Having no stream takes all the air out of it. It’s supposed to be an exiting sport and a spectacle. Watching short clips to see the results is the antithesis of that.
It's so ridiculous I watch a lot of sports this is completely unheard of there losing out on money and views
Shaw Classic is already 10x the show vs worlds.
They had all the headstart and completely dropped the ball by not adapting to streaming.

That agreement mentioned re Mitch & Fojtu is exactly why this group format needs to be scrapped with one big league and the top 10 qualify for the final. Nothing against those two, they aren’t breaking the rules but no one wants to see folk having agreements in place for the first event.

WSM needs to really stop living in the 80’s and 90’s. The competitors are promoting the show, and Uncle Loz/Aunt Liz covering it. They’d make money running PPV easily. No body watches legitimate TV anymore. It’s all RUclips and Streaming services. At Least Rouge/Shaw Classic and Giants have the live shows down 🤙.
I love the wsm! I've been watching it for over 30years here in UK, it's been on TV at Christmas time where anybody can watch it the old fashioned way👍
@@garlicguzzler I've long been a defender of the show/format but must admit that last year I never got round to watching it on TV. For there to be so much good coverage at the time of the event these days and it being such a long wait meant I just didn't really care. The show desperately either needs to be moved to later in the year - around September time, maybe, so that the overall hype and vibes are still there come December (and they still have time to edit the show) or they need to accept that the post-Christmas format is no longer the right time. All that said, it would be fascinating to know the viewing figures - Christmas week is such a captive audience time that any other time of year the TV format would be an instant fail.
The problem is translation and distribution to so many countries in there view

Hi Guys ! Love your content and great recap for those of us who don’t have the hours watching your livestreams. Small (very small) comment : you misspelled Jaco’s last name. It’s Schoonwinkel as in the Dutch spelling not Winkle . Trivia for you: in Flemish (where much Afrikaans comes from) this means pretty shop ot good shop. So one of Jaco’s ancestors must have been a great shopkeeper.

Thanks for the updates. Just gotta say I’m really bummed they don’t have livestreams. I understand they have tv deals and contracts which are lucrative, however, not being able to watch the action unfold myself ruins it.

World's strongest man is locked into a contract with CBS sports. This means that it has to be a televised event, but not a live televised event. Cbs sports wants it to be shown around Christmas time as it always has been. I don't believe the organizers have any choice. But I can't wait until the contract is up, and they can start doing live streams.

I know I'll be in the absolute minority here (re read that again for what I'm about to say) but there's something really fun about not having a stream for this and getting updates through Loz and Liz or on other social media platforms. That element of not knowing and frantically waiting on updates is, dare I say it, quite fun and exciting knowing there'll be swathes of content eventually coming out.
Pushing really hard to win while balancing injury avoidance is an aspect of strength IMHO. I think it’s like auto racing, if you crash out from first place because you’re pushing just a little too hard….

Idk. Im really enjoying WSM '24. The lack of the "big names" is making it really interesting. These new (new for me) athletes are really putting on a show.
Im really digging it. I havent been this invested in the group stage in a long time. I legitimately thought this was going to be a hooper vs stoltman show. Now idk. 😆

Barring serious misfortune, Evan Singleton should cruise into the Finals. Five point lead, even a middling Viking Press will keep him well in the lead, then he will sprint with the Car Walk.
No disrespect to the amazing athletes but I'm having a difficult time caring about WSM. Not all The best guys are in it and it is just very poorly promoted and streamed. It feels like a local provincial competition.

@@bronchoped Sure, I was just repeating the term they used since I get who they meant, Mateusz, Martins, Oleksii, etc, "the top guys"; personally I'm happy with the field but wanted to point out that the absences of big names is due to injury, not wrongdoing from WSM

Hooper winning??! No way! ... Lol it's going to get really boring if we don't have some others seriously step up and raise their all round game. It's very much the intelligence of competition as well, it's such a shame that hooper wasn't around during shaws reign.. they are both incredibly intelligent competitors and study every event to the smallest details.. I feel like too many guys just try and run on natural talent and don't push their weaknesses .. if guys don't adapt hooper isn't going to be beaten

Something something livestream something something 🙄 how many times must you people be told that there's no livestream because they're locked into a TV contract. Does it suck? Yes. Is there anything to be done about it? No.
they fully intended to livestream this year. the livestream organizer flaked out so they didn't. your argument ignores the facts.
This event is unworthy of the athletes so far.
Where are the Russian athletes?
None of them are competing or at the WSM level. The other Pavlo hasn't been competing, Makarov only cares about the deadlift record, and the only Russian that cared about Strongman, Mikhail Shivlyakov, has long been retired.
