91-94 we were young & identified with the ‘glass is half empty’ attitude the Seattle sound conveyed. With age & experience everyone changes. Some of their best songwriting came after surviving pressures we’ll never have to endure. They always took their own path (why we fell in love with them) & they still do but now some want them to be frozen in time. Not really. You have to play full out for sound check, so levels don't jump like crazy during the actual show (people play harder with "lots of energy"). I learned that lesson the first time I played a club at age 14. It's just being professional, nothing special.
This is mind boggling. I watched this episode 100 times. Easily one of my favs. First, PJ had 3 songs! Second, How Much You Benchis easily my fav sketch of all time.

Caveman Lawyer, Canteen Boy, Hans and Franz, Richmeister, Italian restaurant guys, Tiny Elvis, and so many others. And of course the incredible bands that blow away all the garbage music of today. And just the side note, the Christian Slater and the Jason Priestley episodes are among our favorites.
I was working as a pit boss in NM casino. There's a guy.. comes in and starts playing Roulette. Wearing shades. I'm talking to him for like five minutes before I finally realize something and ask, "Hey, anybody ever tell you 'you look like Emilio Estevez?'" He slowly lifts his shades up, gives me a stare, and says in a familiar, raspy voice, "Sometimes!" Big fan. I was always Billy the Kid when we played Young Guns as preteens around the neighborhood.
