Hindi, I'm proud he's an Indian.
He's American. Not Indian. He has Indian heritage and parents but his fight is the American fight.
@@MD-po7gz Heritage and personality is what matters.
You can take him out of India, but you can't take India out of him. 😎😂
@@manasvegi4170 The idea IS to take the Indian Out of him. If he wanted to be Indian he would have been in INDIA. heritage matters but not to the extent for disassociating yourself to the country that is giving you citizenship! He's American First and then whatever comes after.
@@MD-po7gz why does it have to be a zero sum game? He can be both. You can be culturally Indian ( which he is) and politically American. He is proud of his brownness AND his country ( the US). You can't touch his obvious love for and loyalty to the US but you also can't subtract his brown identity - it made him who he is.
People like Hasan act as a bridge between cultures. I think all of us can learn to appreciate such people ( because they are rare and beautiful) and don't find reasons to chop the bridge (at either end). Thnx.
Finally Hindus proud of a Muslim!
Keep putting this stuff on YT for free. It's good that there is more free and available factually based information on the internet.
Nice work. I admire the amount of research they put into this. This show is great. Thanks for putting the truth out there for everyone.
Using Franco's family to driscibe ICE had me dying of 😂
Yes.. And i wasnt complaining tho 😂
I just love the flow of the show laughter and silence well mainatined by hasan 😘
That's the magic of the editing team. (They deserve kudos too)
I couldn't laugh in this episode because I was too occupied with crying... Honestly, it is unbelievably disgusting that the world is like this today and I just feel so helpless! 😭

Absolutely amazing Hasan. Thank you so much for speaking up for the many voices who cannot.
This deserves way more than the one upvote I'm allowed.
I learn more from Hasan than in school
Everything was white washed anyways.
Then your probably not paying attention
research counter arguments to what Hasan says and decide for yourself
@@noneya1238 How?
@@jonathantanner7083 because they only told the white side of the story, duh.
Steve Miller at 17 looks like 40+ years old.
A balding one at that.
Not my saying, his saying.
no wonder he's so disgruntled
@@MBest12 When Miller spoke in these clips, he reminded me of that incel Elliott Roger, who killed people in the Isla Vista shooting back in 2014 because he couldn't get laid. Super creepy!
Well according to Rohl Dahl it doesn't matter what you look like you will eventually show all of the venom and bile in your soul.
Wonderful episode! I teared up toward the end there. Your show is exactly what we need today. I always look forward to new ones every week!
The ending made my tear up. Thanks Hasan! 🙌🏾
God damn right. That was extremely well said. Wow, just wow man. I've just added a fourth political show to my roster, because you and your team know what you are doing.
Is extremely disturbing how much Steven Miller physically looks like Ghollum.
Gollum was just corrupted. Miller is town to the core.
Do not compare Poor Sméagol to this demon.
He also look like vlad dracula putin
Franco bros as example for ICE organization is cold, apt and hilarious... Best one oF this season...
Best political show out!
I didn’t realize being of middle eastern decent was a crime
A lot of Arabs from south of the border tend to be Christian (except my relatives lol). In fact, as an Arab Muslim, I am a minority in the Arab community in the US (about 60% of Arabs are Christians). So wtf.
I look forward to every episode of Hassan's. He has been spectacular!
This hit hard. I haven't heard much coverage on the huge hit H-1B visas took this year from Trump though and it seems that the US continually shoots itself in the foot when it comes to immigrants without realizing it has a mutualistic relationship.
@@MichaelJames-lz7ni Good grief! Take a chill pill. Fox and friends (& Don the Con) has got you all riled up! And now me, too. ;-D
@@MichaelJames-lz7ni And for the record entering this country in order to seek asylum is a freaking misdemeanor. Like getting a parking ticket. so relax! You'll live longer and there's plenty of other people you can use as a scapegoat for your problems. ;_)
(You and your criminal acts. LOL! )
Michael James I hope you could say the same if you were a mother with small kids, fleeing violence, drug cartels and sex trafficking, seeking a better life for her kids. I get that maybe it's written on a formal document that coming into our country the way that the caravan is is illegal, but if you can manage to look away from your TV on fox and friends for two seconds, you might be able to see that life and a lot of people's circumstances are more complicated than the words on that formal document saying that they can't be here. Walk a mile in their shoes because they've certainly walked many more than that to be a part of our country.
@@brookethebook5692 just because they come from a shithole country does not me we shouldn't inforce our borders, the fact is they need to come here legally, otherwise they will and SHOULD BE DEPORTED

☺Immigrants pay their taxes while the wealthy horde and take money out of circulation
and the fanbase of the wealthy will leech off those taxes that immigrants provided while still blaming that they dont pay their taxes..ah..the circle of fucktardation
Yes immigrants do. Undocumented foreigners do not.
The only way you can claim immigrants are a net positive is if you lump in illegal and legal immigrants.
If you isolate illegal immigrants and run the numbers they end up costing taxpayers. Illegals don't pay more in than we spend on them each year.
They also use Hospitals and schools costing more taxes they could ever pay
@ 90% of citizens in this country cant pay hospital bills. Immigrants and non immigrants alike. It isnt because they're immigrants it's because its insanely fucking expensive for no reason
@@Aj-sn1dp there's a reason for everything. you can find out with a Google search
So refreshing to hear this kind of sound from the USA. We have a lot of extreem right racism in western europe and nobody can say anything on tv. I hope that in the future we will have something like this in Europe. Keep going bro!
Thank you. it starts with just every day people like you. Already, your kids will never be racists.
If Last Week Tonight were a TED Talk. I think I like it.

THIS episode. THIS episode alone should have everyone's attention. If there is anything that people should be talking about it is this right here.
I keep getting surprised that there's so much footage of a teenaged Stephen Miller... I'm like "wow, they had a lot of video cameras around back then." Because I keep forgetting he's my age... Hate really ages you.

Every episode is worth it ❤️
I will never understand that mentality.
@@michaeltpandola how about we start throwing into the jail then the ones who hires undocumented?
@@chrissiek8706 Hiring someone without reporting taxes is already a crime and people already go to jail for it
There are many complications that arise from undocumented citizens and it should not be downplayed.
You can't just displace american workers because somebody here illegally just wants to work. You will end up with disgruntled citizens and civil unrest.
22:46- "It's hard to feel like were not turning our backs on our own history."
*sighs*
Look my man: I love you like a brother and I agree with your sentiments here. 100%. But here's the thing about American history...
Here's a quote from Benjamin Franklin in an essay he wrote in 1755 titled “Observations Concerning the Increasing of Mankind, Peopling of Countries, &c.”
_"And since Detachments of English from Britain sent to America, will have their Places at Home so soon supply’d and increase so largely here; why should the Palatine Boors [Germans] be suffered to swarm into our Settlements, and by herding together establish their Language and Manners to the Exclusion of ours? Why should Pennsylvania, founded by the English, become a Colony of Aliens, who will shortly be so numerous as to Germanize us instead of our Anglifying them, and will never adopt our Language or Customs, any more than they can acquire our Complexion."_
You can read the whole thing here if you like: muse.jhu.edu/article/405697/pdf
You don't see that side of Benjamin Franklin very often in the history books, do you?
Here's another fun quote from Thomas Jefferson writing on the Catholic Church in France in a letter to Alexander Humboldt in 1813:
_"history, I believe furnishes no example of a priest-ridden people maintaining a free civil government."_
Thomas. Jefferson. On Catholics.
founders.archives.gov/documents/Jefferson/03-07-02-0011
And then in 1814 to Horatio Spafford:
_" in every country and in every age, the priest has been hostile to liberty. he is always in alliance with the Despot abetting his abuses in return for protection to his own."_
founders.archives.gov/documents/Jefferson/03-07-02-0167
In the 1850's, the Native American Party, also known as "The Know Nothing Party," ran on an explicit anti-Catholic and anti-immigrant platform. The violence they committed against immigrants before finally dissolving in the 1860's was extensive: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Know_Nothing
Then there was the anti-Chinese movement that flared up in the late 1800's. In the 1900's through the 1920's a large movement against Eastern and Southern Europeans kicked off, featuring several proposals for a literacy test that were passed by Congress but vetoed by the president. Senator Henry Lodge at the time argued:
_"It is found, in the first place, that the illiteracy test will bear most heavily upon the Italians, Russians, Poles, Hungarians, Greeks, and Asiatics, and lightly, or not at all, upon English-speaking emigrants, or Germans, Scandinavians, and French. In other words, the races most affected by the illiteracy test are those whose emigration to this country has begun within the last twenty years and swelled rapidly to enormous proportions, races with which the English speaking people have never hitherto assimilated, and who are most alien to the great body of the people of the United States."_
Nativists often raised the question of whether or not the United States was a "melting pot" or a "dumping ground."
Also in the 1920's the Ku Klux Klan grew in popularity (anti-Catholic, anti-Semitic, anti-alien, and anti-black), In the 1960's the Immigration Reform Act brought in many immigrants from third-world nations and a movement in the US against bilingualism began.
Glorious essay, sir. Take my like.
